Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Good morning everyone. I am have a modest internet speed (100mbps) but when I fly over business districts such as NYC, Seattle etc, the buildings and trees are blocky and distorted. I have maxed everything out in my settings and turned on bing maps, photogrammetry and rolling cache in data settings. I just want to be enlightened why I am having these issues. For the Steam Version: If I have enough hard drive space, can I keep both FSX and FS 2020 on the same machine. Or would wiping your machine and starting from scratch be better? I have a 4TB USB drive to store the download on. THANKS

I might be missing something obvious but can't find the setting in Options to disable them...

Anyone snag this yet? Obviously not A2A level but cant be any worse than the default planes physics...

Is there a way to remove the "Button" and "Knob" labels in the cockpit when you roll your pointer over them? Thanks

I was having a ton of issues that I did not have yesterday and decided to reset the MSFS in the control panel. DO NOT RESET as IT deletes the entire app and you have to download again. Big difference in a reset and uninstall Microsoft............Ridiculous

Good day! It is my understanding that MS has done a great job with the high number of airports to visit in the world. My question to the community is - there were a number of closed airports that were still available to fly from. Are they still there? In particular, I am curious about 3SY - Speedway Airport near Indianapolis, and KDCA near Decatur, IN. Also - is there anyone who has made a text/CSV file dump of all the airports in the sim? The way i see it, the potential with asobo partnering with flightaware is huge. But it probably wont happen. What I mean is: with flightaware data you obviously have the flight plan, but you also have the registration number as well. If asobo, or more likely, a 3rd party provided a plethora of accurate models and liveries, they could be mapped to the flightaware data (aircraft type, airline, flight plan, departure time, etc.). I would think the registration data would be great for those one off special liveries (such as United's star wars 737 livery). And not only that, but charter flights such as the an-124s, the few remaining 727s, and countless others could…

If anyone regularly fly's out of KFRG on Long Island I was just wondering if you could post a pic and comment how it looks as far as layout and buildings. Does the sim do a decent job of it, or is it sadly lacking?

I'm now experiencing a lot of scenery stuttering in the production release. I did not see the problem in Alpha/Beta testing. I've experimented with changing my settings but haven't found a remedy for the stuttering. I tried changing the graphics settings from High-End to Medium to Low, but this does not seem to impact the stutters. Has anyone else learned what impacts the stuttering the most and what I might be able to control? I'm running on Windows 10 I7-7700K, GTX- 1080, and 32MB ram.

Thought I throw this out there for those who are interested in learning more about the AI traffic...it is surprisingly not good and just weird. With AI traffic on 100%, I am at a normally busy Logan International Airport (KBOS) at 3 oclock in the afternoon and most planes are parked and not moving. The ones that were moving stopped moving at some random locations on the airport and some just disappeared. I have seen very few planes actually flying in the air. AI planes bounce up and down while taxing like if there were speed bumps on the taxiway. Also, the wheels don't move when they taxi. But hey, that is the default generic AI planes. Help, please. Regarding MSFS 2020 Premium Delux version. My PC specs I9 9900K @ 5.0, HT on or OFF, 64 GB Mem @ 3200 GPU RTX 20280 Ti. Settings selected by software for MSFS at ULTRA CPU @ 60% GPU 98 to 100% loads. Previously on P3D V5+ CPU@ 60% GPU AT 80% with PMDG A/C no stutters no fan noises with settings almost to MAX. On MSFS at ULTRA no clods CPU @ 60% GPU 98 to 100% constant fan noises from the GPU with micro stutters. I have PFC CIRRUS Yoke (the jetliner), PFC THROTTLE QUADRANT CONSOLE, and the T-PENDULAR RUDDER. All my controls are also calibrated in Windows and internal in MSFS. The problem, I can't f…

I went to bed last night well before midnight and decided I'd download (from Store) today. I pre-ordered so all I had to do was click on the provided icon in my taskbar. So, I downloaded MSFS at 10am and it went smoothly. Absolutely no problems. It did ask me to BROWSE for the drive I wanted, and that was one of my pre-install concerns...but no problem. I didn't have an "ANY KEY" freeze 95.15 Gigs downloaded totally in 44 minutes Content Manager automatically did the updates in the beginning and ALL planes and Airports were loaded (Premium Deluxe). Setup was a little intimidating, but if you had patience, you could figure many things out …

Hi all I seem to remember reading somewhere that the ATC might in future leverage some Azure capability to render accents other than the default. At the moment the controller voices seem identical to the pilot voices...it would be nice to hear both some variety in tone to distinguish these - and also some non-American voices. If I'm flying from Liverpool to Glasgow, for example, the current rendition seems a little unlikely, although perhaps more universally intelligible 🙂 I appreciate that the content here is more important than the delivery - but is anyone aware of the roadmap in this area? I'm personally not interested in VATSIM etc. Thanks in advance!

Been reading through the forum and seeing as I have CH's Yoke/Peddle setup I decided not to bother and purchase what's supported. I'm still downloading the sim after 5am this morning so I'm pretty frustrated. I don't need anything else...

Has anyone who's using TrackIR experienced an additional shaking in the camera when it's active? For me there's always a constant small-scale shake, as if I were in choppy air -- even though when I look in the TrackIR window itself it's steady. I know it's head track related because when I freeze the input from TrackIR the shaking stops, too. I tried disabling additional head shake in the camera settings, but that didn't have any effect. Any other gusses? (I've used the same hardware without trouble with P3D and XPlane)

Bought the game through MS store. The game won’t launch sometimes and when it finally does I get to the main menu and it crashes to the desktop. I’ve tried: Downloading latest Nvidia Drivers Checking if windows is up to date Reinstalling Microsoft runtime C++ Rebooting into safe mode Disabling firewall/antivirus Reinstalled the game 3 times Nothing I try works. How do you get to the maps to click on airports to get the runway frequencies and course for ILS approaches? How do you pull up a GPS like you could in FSX with Shift + 3? Surely the VFR map is not the only one, there is absolutely no detail on it. How do you create or open an IFR flight plan like you could in FSX? while in game? It seems I have to end the flight just to set a flight plan. Shift + 3 for GPS, Shift + 2 for the radio stack, and the whole FSX ALT menu are gone, I relied on those heavily while playing. Is it somewhere that you have to turn it on? Or have they actually removed all of these features? I thought this sim would have been just like FSX from a butto…

Ended up getting on ms store, install was flawless and I was able to place the install where I wanted it not burried in Winapp, very happy despite initial reservations on using ms store

I just tried the Gibraltar landing challenge just now. Everything maxed out at 1440p on my i9700k 32gb ram and 2070 super card machine. Totally smooth. The graphics are just magnificent. As close to real life as I have ever seen. The Airbus is being thrown around by the gusty winds. In p3d or x-plane I never paid attention to winds. Landing was more or less the same in airliners regardless of the weather. There was no challenge when landing "on rails". I really struggled to land the Airbus. I am not a real world pilot but the whole experience felt to me what i felt it would be like in real life. And that's all one can ask for.

Feels like similar quality you see in Gran Turismo viewing the cars, this time its Plane Porn! However I'm a screenshot junkie and I can see no way to remove the HUD to allow proper full sexy screenshots???
