Look it up in the store, you can fly it anywhere until you either crash or run out of fuel, then reload and fly some more. Awesome graphics, raining and the effects are awesome. I find it very relaxing.

Update 1.7.15 includes a new VR view, updated icons, and more. https://steamcommunity.com/games/250820/announcements/detail/1599262707999562008 Update Highlights Today's update features big improvements to the VR View window and device status icons. By default, the new VR View is docked to the bottom of the status window with the option to undock or go full screen. If you use the PiMax with P3D, can you please comment on your pro's & con's ? How is it for resolution and comfort ? I want to hear from owners who made the jump and the investment. Thanks,

Hello, i am really into replacing my 1080 24" LG as it so small, and thinking about going VR (rift s, HP)? really confused which one is better. 🙄 mostly flying PMDG birds, the gauge reading/FMC is really important for me. i know you can get best immersion with VR, but what about the small details? how about a nice 55" 4k TV? i know some people here tried and never looked back. i really want to go with VR but really worried about all the side effects ( SDE, fog, controllers, Navigraph) my rig is 8700 and 1080 runs really good with my sim now. i would like to hear your opinions, Thanks .

Wondering if anyone has tried the titan RTX beast in VR. Looking at the reviews comparing my current 2080ti card to the Titan RTX there’s very little FPS difference, however that extra VRAM (24g) would significantly help in VR... wouldn’t it? I haven’t checked how much VRAM headroom I have left when in flight using my Pimax 8k, but since reading Rob A’s recent thread on “So you think you have enough VRAM” makes me wonder if VR is a VRAM eater. I’m away from home for a week so can’t power up the SIM to check the VRAM so hopefully someone has experimented. thx IM

Ok I'll admit it, the title is a bit misleading. I have all of the rift realeases and am pleased with the rift s in general. However I got an email today saying my reserved index is now available to ship and I can't decide if I should go for it. Now the hype has died down I have seen and heard conflicting reviews on the actual resolution step and also that the knuckles aren't as good as you imagine they would be. Has anyone tried both rift s and index with knuckles controllers? Chris

On account of the 'flashes in the headset? Well, get off the fence and into an S! There has been a firmware update today and after mooching about for over an hour on my MP server and DTP server as well as in the 'Home' (don't you just love that cr..?) I didn't see one flash. Normally I would get a minimum 2 flashes an hour to a maximum of 5...ish. Oculus seem to have come through, although I confess I did have my doubts. P.S. This'll come and bite me on the bum I bet.

Ok. Messing with my Rift S this morning. The faceplate comes off easily. I only just realised the button on the unit that does nothing actually allows in and out adjustment! Doh. So under the faceplate is a locking slider. Slide it to unlock, push the button and the unit slides off the halo unit. Unplug the speakers and voila. So hum, hang on a second. For those fast jet jockeys, wouldn’t this make the Rift S so much easier to mount to a lightweight helmet with nice integrated speakers? I’ve done the normal Google search and there doesn’t seem to be a suitable accessory out there. Shame. A lightweight plastic lid, decent speakers built in and a front up …

I figured I'd get a more knowledgeable response here rather than the P3D forum. Stand by: 1: Mouse curser floats about with the head movement, I get that. Can it be stopped? I have the three slider switches set to OFF to no effect. 2: With a combination of head movements and hand movements with the mouse I can get the curser over a switch, nudge it till the opacity changes and...whoosh! The curser dashes off to more important jobs! (sometimes) 3: There are various other selections below the three slider switches concerning reaction times etc. None of which make any discernible difference. I'm beginning to remember one of the reasons I uninstalled P3D! …

As the title says, I’m interested to know which is better if solely for P3d. I don’t plan on playing vr native games. Only sims and maybe a few supported fps games. Seems like a toss up between the two with some saying the rift s is slightly better and some on odyssey plus’s side. Is the text really hard to read on the odyssey plus? Seems like a major factor for P3D since it’s already blurry for me at the default zoom with a 27inch 1440p at 4xSSAA. Also some say Oculus software works better with P3D compared to WMR I’m aware there a lot of other factors as well and I’d like to hear experiences of anyone who used both with P3D before.

While this Blog was started for DCS, you'll find the information relevant to any Flight Simulator VR use. I highly recommend the Tuning section especially for those less technical. The Reverb Setup section, (relevant to any WMR Headset or SteamVR use really) gets you a great view out of the box. There's also a Discord Channel for interaction with folks who have been doing VR for a while. https://vr4dcs.com/

I know I could probably find this out by doing a little research but I though I'd ask the experts here because I'm lazy 🙂 Do WMR or other inside out tracking VR headsets us cameras for tracking only or do they also use accelerometers?

Thought some might find this interesting: Note: Doing this is fairly simple in the Oculus Rift, as the ability is part of the headsets basic software.

I have 0 experience in coding, so i thought i'd use the Leo Bodnar card, but apparently it doesn't work very well with x-plane. So what does? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

241/5000 There is someone who has the warning of lack of illumination in the avitacion, and the blindness of the oculus is blocked, then the screen is black, this happens to me only with prepar, with other games in RV it does not happen to me. Someone has a solution.

After 6+ hours on and off with the Rift S, I'm at sort of a crossroads. Absolutely love the immersive quality of flight. Being able to swing your head to see the runway on base is great. And, I suppose in time, I'll get used to the hand controls so they become second nature. But right now, I have an intel i7-4790K rig with a 1060 video card that runs xplane at around 38 fps in normal non weather, non scenery challenged areas. For me, thats about all i need to run a standard WS monitor and enjoy simulation. With the addition of the Rift, two things happen. one i expected which was to get ready to spend more money on a better pc, but two is the "fuzziness" of the env…

I haven't seen much discussion recently here about Aerofly FS2 and how great their performance is for VR - both in terms of smooth frame rates and image clarity. Even in medium complexity areas like ORBX Monterrey, single HD monitor performance is over 300 FPS - so getting 90 fps in VR is easy - and when you really crank up SteamVR SuperSampling to maybe 200% (or Aerofly FS2 internal multiplier to 1.5 or so ), you can read the Q400 instrument panel including the CDU without leaning in and at the same time have a very fluid, non stuttering image with SteamVR reprojection at 45 fps. I also have P3D, DCS, IL-2, Combat Patrol 2 (under slow development ), and enjoy them all bu…

Hi all. I'm in the process of putting together a flight sim setup and my current design has a 2070 super, i7-9700KF (both overclocked by 20%), 16gb of 3200mhz RAM, an Asus Prime z390-p motherboard, 1TB of 3500MB/s and 3000 MB/s write M.2 storage (for p3d), 500gb of extra SSD for other stuff and 2TB of HDD for more random stuff (the PC comes to £1850 with other stuff like wifi modem as well). This will be used with a Logitech X56 Hotas with Logitech rudder pedals and a 1080 x 2560 25" monitor. if you could change any of this what would you recommend around its price range of less? Thanks.
