Hi Everyone,

I only fly in VR using a Quest 3 and looking to upgrade something with a budget of about £750 to give me better VR clarity/quality. Your thoughts on wether I should change RTX 4070 Ti card to the AMD RX 9070 XT or keep my RTX 4070 Ti card and purchase a Pimax Crystal Light instead...or is there anything else worth considering?

	Your thoughts please.

Also some hardware questions.

	Hello!

Thought about VR for quite some times but for a good while i didn't felt like putting that kind of money into it, but now with Steam Frame on the horizon and stuff like Meta Quest 3 i have to evaulate on that one.

My problem would be too fold: as the topic title says i have visual impairment which contains of the fallowing:
-Nystagmus [uncontrollable eye movement, in my case along the x axis]
-Strabismus [misaligement of the eyes]
-Dominant right eye [5% to 15% left to right which doesn't sound like much but for the average reader: this text becomes unreadably blurry on a 1440p monitor from 50cm with my right eye, with my left eye it's unreadable even if i licking the monitor. 😄]
-Supression [The brain supresses the weaker eye in favour of the dominant.]

Those anyone with any of these conditions experience with VR? How it went?

The hardware part:
With a RTX4070 super, Ryzen7 7700, 32gig ddr5 6000mhz ram, WD Black SN750 1TB Nvme would be possible to use VR in any capacity? If yes than which existing or upcoming [like steam frame] would be in the reasonable range of my system?
[At the moment for Star Citizen, but i would like to try out MFS2024, WT sim battles etc when i finally get a HOSAS.]

	Questions…

Are these shimmer/jitter artifacts typical with MSFS VR on AMD GPUs?

Any recommended MSFS VR graphics settings for 7900 XT + Quest 3?

 Best settings for:

 Render scale

 TAA vs DLSS/FSR

 OpenXR configuration (if applicable)

Any known AMD-specific tweaks for VR stability?

Could headset fit / lens inserts / astigmatism contribute to perceived shimmer, or is this almost always rendering-related?

	Goal

	Trying to get:

 smoother image (less shimmer/jitter)

 improved cockpit clarity

stable VR experience for longer flights

Any tips or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated.

	Thanks in advance!

Sounds like the “super” series wont be hitting the shelves anytime soon. Really wanted to get something with 24g of Vram but…

Could pick up a 5070 ti with 16g at MSRP, to replace my 3080 10g. That’s the real bottleneck for me.
Opinions? Running 2024.

I do all my flying in MSFS2020 in VR using a MeganeX Superlight 8K VR headset. Primarily flying the iFly 737 MAX8 online on Vatsim to/from payware airports. Many of them rather complex.

My current rig consists of a 13900K with a 5090 and 64 GB RAM. The performance is OK but I don't have that perfect smoothness I see when flying a less complex aircraft to smaller airports. I suppose that will be hard to achieve with the hardware we have available to us today but if I could at least see a noticeable improvement by rebuilding my rig, I would be willing to give it a try.

On that note, one thought that crossed my mind and especially after seeing how the bottleneck mostly seems to be the main thread is if it could be worth giving a fast AMD CPU a second try. Earlier this year when I still had a 4090 and a Varjo Aero, I did that test but ended up going back to my current system. This after not seeing much of an improvement if any in VR. In 2D mode, I did see an improvement.

What I'm thinking now when I have a 5090 instead of the 4090 I had last time I tried. And in combination with seeing how MSFS2020 is bottle-necked by the main thread, I'm thinking replacing my CPU with a fast AMD maybe is exactly what I need to get the most out of my 5090/my system. Potentially seeing a better improvement than last time, this time with a more powerful GPU. Sadly, I don't recall when I tried last time where the bottleneck was - the CPU or the GPU.

Anyone in here have any experience with a quick AMD CPU together with a 5090? With the MeganeX Superlight 8K or a similar headset?

As for fast AMD CPUs, last time I got the 9800X3D but now we have the 9950X3D. More expensive but if that CPU would help getting the most out of my 5090 and the best possible smoothness, I would be happy to pay that extra money. I see how the 9950X3D comes with 16 cores. Where the 9800X3D comes with 8 cores.

Not sure how much of a difference that makes in MSFS (2020 and 2024). What I do remember though is how I found the 9800X3D to perform considerably worse than my current 13900K for other things than MSFS. Such as multitasking, unzipping files etc. Which I assume was because the lower number of cores.

For that reason alone (since I do like to have a quick system not only when running MSFS), I would be willing to get the 9950X3D over the 9800X3D even when more expensive. As long as it doesn't perform worse than the 9800X3D in MSFS for whatever reason.

Any input or thoughts on this highly appreciated!

One PC will be Windows 10 and the other WIndows 11. KVM with audio mixer? Or something else that will allow viewing the BIOS from the two PCs using one monitor. The goal is to run MSFS 2020 on Windows 10, and using one button press, run and view MSFS 2024 running on the Windows 11 PC with the Quest 3. Model and brand recommendation would be really nice. Thank you.

So I’m wanting to get my first pc vr headset, I’ve had a psvr in the past & it was ok, I guess I’m looking for something with good visuals & clarity.

	Pc is amd running a Ryzen 7 5700x3d, 32gb ram & a 4070 TI Super.

Wireless would be nice but I’d rather be wired if it means better performance on steam VR titles.

Can anyone recommend a good headset ?
Has anyone with the crystal light playing MSFS 2024 seen row of green dots intermittently shooting across the screen in a horizontal line about 1/3 up the field of view?

I trying MSFS 2024 again on a $1 trial. I know this sim isn't ready for prime time but I haven't seen this before.

	Everything works perfectly in 2020.

	Morning to all,

I intend to buy a new HOTAS and hesitate between several, especially LOGITECH X 52 pro or LOGITECH X56. But open-minded to other HOTAS :)

	Advices would be appreciated.

Howdy all ya'll, old VR flight simmer here, started 3 decades ago in 1995 on the Forte VFX-1.

	So first of all my PC, it's a 14900Ks with 64GB DDR5 and 2TB 990pro SSD,

I play both DCS World and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020/24 equally

I just managed to sell both my rtx3090 and VARJO AERO for an excellent price.

Now the questions, first the GPU, is an used 4090 for $2,000 a good choice?

Or should I splurge a whopping $3,500 for a brand new rtx5090 suprim liquid?

But the most important one, should I just buy a Somnium VR1, since they started shipping?

Or wait next month to get a MeganeX Superlight 8K instead?

Lastly and this might be off topic but since we're here, which of the combos (HMD/GPU) above

would be ALSO good to play Hot dogs, horseshoes & hand grenades (h3vr) in addition to flight sims?

	Thanks everyone, stay safe!

PS:I already have and happily use 4 Lighthouse 2.0 Basestations, I do not like markerless inside out tracking.

I am experiencing very poor tracking with my new Pimax light. Coming from a G2, I am disappointed to say the least.

I have decided to go hardware tracking.

I have invested in a lighthouse faceplate, but I am not clear on what brand or model or how many VR base stations I need to have.

	Advice appreciated.

I appreciate any help you can provide.

how to scale HP Reverb G2 world proportions? In a businessjet I have the impression to be in a little Piper or with Alien Isolation to bang my head on the door frames.

As the title says, anyone out there successfully set up the PCL on Condor 3?

I ran Condor 2 with a Pimax 8Kx and it took a bit of fiddling around, picking brains and a hefty slice of googling...any help would be much appreciated!!

SimXR instructions say to use Virtual Desktop passthrough feature. Is that a separate utility or is it a part of the Quest 3? If part of the Quest 3, how does one get to configure?
