Hello. I´m planning to Setup a new Rig for P3D v4.5 and the upcoming FS2020. The Flightsimulator will be used exclusively in VR ( Oculus Rift S ). The PC itself will serve as a platform for Flightsimulators only, no other Applications will be run on this System. Primary, the Simulator will be used in conjunction with PMDG 747 / FS2Crew / complex Scenery ( Airports ) / Active Sky / Ultimate Traffic 2, so basically in a classic Airliner-Environment. At present, my System consists of the following Components: i7 4770k MSI Z45 Gaming 16GB RAM Gigabyte 980ti 6GB VRAM WIN10 1803 The Performance with the current Syste…

Did this bug ever get fixed or did I miss something ? this is when you go into PMDG virtual cockpit in VR, and you see this large, blank white 2D panel smack in the middle of your view. The workaround was/is setting '2D transparency" to 100%. But having just completed a 4.5 HF3 fresh start install, this bug is still there ? Can anyone comment ? I am surprised it's never been addressed....its been around since early 4.x cant even remember when. I use Oculus VR. cheers.

I was wondering if any VR users have used the Leonardo Maddog MD-84 and could give some feedback with regards to its performance, readability, etc? I use a vive pro with 150% oversample in steamvr. I have had decent performance in 4.5 with the PMDG NGXu and Majestic Q400. I am currently using P3d 5.0 Any insight is appreciated

Hi , when using specifically the quality wings 787 ,( but I’ve also seen the effect on some other aircraft), from a distance the EFIS screens seem to sparkle in VR and aren’t readable . If I move my head nearer the screens they become crystal clear , but I have to to be too near them to realistically fly. Its as though there are series of fine diagonal black lines running through the screens breaking up the information displayed when I look carefully, although other textures in the flight deck remain crystal clear it’s just the displays. The EFIS screens on the PMDG 747 don’t suffer with this effect and look as they should but the QW 787 awful. I’m sure it’s ju…

I have an Oculus Rift S. I recently tried V5 of P3D with Stereo VR enabled as opposed to single pass. This is required to experience the "Enhanced Atmospherics" feature, such as fluffy clouds and so on. The performance was not acceptable. With only 'single pass' enabled, as opposed to stereo, it's fine but there are no fluffy clouds. Since my CPU is an 3.6gHz i9-9900K, and RAM is 32GB, replacing the 1060 GTX card seems to be the next move. I don't want to spend a great amount on this, so am thinking of getting a GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER, but is it enough? Will that really make a significant difference to the performance? I don't want to spend any money just to get…

Hi, After my first negative test experience in January with the Samsung Odyssey 1.0 version, I collected the new HP Reverb in the second release with the improved cable connectors and started testing with it in P3Dv 4.5, Xplane11 and Aerofly and let me start to say that I was blown out of the water with the resolution and the overall sharpness compared to the Samsung 1st edition. Crisp and Crystal Clear Cockpits and very good outside views with outstanding resolutions. The last six months I became more and more a XPlane11 fan and now I see that their native VR implementation is also very well done BUT... Something funny appears because I found out that the best …

Hello all, Hope you are all well and beating this COVID-19 wherever in the world you may be. I am,and have been for a long while, been interested in VR, but I do seek a little further information before indulging my dream purchase. I own a fairly full suite of Saitek controllers (yoke, pedals, trim wheel and two throttle quadrants) which I would like to retain and use with any future VR purchase. (Muscle memory??) I am looking at an Occulus Rift S or the Quest and combining that with hand tracking. I have seen These VR headsets advertised as being compatible with hand tracking, but I can't find where I could purchase the hand tracking device, now how muc…

I have a Throttle Quad that is connected to a Flight Yoke System playing Flight simulator via Steam. I am having issues assigned the throttle controls. The software i downloaded for the Quad stops where it shows the Quad being connected by a USB connection - my connection is via a round plug similar to a keyboard connection. Do I need the USB connection? when plugged in the quad does show power - it doesn't show up on the list of devices in the flight sim control panel as does the Yoke system

Off and on I've used Oculus Tray Tool. On because I feel it 'ought' to work and Off because it doesn't. To clarify; I set OTT P3D profile to ASW Off as well as the default ASW to Off. Simple enough request. However, when the sim loads (OTT IS set to recognise P3D and yes OTT starts with Windows) I get the horrible jagged wing leading edges, you know the ones, so I then have to go to the Oculus Debug tool which I keep a handy shortcut on my desktop.ASW mode is still set to 'Auto'. Change it to Off and we're good to go. Anyone else see this, if so, did you find a cure?

I am looking for a recommendation for a combat flight sim, preferably with modern aircraft. Something in DCS I guess? There's so many different aircraft, and campaign DLC. I'd like something reasonably realistic, with decent missions. I used to love F4, if anyone's played that, and would like to get a similar feel in VR. Suggestions welcome. Not VTOL..

Hi folks, I am looking to use an eGPU to help run X-Plane11 and DSC World on the Pimax 5K XR OLED 200 deg FoV VR head set. I am thinking I might need to up the X1E's i9 to 32GB of RAM from 16GB considering how CPU intensive X-Plane 11 is and then use a Razor Core X eGPU enclosure. Now I am then trying to decide between a GTX 1080ti and an RTX 2080. Pimax recommend a GTX 1070 or greater. With the latency of Thunderbird 3 and the fact that I will only be using 4 pcie 3.0 lanes rather than 16 am I on the right eGPU path?

I anticipate that MSFS2020 will be VR ready somewhere 2021 and only THEN will i build a new super gaming pc system, not sooner. Currently i am OK flying VR Rift CV1 with Flyinside and FSXSE with framerates varying between 5-20. Since the FPS in the cockpit is 90 i do not really care that much if the world around me only updates with low framerate like 20 FPS max. What I do find frustrating is that i am very often getting memory issues (VAS running full) due to the Orbx global, vector, openlc areas etc..... or the mousecursor dissappearing after a while, That, together with some texture issues (airport buildings dissappear at night) i think has to do with Flyinsi…

Never get the correlation between AA and Shimmer with a high end GPU. In the latest X-Plane11 update to the modern Vulkan engine there is a much better spread over all the CPU cores and can achieve very high CPU and GPU performance maximum settings at a very, very good frametime and easy getting 80-100 fps in dens areas in Monitor config but it's still NOT possible in VR to crank up to let's say 4xSSAA to get rid of the shimmer effect I can't see on the 1080P PC monitor. In 2D monitor config I can get complete Aliasing free with only FXAA and can even go all op to 8x SSAA with still a high end performance from my CPU and GPU and similar to the readings I collect fro…

Hi Guys I have wanted to overclock my system for sometime to see if I can gain better performance using my Oculus Rift but obviously dont want to cook my GPU or CPU. My Bios was last updated at Christmas I currently just use a program called Razor cortex which seems to help free up available memory and also to see my system CPU-Z with oculus tray tool running as well. I have seen a program called MSI Afterburner which lets you tune your system, what our your views on this software ? My set up is as follows Gigabyte X470 motherboard, 32gb corsair 3200 ddr4, AMD Ryzen 7 3700X, Ml240 liquid coolmaster, Nvidia GTX1080ti 11gb, 1Tb ssd Seagate drive with about 400gb space for P…

Thought I would give it a try but phone and PC never connect. I followed the tutorials, have the correct version, and a phone that meets all requirements. There does not seem to be much info of help at Riftcat site and there dont seem to be any forums. Does this thing really work? That is: Is it a reasonable approach to simple VR? I just want VR in flight for interior aircraft views. Neal H

Working with Lloyd Kaufman on Djinni & Thaco: Trial by Spire was an amazing experience! He was really great and always shows a lot of support for independent creators. https://www.thegamer.com/lloyd-kaufman-djnni-thaco/
