Hello all, I have the chance of getting either an Aero or VR-3, and disregarding the VR-3 annual subscription, which one is better for fs2020? (with reasons, if you are able)...or are both equally good? I always wondered aswell why the VR-3 has two cables connected into a PC via 2 separate Display Port cables compared to the Aero's single connection...any particular reason? and does this make things better or worse, or makes no significant difference? Thanks...

I've been working with Varjo and the computer builder on this issue for over a month now, and no one has made progress. It's a lighting issue in VR, and I suspect it's due to a faulty graphics card because it occurs in both the HP Reverb G2 and the Varjo XR-3 on one computer but not on another computer with identical settings, graphics driver, and Windows updates. Here's a video detailing the issue: The suspect graphics card has passed several diagnostics and tests that Varjo and the builder asked me to run. I've found plenty of other tests with my own searches, but I don't really know what tests would be appropriate to run on it. This is either a r…

Hi, does anyone have any experience using this controller for MSFS steam version? It will basically be used in the external and drone views. I've got a joystick and keyboard and mouse that will do the rest for me but using a controller is alot more smoother to use on the showcase views. Ive tried using my PS4 controller and for some reason doesn't keep my settings and always adds another device to the control tab even though I've only the 1 controller and doesn't keep my bindings? TIA

Not sure if this should be here or the VR hardware forum. <shrug> I remember trying this several years ago and VR worked well for most of the default FSX planes but not so well with payware stuff. Has this been patched and improved? I also see the Reverb or Index is not listed, only 'Supports Oculus Rift and Vive!'. Does it work on the Reverb?

  8. If i understand correctly that is possible, right? Facebook/ Meta will stop supporting the existing oculus account in 2023 that i created for Rift CV1 years ago. But they also mention that the devices used prior to 2023 will continue to work albeit without the added options a facebook account would provide (i guess for socializing apps and so on). So, if I purchase a Quest 2 today I can still use my oculus account to plug the device in, get it going, and continue to use the device without any account (oculus nor facebook) after 2023 for flightsimming ?

  9. Hey there first time posting My girlfriend has just completed her 6th hour in a Cessna 152. I want to surprise her for her birthday (September) by purchasing a setup for her. I need the entire lot from PC to simulator package and controls. I literally know nothing but gather starting packages are around £2,000. She can set this up at hers or in my 2nd bedroom - I dont know if I need to upgrade to a high speed broadband as I have regular fibre optic from BT. Literally any advice you can give me would be incredibly helpful I will be looking through this forum a lot Thanks

Hello everyone, I urgently need your help. Specs: i7-12700k RTX 2080 Super 32 GB RAM 2133Mhz Settings: Oculus Rift S performance on RTX and OXR toolkit SU9 - #7 by FSC719 1 Latly I played around in the settings to get VR working properly. I got 35 FPS in PMDG 737 when spawning right on the runway with engines on. Then when I turn my head it went down to 25 which is still pretty good. But then I tried a full flight and FPS went down very fast. At first I had around 30 FPS on the stand with a CPU Usage of only 20% and GPU at around 80 - 90%. From there on it got worse. at pushback I only had 15 left. At takeoff when looking around it got to 5. Then…

  16. I recently ran into this issue and I'm wondering if anyone else has and, if so, what solution was found to fix it. I've tried mapping the Pimax sound directly in PF3, changing lots of different sound settings, reinstalling PF3 along with the DirectX files it needs and none of it has worked. I sent my logs to Dave and he said from everything he sees that it should be working. In fact, it does work when I use my other headphones that are not part of the Pimax headset, so I know it's not PF3 itself that is the problem. So if anyone else has had an issue and/or solution I would love to know about it! Robert

I go to the flightplan, select "install", the install window will come up, I press "install with oci", and nothing happens. No flightplans installed. Apparently it is a bug with Windows 10 language, however I did the supposed fix which is to switch to english (I was already on English), so I switched to a variety of english languages, restarting every time, still didn't solve the problem. Any ideas?

I have posted this elsewhere in another thread, but it was really off-topic and thought it should have it's own thread here in the VR section. I'll just paste it below for those of you who might be interested in knowing about it: For those of you who'd like to experience some flying using only your VR hand controllers, and not being forced to use your mouse & flightsim hardware, give VTOL VR a try. It's something like a "lite" version of DCS, but was built specifically for vr from the ground up. This means that every switch, knob, dial and control surface in your cockpit is interactive and all cockpit instrumentation and textual displays are clear and…

Hi All. I am using Oculus Quest 2 in VR with p3dv5. Ideally I'd like to get Little NavMap into my VR cockpit, but I'm not sure about the best software to do this ( Flyinside is great with p3dv4.5 for this, but not compatible with p3dv5) So, help please: anyone got LNM - or any moving map - in their p3dv5 VR cockpit...if so, how? Many thanks for help/advice/info, Don.

I have recently gotten back into flying vr after upgrading my system. I haven't flown P3d for some time in vr. Now that I am attempting to do so again I am having an issue with the menu that is normally at the top of the screen in non vr mode shows up as a box to the left of the cockpit in vr and I can't get rid of it no matter what I try. I tried the hold alt function to hide the menu but to no avail. Scot

After installing SU8 all of my clickspots in VR have shifted to the right. Very hard to set up a flight when you can't push the buttons. Anyone else have this issue? Plus whenever I open one of the windows in VR an resize them when I hide and bring them back up again the size is back to default.

Hey everyone, hoping you can help an amateur out please - if I was building for me I wouldn't be so cautious and have a good idea of a non-VR set up, but I'm not and I don't know VR so... Budget (including currency): Fundraising towards required total, prioritising plus stretch goals, although "reasonably justifiable" cost. Country: UK Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: P3D, DCS World, MSFS2020, etc - potentially with VR element Other details: A charity youth group I'm involved with are looking to upgrade their flight simulator set up, as it currently has an HD7970 and AMD 5800K installed and is running FS2004 - pretty sure that we ca…

Hello everyone; Recently I've gone back to flying airliners in P3D. I've read the setup suggestions and have applied them. However, I'm not getting the results I hoped for... Except I am! Let me explain. When P3D is NOT the main window highlighted (IE when the top bar is white), my VR frames are amazing. When P3D is my main window, the frames are very choppy. I had this issue before and tried to search to find the cause, but was unable to find it. Does anyone have a fix or have encountered this problem as well? For reference i9900k OC to 4.7 Reverb G1 (Using Windows Mixed Reality, fpsVR beta, with SteamVR) Nvidia 2080ti
