Hi,I know it has been asked kind of frequently but without any real answers/ options (maybe because there aren't). So any personal experiences from you would be MOST welcome. Is there a ways to change the mouse pointer in VR? I thought maybe there was a chance to change an .ico or .ani, but it seems to be hard coded. Is it possible to at least change its size? What about its hover color? The hover color change is very subtle.Switch interaction with mouse its one of the most important issues I am facing right now in VR native (don't want to go back to FlyInside).Any help will be most appreciated.Thank you.

  3. Lately, I've started having issues with a secondary VGA display when I launch Mixed Reality Portal. What happens is how I see in the menu accessed by pressing Win+P how it says 'Extend' rather than 'PC screen only' after I launched Mixed Reality Portal. Even when I still only have the screen on my main display while the second display is left blank not receiving any signal. When this happens, I have to go to Nvidia Control Panel->Displays->Set up multiple displays and manually check my second display to make it come alive. And by doing so, matching what the Win+P menu tells me...'Extend'. No idea why Mixed Reality Portal started messing with my second displ…

I have a problem where the frame rate in P3D v4.5 decreases within a few minutes of starting. Starting rate is 30 fps, and after a few minutes it is less than 8 fps. I have all the sliders turned down, when I'm not in VR I get 90fps. I also run DCS which works just fine in VR mode. Specs: Oculus Rifts S. PC is i7 9600 running at 4.6GHz, 16GB Ram, Nvidia gtx1070 - I have updated all drivers. Add ons are Orbx and Chaseplane. Any help would be greatly apprecaited. Raj

Just hope that some-one can advise me, using X Plane 11 as well as Dirt Rally I have found that the Rift S graphics much poorer than I have seen on You Tube (through the lens). Out of focus/fuzzy and have difficulty in reading some of the cockpit dials as well as distance but the main problem and I think this is called screen door (please correct me if I'm wrong) but the display is rather like putting your eyes right up to a TV screen, like looking out of a mesh screen. Absolutely love VR but this is my first experience and nothing like the videos of the Rift S through the lens I have watched. Does VR visibly show a meshy screen as you …

  9. Since using it more and more I'm beginning to wonder of VR's side affects. Short term is easy; nausea, headaches, dizziness and eye fatigue. But what about down the road several years using VR for an hour or 2 every day? Are we damaging our eyes with the brightness and constant focus? Is repeated nausea and dizziness bad for our inner ears or brain? Is the band of electronics wrapped round our head and face bombarding us with harmful radio waves? Time to wear a tin foil beanie under our HMD? Legitimately curious.

For those using rift s make sure you are on public test channel since the last release before Jan there has been performance issues . The lates PTC offers a fix , not a magical cure you can still easily overload your graphics card with P3D but may help in some scenarios. I have seen better performance at high graphics settings. Released two days ago.

  11. Maybe You can advice good effects for VR for better smoothness? I noticed that if you have motion reprojectiion "on" P3D has small problem with effects in VR mode (or better to say motionreprojection has this problem). It looks like a stutter in some of the situlation: if you are on the water (float plane, spray effects = worse FPS ) and on airstrips (ground, not hard runways, I noticed it also). On "normal" runway they are ok. Worse FPS = worse motion reprojections and stutter on the picture. For example i remember this (didn't try yet in VR mode), but the are lighter and looks good: FSX/Prepar3D V4 McCoy Water Landing Effect v4 …

At this point I would highly discourage anyone from buying a Windows Mixed Reality VR headset. Not that there is anything particularly wrong with the headsets. I find the Samsung Odyssey+ great. But the Windows Mixed reality software is word not allowed! You start steam VR before starting Prepar3D and it should all work fine. But once I am ready to fly I enter VR Mode in Prepar3D and put the headset on at which point WMR decides to make the desktop and unusable and at the same time freezes P3D. Lift up the headset over your eyes press Start + Y to return use of the destop and then click on the P3D icon in the task bar. What a comple…

Evening all , Apologies If this has been discussed previously , I couldn't find any posts when I searched. So , the problem I have is a slightly different view in P3D VR - what I mean is , for example at night the image in the right eye would be darker than the left (which causes things to look .. odd!) , also during the day the clouds look smoother in the left eye than the right - so it creates this kind of nauseating problem. I know its not my eyes as everything else is fine , and this problem has been mentioned generally online before but with no solutions .. sorry its vague , but any advice would be welcome! Jim

  19. Lately (I think it was after SteamVR was updated to 1.9.16) I've noticed I sometimes when I start SteamVR (and Windows Mixed Reality Portal being started in the background) get like some kind of blue flashes in the SteamVR room when moving my head. Luckily, I don't get any blue flashes in X-Plane. Also, I've noticed how I only get these blue flashes in SteamVR when X-Plane is running. When X-Plane isn't running, everything is normal. What I find a bit strange is I get the problem even before switching to VR in X-Plane. All it takes for the blue flashes to occur in SteamVR is having X-Plane running in the background. Another issue, and this time unfortunately in X-Pla…

I purchased a Rift S to see if the visual quality and improvements in SDE were better than the CV1 to warrant $360. I have had the CV1 since it came out and have hundreds of hours using it in P3D. Setup of the RIft S was very easy. Visual quality was better than the CV1, but, not by a bunch. SDE was less than the CV1, but, was still present. SDE was about 50% less visible. Rift S was very comfortable, even when wearing glasses. If I had kept it I would not have needed to purchase prescription lenses for it, just wear my glasses. I use a DOF Reality H3 motion platform. One of the issues with VR and motion platforms is the VR's loss of its hom…

  22. Might be a while to see our sims supported though....... https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/news/nvidia-geforce-ces-2020-game-ready-driver/ The new feature of interest is called Variable Rate Supersampling: To Improve Image Quality In VR. Variable Rate Supersampling (VRSS) is a new technique to improve image quality in VR games. It uses NVIDIA Variable Rate Shading (VRS), a key feature in NVIDIA’s Turing architecture, to dynamically apply up to 8x supersampling to the center of the VR headset display, where the eye is generally focused. It intelligently applies supersampling only when GPU headroom is available in order to maintain the VR headset fixed FPS…
