Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Purchase, download, installation all very smooth. No crashes, disk errors or anything like that. I bought the premium edition from the Microsoft Store. Controller was not recognized. Had to assign manually. Learning curve is high, not much help on how to do this. I'm sure it is frustrating for some. Airports took a while to download. At first, my home airport was not installed (KRYY in Cobb County Georgia). Saw it after about 15 minutes. Scenery is pretty amazing but in some cases not up to date. For example, I could see my office building (which was really cool) but Truist Park is not installed and neither is Mercedes Benz Stadium in downtown Atlanta. You …

I am trying to get my Tobii Eye Tracker to work with MS2020 but I have zero clue how to do it and I was wondering if anyone here has gotten it to work?

Is the insallation from Steam as cumbersome as it is for some who are downloading from Microsoft? I'm usded to installing games from Steam with one click.

No support for foreflight from what I can tell. At least I don't see any options for configuring GPS broadcast.

I have got MSFS through the Game Pass for PC beta. Several things is unclear for me. First I don't see where it is installed. I was only prompted for a folder to download packages to but not an actual installation folder which I expected. Also under Control Panel and programs there are no entry for MSFS so I could uninstall it (in case I want to replace it with another version). Also I would like a manual since it is not completely clear how to or to best use it. I have read that the boxed version is delivered with a printed manual. So there seem to be a manual. And I would expect this manual somewhere as a PDF file or ? But where ? Or do we have to buy a boxed versi…

I woke up to the sim having only installed 40 ish GB. I then noticed that despite the data transfer rate being around 20 MB/s on task manager, the installer was stuck at 40.96 GB and not moving. I decided to click pause, close the installer, and open it again. This time, the sim started up like it was fully installed and had me begin setting up my graphics settings. I then reached the main menu and half of the menu is not functional or is corrupted... Does anyone know how to fix this? I'm stressed because I can't find a way to resume the content download 😕

I tried to tell people that the release version would be an open Beta and predictably got rebuked for saying so. I understand and appreciate all the bug reports and questions. What I don't get are all the complaints and expressions of disappointment. What did you expect for an initial release? The development update clearly indicated that they are still working on the autopilot bugs, performance issues like stuttering, insufficient moments of inertia on aircraft, and several others. Hi, what I don't understand is, why do we need additional landmarks addons? Wasn't that a special thing on the new sim, that all that is alread included through the new technology?

Is anyone else getting an incredibly slow download? I keep seeing all of these 1-5 hour downloads, and I'm stuck here 12 hours in barely halfway done. A few minutes ago my download rate on Task Manager dropped to 400 KB/s. Now it's back up to 4 MB/s, where it's been pretty much the entire time I've been downloading the sim. However, the sim's total downloaded amount seems to be progressing even slower than 4 MB/s - it's barely even hitting 0.5-1 MB/s. The Ookla Speed Test shows me at 50 MB/s (and I just ran it simultaneously with the download of MSFS, so it's actually a bit higher). My house gets 1 GB/s and I ran a router speed test and it showed around 900 MB/s. Does any…

I am unable to access the marketplace, is anyone else having similar issues?

Thirty gigs in and the download just died. End of. Restarted the program. Nothing. Restarted the computer. Nothing. It opens. It asks "Click any button" I do. Opens the download page. It FFFFFFFF'ING freezes.

I didn't move to Kiribati, and I didn't start downloading at 04:00 UTC. Started at 0:730 local time this morning, and an hour later I'm at 9.55GB. This is on a 100 MB/S internet connection. I'm assuming the servers are under load...

How do I remove those big "instruments" showing in the outside view???

So I was a moron and tried moving the game after installation from one drive to the next. But after the move, the game wouldn't play so I tried uninstalling the game. After which, I've restarted my computer and gone to the Microsoft Store to try to reinstall the game. Now when I try to reinstall it from the store, I continue to get a Error that I can't install the game. I'm at a lost of what to do.

I must let users in on a little secret , DEV Mode Cameras and pause simulation when the developer toolbar is enabled a host of useful features are available like slew mode , cameras without position restrictions , perfect for flyby or screenshots , a pause simulator toggle under option , an aircraft selection window that negates the need to go to the main menu ... go find out what your able to do outside the box . I wonder what they were thinking when they decided to force the music upon people who would have to sit there for however long while everything downloaded. Not only is there no way to turn it off, you can't use your computer's audio for anything else because this thing will be playing in the background the whole time. So I've just had to mute my sound for the better part of a day. First world problems...

Anyone else have problems with Key Commands not working. Amazingly I got the basics of the game running at low settings. Looks amazing considering the low settings but its not workable by any means. Biggest issue is a dialog box will pop up with key command hints however they don't work. For example it says CTRL + NUM LOCK for releasing the parking break but it does not work.

I was wondering if there is a way on Flight Simulator 2020 to view replays ? There is a beautiful replay mode on X-Plane however I could no find the same on Flight Simulator 2020.

I’m using this flight as a example but I had tried similar other flights with same results. I noticed on the 748 I tried setting up this flight to Tokyo from lax with all the possible waypoints loaded on the fmc and saw a big performance drop . however if I take a direct to approach I see no performance issues at all ?? please also keep in mind I currently have a slow Pc . I3 at 4ghz 16 go ram Radeon Rex 580 8gb
