Hi all, I must be doing something wrong but I am having a hard time getting P3D to work with my new G2. (Just to dismiss any issues with the Headset I can confirm that it is working properly as I tested it under FS2020 and everything works fine). When I start VR in P3D (HMD Emulator), I can see VR (2 screens) on my monitor, the WMR program starts, but for some reason I cannot see P3D in the VR headset, I can only see the Mixed Reality Portal. I am not sure what to do, is there some sort of starter guide I could refer to? Thank you in advance! John

I have problem in P3D 5.1 with getting sound in the headset speakers. But it seem to be only certain sounds like the engine. Sometimes no sound at all other times I get the sound in the ordinary computer speakers and occasionally it has worked as intended. During last test with plane Extra 300, while in 2D there was sound. After enabled VR no sound in the headset speakers but instead in the ordinary speakers. Same experience with A2A plane. And I have checked that in the accusim sound menu that the headsets speakers were selected. Of course I have configured windows to use the headset speakers when I wear it. So how to do to get it working correctly ?

I have seen many comments regarding the problem with the latest Oculus Rift 6 upgrade causing flashing in MSFS2020. I am at my wits end trying to find a solution. As far as I can make out, Oculus seems to be ignoring everyone. Is there a solution out there that I have missed? Is it perhaps possible to download a previous version of the driver, and if so where? Any help would be much appreciated.

I got my G2 last saturday and was like a kid on christmas. After a long wait and countless emails and phonecalls to HP Store I finally got my headset. Good times....right? Sadly, that feeling slowly started to fade to grey when I noticed the limited sweetspot. At first I wondered if they edges were not clean after removing those plastic protectors but no...after cleaning the issue is still there. It's not about me not being able to find the sweetspot. I am in it and everything in the sweetspot is crystal clear. Like real life and truly amazing and for sure a new VR generation. However, moving your pupils juuust outside that little area and you suddenly notice the sh…

Hi All. New here; second post. Old pilot and aviation simster; flying Oculus Rift and Quest 2 with CH controls; presently building a motion simulator. I bought my actuators, electronics, and software from a company called SimXperience; they are mostly about car racing simulators but the manufacturer does say the operating software (Sim Commander) will work with MSFS, DCS, and XP. I'd like to fly those three sims plus IL2 / Flying Circus and P3D. Everything I've been able to find online so far seems to indicate it will work but I'd like to hear from those with experience. Has anyone here ever used Sim Commander to operate a motion platform in an aviat…

Hi All, Since yesterday, my brand new Oculus Quest 2 and Link Cable is no longer being seen correctly by windows 10 (which I updated to the latest patches over the weekend). It was working fine before....windows now sees it (as an external usb drive F:\) and how the Oculus software does not see it being connected. Is anyone else having this problem? I submitted a ticket to Oculus about it last night.... Any ideas? Thanks, Jim ***SOLVED*** - I re-ran the Oculus Quest setup, re-attached the Link cable, and everything works again as it should....weird....

I experiences crashes to desktop with P3D when using my HP Reverb G2. I think it is when I brings up a menu with the controller. I return to the 3D villa and discovered that P3D was not running any more. Does anyone recognize this and know a solution ?

Hi guys. Hope all ok with all Just swapped my Rift S with an Reverb G1 and noticed immediately the narrow FOV. Basically Rift S made usage of the full FOV and the G1 narrows is to a point i can' have any sort of peripheral view. I've seen in other forums what it looks like a fix for P3D v5 but nothing for v 4.5. Something called "enable hidden area mesh" If anyone had the same issue can you point me on the right direction for a fix? Thanks in advance👍

First I will cover the if question. A VR headset is very expensive so it has to offer me very much for me to spend the money. The flightsim I uses are MSFS P3D V5 XP11 and DCS. I might point out that I use track ir now. Does VR work fine in all these titles ? Since it is such an expensive product I would also expect to enjoy it in other games. And from what I understand very few games support VR. At least I get that impression when looking at Steam. So what can I expect from VR headset. My impression are the following correct me if I am mistaken First of course a world in 3D which gives a completely new immersion factor. The instruments are full realistic si…

Well, I now had the experience with all three, and in my opinion, the order of feel are in descendent order: MS2020 and P3Dv4.5 then XP11.51 (Vulkan). Ignore the flight model with the planes in MSFS2020, the visual with MSFS2020 is very good in my view. P3D v4.5 also performs well, although the graphics is dated with land class based sceneries. With XP11, the effect looks blurry and looking down at the ground from 1000-2000FT I have the feeling like I am looking at a magnified glass with the roads looked much larger than real life. In 2D, XP11 with Photoscenery is comparable to MSFS 2020 but in VR, it feels a bit strange. Obviously, this is just my observation and I …

I'm not sure if this question should be here but I could not find another place for it. My question is in regards to AFTERBURNER by MSI. It does not seem to display the correct FPS. When i compare the results of Fraps and the built in frame counters in Windows fs2020 the FPS display of Afterburner is completely way off. For example Fraps and FS2020 show me 40 FPS more or less depending on my settings, but Afterburner shows me over 180 FPS more or less and is consistently in the low hundreds. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem and if so, how to fix it.

I posted this in the P3D forum, but thought I would also try here 🙂 I recently upgraded from a Rift S to the G2 and have been having a few strange issues with VR in P3D v4.5. After about 30 minutes flying I am getting big stutters every few seconds. I spent a lot of time trouble shooting and have narrowed it down to the mouse (yes I know, weird). When I move the mouse around the cockpit to interact with switches the stuttering occurs. The minute I let go of the mouse it stops (even with the white dot curser still showing on the screen). When this occurs the Steam VR graph (which normally has orange/red lines) has black blank areas corresponding …

Hi all, I am getting stutters using the cable for virtual desktop (BETA) plugged into the case USB 3.0 port. As a test I bought and ran the Occulus virtual desktop which allows no cable. The stutters were significantly better using the wireless in MSFS, but I don't know how to do this in P3d? In P3d with the link cable, one just selects virtual desktop and selects the VR > Occulus and voila. However, using the wireless virtual desktop, I am having no joy. Both options (Steam / Occulus) don't activate VR in the headset, even though it's displaying VR on my monitor. So, 2 folded question, 1) Any way to improve the perf…

I'm coming from the Oculus platform CV1 and more recently Rift S. I've used VR with Native P3dv5, Flyinside P3Dv4, v3 and earlier builds of XP11. My Xplane11 (11.5) is stand alone and not via steam. So one of the 1st things I had to do to get my new Reverb G2 running XPlane 11 was to go to the Steam store and download Mixed Reality Portal for Windows. So that's tip 1. Having uninstalled P3Dv5 and v4 as those platforms are dead to me with what's coming in MSFS, I'm just currently using Xplane11 while I still love P3Dv3 since I can use the PMDG with FS2Crew. The trade off is I will just have to wait a few years to get that back it seems as well as my A2A fleet. Next iss…

Has anyone had success in getting the Sony PSVR working with FS2020 in proper VR mode? I tried yesterday and managed to get FS2020 started in VR mode using the iVRy driver, however it was not proper VR rather it was in cinematic mode which is bascially useless for VR immersion as it just looks like you are looking at a cinema screen. When I try switching to VR mode within FS2020 using CTRL TAB, FS2020 just closes. The SteamVR home room works just fine in proper VR mode, so it's not like the PSVR can't do real VR on a PC. Any suggestions?

Set everything to default and placed MSFS at default settings netted me 67FPS in vr. I am now adding higher settings (in the sim only) to see how things go. Version 0.87.0 - Created by ApollyonVR ([email protected]) *** NOTE: You need to run this application as Administrator in order to change certain options *** and to retrieve the Oculus Library paths from the registry. Right-click and choose *** "Run as Administrator" when you start it manually. * Removed option "Set OVR Server Priority to 'Above Normal'. * Added new dropdown option for OVR Server priority on the Game Settings tab. I received my G2 today but could barely test it because P3D v5.1 HF1 started throwing its VRAM tantrum again. The strange thing is that it works fine with the G1 - I only ever get VRAM OOMs or hung errors when switching in and out of VR a lot when I'm testing settings, but it never happens when I actually fly so that's fine. Now with the G2 I'm constantly running into VRAM OOMs and hung errors to a point at which I don't even have a chance to get into VR most of the time. I'm using the same settings. I've tried some things like updating my GPU drivers so far but nothing helped. I've now reduced all my settings to the lowest possible. This has eliminated the issue so …

Having recently upgraded to a decent 3090 GPU, I am now looking to upgrade my old 6700k CPU to something that is likely to keep me happy for as many years to come as possible. I have been waiting for the new Ryzen 5900x to become available to anyone but the bots, having identified that as the most likely candidate for what I'm seeking. FWIW, I ONLY USE THIS PC FOR SIMMING, and will very likely only be using MSFS for the next several years. So I'm looking for hardware to maximize my experience in THAT program -- and am not interested in any compatibility with any other 'gaming' platforms. I was very surprised just now when a user on a FB thread to…

Hello. I'm very disappointed with the VR-performance on my newly built high end system on Prepar3d v4.5 ( most current version 😞 Here are the specs: - i9 10900kf ( NOT overclocked ) - RTX 3080 - 32GB RAM (DDR3200) - MSI Z490 Gaming carbon WiFi - 1200W power - Oculus Rift S - WIN10 ( completely up to date ) - latest nvidia driver 461.09 - no nvidia profile inspector tweaks - nvidia control panel set to "prefer maximum performance" - NO P3D.cfg tweaks I've installed the following add-ons: - Oculus Tray Tool ( Supersampling set to 1.6 / ASW OFF / HIGH CPU PRIORITY ) - ORBX Global B…

Hi, having been a long tiime Oculus Rift user on flyinside I received my HP Reverb G2 today. I eagerly tried it out with SteamVR and the inbuilt VR in P3DV4.5. The visuals are indeed greatly improved. The two things I find a bit annoying are the rather small sweet spot so that you constantly have to move your head instead of just your eyes in order to see something clearly. Also the tracking doesn't work quite as expected as there are frequent erratic movements that I swear are not caused by my head movements 😉 Maybe I'll figure out how to get rid of those. Anyway: the thing I really liked about flyinside was that I could display external programs in a wi…
