With my monitor I had a resolution at 3850x2160. If I am using the Rift, should I lower my graphic settings to the max of the Rift specs and will that improve framerate performance? What settings do you recommend that I set for VR?

Hi, I am "addicted" to flight simulation since 10 years beginning with FSX and the PMDG Aircrafts 737,777,747 , more and more Airports Scenerys and Weather engines etc. In the beginning I was playing it on a MacPro 2008 with Windows 7 (Via Bootcamp) but three years ago a got a Sim PC (I7 6700 and GTX 970). Last week I did a update on the graphic card to the RTX 2080, because the 1080ti was not available any more and the 2080ti to expensive. Now my system is running stable on 30 fps in 1920 x 1200 with the frame limiter of the Nvidia Inspector, it drops only in EDDF to 25 fps and EGLL to 20 fps, it would be possible to do a processor update for 34…

One of the things I see asked by people fairly new to Vr (or maybe on the verge of a purchase decision) is how easy is it to fly essentially using just the headset. There are many subsets of the question, including concerns about resolution and readability, but those issues are definitely fading with the new generation of headsets. Anyway, take a look. Topic title says it: Does anyone of you use it, and what do you set it to? I'm asking because of ASW and it's effect on framerates in VR.

Hello and Thanks in advance... As I always try to keep the most updated Computer system Windows 10... always updated and so forth, i have now run into the following conundrum. Before I start Prepar3d 4.4 i activate my VR Samsung Odyssey set it aside then open Spadnext is next and then RAA (run as admin) Prepar3d let it start up... pick parameters of flight and press FLY. Prepar3d will load and the plane is on tarmac and ready to go. everything is good so far I then start up Virtual Reality SteamVR and put on headset and the aircraft sits 5 to 6 feet beneath me... which in the past i just went to pull down menu and reset the viewpoint but now that just…

I was on Windows 10 Version 1809 waiting for the clarity fix that came out yesterday. My update to 1903 surprised me initially by apparently wiping out all my Desktop icons and Documents folders. I couldn't get the WMR portal to start either so I decided to uninstall it. After rebooting my PC, everything (Desktop and Documents ) came back as before and the WMR Portal started installing itself and it remembered my boundaries. I then checked for updates and finally KB4507453 wanted to install. I checked out IL-2, P3D, and Aerofly FS2 which all seemed remarkably clearer ( the "0" zeroes seem really easy to read ) but the reprojection:motionvector seems somewhat an FPS killer…

What are the different methods people are using to interact with buttons, switches, dials, etc. in VR cockpits? I started PMDG's 777 with an Occulus Rift S and it is very good, blew me away actually, and now I'm looking for a way to press the buttons and click the switches. Raj

Hi, I have a Pimax 5K+ .... and it kinda sucks. Great FOV - but that is it. The colors and blacklevels are horrendous! During evening/night flights I am sourrounded by this grey soup....and it is really annoying, and I will never "get used to it" or "adapt" So, the problem is that only the O+ and Vive Pro has OLED screens, the rest are LCD (like my Pimax 5K+). The new HP reverb has insane resolution...but is still a LCD. When I think about it I need a OLED display with Samsung O+ anti screendoor filter at reverb resolutions.....don't we all! What are you guys thinking? Would you go for higher resolution LCD or lower resolution OLED?

STEAM SUMMER SALE 50% OFF ($29.99) https://store.steampowered.com/search/?term=skyrim+vr Do ya' like fantasy worlds? Dragons and magic and swashing your buckle? (huh?) Then Skyrim might be for you, though I warn that if it is, you just might vanish into that fantasy realm in your HMD and never (or at least till dinnertime) be seen again. First, if you've played Skyrim before, but not in Vr, then disabuse yourself that they're the same thing. The sheer immersiveness possible once that 3D headset is on your face is akin to the difference between sitting in a cockpit in vr, and staring at a flat screen, however high its resolution. The operative word here…

Hi guys i just recently got into VR and tried it with HTC Vive basic (bought it for my son) and really enjoyed the experience except for resolutions not being quite up to my liking inside P3D, but it is one of the lowest res head sets. So.. i have been watching various reviews of the flowing HP Reverb, Samsung Odyssey +, Rift S not much about Vive Pro and Flight sim tho... I was very excited about HP Reverb until I watched reviewer going back to his Rift S lol...it was using Xplan11 mind you which i do not use. I use p3D and was wondering if anyone can recommend Rift S vs Vive Pro, the other two (HP Reverb and Samsung) i have scratched off after watching mo…

I have my finger hovering on "complete purchase" for a HTC Vive. It has just become available in the country in which I live (South Africa) and it costs R12500 which is around 885 USD. Does anyone have one? Is it worth it at this stage? I have the rig to run it (i9x, 1080ti, 32G 3400mhz), so I already have this investment. I am just very curious to see P3D in VR, is it really as immersive as everyone describes? I am very interested in your experiences.

Tons of anticipation as we were all told to tune in for the reveal....... and were treated to 13 minutes of a rotating headset. I felt almost as if we were being trolled. Also, rumours point to the headset debuting at the end of August for 899 Euros (Approx $1022 dollars) Perhaps we will get some REAL info, later. (Plus, read the comments)

With writing from David S. Goyer, voice acting by Maya Rudolph, and immersion on a cinematic scale, Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series from ILMxLAB represents an exciting new entry in the Star Wars canon. When Episode I launched alongside Oculus Quest last month, Esquire noted that “Vader Immortal looks absolutely stunning and has a lightsaber experience good enough to live up to your childhood dreams of being a Jedi Master.” And now, that same experience is available on the Rift Platform—in more ways than one. Starting today, everyone on the Rift Platform will get both a red and a green lightsaber as a free interactive item in Oculus Home! In Vader Immortal …

Ugh!!!..... Those are my feelings right now. Just a heads up... For those of you with a rift S. I don't have an older Oculus rift so I don't know if those are affected but I would assume those users might be if the Oculus app software is used for the cv1 headsets. Anyways... I purchased my rift S about 3 weeks ago and it has been superb and flawless. Install was easy and no noted problems with the device or any Oculus software. I was tinkering with battlefield V and realized I couldn't use ray tracing technology because I was on an old w10 build. Build 1803 to be exact. I checked for w10 updates and it said that I could update to build 1903. …

Although I wanted to try XP11 and ATS in VR, my main reason for getting a Rift S was to try and get myself off my feet and moving a bit more. I bought a game called Racket:Nx and its a lot of fun. I bought Space Pirate Trainer and it too is fun but I have a tremor and shooting things is near impossible. I'm looking for recommendations on moderate exercise games. I am seriously considering Beta Saber and First Person tennis and maybe a ping pong game. I've seen a line dancing game that may come out eventually. There was even a Tai Chi instructional 'game' but user reports made me shy away from that. So..are there games you have played that you enjoy quite a…
