Current Specs: Intel® Core™ i7-14700K Nvidia RTX 4070 Ti 12 GB 64GB Ram Gigabyte Z790 AORUS ELITE AX motherboard Hi Everyone, I only fly in VR using a Quest 3 and looking to upgrade something with a budget of about £750 to give me better VR clarity/quality. Your thoughts on wether I should change RTX 4070 Ti card to the AMD RX 9070 XT or keep my RTX 4070 Ti card and purchase a Pimax Crystal Light instead...or is there anything else worth considering? Your thoughts please.

Thought about VR for quite some times but for a good while i didn't felt like putting that kind of money into it, but now with Steam Frame on the horizon and stuff like Meta Quest 3 i have to evaulate on that one. Sounds like the “super” series wont be hitting the shelves anytime soon. Really wanted to get something with 24g of Vram but… Could pick up a 5070 ti with 16g at MSRP, to replace my 3080 10g. That’s the real bottleneck for me. Opinions? Running 2024. Thanks

I do all my flying in MSFS2020 in VR using a MeganeX Superlight 8K VR headset. Primarily flying the iFly 737 MAX8 online on Vatsim to/from payware airports. Many of them rather complex. My current rig consists of a 13900K with a 5090 and 64 GB RAM. The performance is OK but I don't have that perfect smoothness I see when flying a less complex aircraft to smaller airports. I suppose that will be hard to achieve with the hardware we have available to us today but if I could at least see a noticeable improvement by rebuilding my rig, I would be willing to give it a try. I purchased the oasis driver to use with my HP reverb G2 and it was working OK, after Msfs 2024 V4, I get the following message : ”virtual reality set up failed, the initialisation of VR failed, please check that OpenXR in installed on your computer and your headset can use it” deactivated OpenXR toolkit , same problem. I am using Win 11 , latest nvidia driver 591.59 any idea how to make VR work again ?

One PC will be Windows 10 and the other WIndows 11. KVM with audio mixer? Or something else that will allow viewing the BIOS from the two PCs using one monitor. The goal is to run MSFS 2020 on Windows 10, and using one button press, run and view MSFS 2024 running on the Windows 11 PC with the Quest 3. Model and brand recommendation would be really nice. The deal breaker might be its 1000w PSU, size and weight. 2 ft. tall and 50 lbs. Is this size and weight typical for this type of gaming PC? I think the PSU is overpowered too.

Hi , I have a broken terminal on the potentiometer that sits in the handle of the joystick which is the hotas 4. I am just wondering if anyone has ordered one of these and if so where from. I have seen a couple on ebay but the question is , is it the correct size. I have contacted Thrustmaster who have informed me that these are un repairable and they don't carry spare parts

Good evening - I got everything installed and working - just wondering in what order do I get the CL and PC up and running in msfs2020. I plugged in and started all of the stuff needed to run the headset I forgot what to do first. I have Pimax Play , Steam and MSFS Auto FPS and of course my AMD 7 7800x3d - RX 9070 XT. FS2020: When I use the information bar (SHIFT+Z) in VR with the Reverb G2, a stretched narrow strip appears across the entire screen with image artifacts. In 2D, this addon works perfectly. It also works fine in FS2024 with the Reverb G2. Why doesn’t it work in FS2020? Is it a bad setting? Thank you.

I noticed by chance that the sound from the built-in Quest headphones ca be improved noticeably just by cupping your hands over your ears. It seems a bit basic, but I'm wondering if something like ear defenders would work - has anybody tried anything like this?

I just switched from the HP reverb g2 to the meta quest3 but somehow i can't get is as clear as i want to. Maybe some settings in the sim as well as in the oculus debug tool. My specs are. So I’m wanting to get my first pc vr headset, I’ve had a psvr in the past & it was ok, I guess I’m looking for something with good visuals & clarity. Pc is amd running a Ryzen 7 5700x3d, 32gb ram & a 4070 TI Super. Wireless would be nice but I’d rather be wired if it means better performance on steam VR titles. Can anyone recommend a good headset ?

Has anyone with the crystal light playing MSFS 2024 seen row of green dots intermittently shooting across the screen in a horizontal line about 1/3 up the field of view? I trying MSFS 2024 again on a $1 trial. I know this sim isn't ready for prime time but I haven't seen this before. Everything works perfectly in 2020.

Howdy all ya'll, old VR flight simmer here, started 3 decades ago in 1995 on the Forte VFX-1. So first of all my PC, it's a 14900Ks with 64GB DDR5 and 2TB 990pro SSD, I play both DCS World and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020/24 equally I just managed to sell both my rtx3090 and VARJO AERO for an excellent price. Now the questions, first the GPU, is an used 4090 for $2,000 a good choice? Or should I splurge a whopping $3,500 for a brand new rtx5090 suprim liquid? But the most important one, should I just buy a Somnium VR1, since they started shipping? Or wait next month to get a MeganeX Superlight 8K instead? Lastly and this might be…

I am experiencing very poor tracking with my new Pimax light. Coming from a G2, I am disappointed to say the least. I have decided to go hardware tracking. I have invested in a lighthouse faceplate, but I am not clear on what brand or model or how many VR base stations I need to have. Advice appreciated. I appreciate any help you can provide.
