  1. This is new and pretty cool. The production values drive home again that Oculus is the headset with all the bucks behind it: And I bet this new intro is specifically designed for the release of the Quest and the Rift S. Very disney-esque, huh?

Hi folks, if you are using Oculus Rift (particularly Home 2.0) then this reddit post is for you: https://www.reddit.com/r/oculus/comments/8uf1sm/oculushomeless_use_dash_without_home_20/ I spend most of my flight time in Rift and frequently use dash to drag in a browser window or navigation tools etc whilst sitting in the cockpit. This functionality is essential to me so I don't have to take off the headset just to look something up on the web whilst flying. The thing I don't need is the (otherwise excellent) home 2.0 chewing up my ram and cpu whilst messing around in dash during flight. Personally this for me has really helped my performance during flights, and …

Hello all, I tried to find a list of P3D airplanes that are supported in the native VR and I cannot. I am seriously considering to move from X-plane 11 if high fidelity models are available. I am very much interested about Aerosoft Airbuses, QW787 and Majestic Dash. How are these working in VR ? Can anyone advise ? Many thanks !

This might be nothing new but I found that using "Application Resolution Adjustment" in fpsVR instead of AA in Prepar3D and other applications does the trick and it seems to be less of an impact on performance then 4xSSAA and gives about the same result to my eye. Set Anti-Aliasing to none in P3D and set "Global Resolution Setting" to 200% and "Application Resolution Adjustment" to 500% for a total for "SteamVR SS" of 1000% I also found a better position on my head for the headset!😍 VR is where its at!😎

  10. This was just anounced by Oculus. There are, however, some important details missing (like screen resolution...). I’ve seen many reviews between the new 8k and 5k that Pimax has to offer and I went with the 5k mainly because of the slightly better clarity from the reports. I have been using the 4K headgear up till now however after trying the newly arrived 5k, I’m finding it slightly lower in resolution for nearby scenery but better clarity for in distance scenery. I’ll keep fiddling with steamVR and PItool settings but so far the 5k is disappointing. Also the 200 degrees FoV is not a wow factor compared with just 110 from the 4K, it’s just not a big noticeable difference. IM

Hi All My son (13 years old) wants to learn to fly using a flight simulator. I bought a VR headset (Samsung Odyssey+), yoke (CH Products), and rudder pedals (Saitek Pro). Our PC is relatively good and we have a GTX1080 GPU, so I think we're set hardware wise. (Not even sure we'll use the physical Yoke instead of the VR Yoke.) I'm having difficulty choosing the best software for the task. I can use your advice is about which flight simulator provides the best lessons for an absolute novice who has never flown before, or taken a lesson, and who has minimum knowledge of the aircraft, keeping in mind that we'll use VR. I was told that FSX (Steam Edition) ha…

    Started by Guest,

Over the last few months I've gotten to a point with my Odyssey+ setup that I am very happy with. I've ended up looking for a constant 30fps and I do get that nearly all the time (except on approach to complex addon airports in airliners, what's new!). Earlier on in the learning curve, I was using Prepar3D's own Vsync setting and it seemed to me to be doing the trick but I came across posts that Vysnc is not used with VR. OK, I stopped using it. I set my HMD to 60hz and I used VRfps to find the optimal settings to deliver above 30fps and it did look to me like the fps was somewhat smoothed out to 30fps without the use of Vsync. I was flying up the east cost…

  18. I was wondering it someone would tell me their experience with each. I have the DVD version and have been playing it in VR for about a year. I have upgraded my computer a few times and now have a computer that will handle VR very well. I was thinking of moving to the Steam addition but want some input first. Thanks Harry

  19. I had heard from several forums that IL-2 Sturmovik was very clear in VR - especially for us new Samsung Odyssey+ users. It is on sale (until March 20 ) on Steam for $17 (instead of $50 ) so I decided to see what others are saying about clarity and also excellent solid good frametimes. I wasn't interested in the "shoot-um-up" really - just to see what is possible with cockpit clarity - even though they are just steam gauges and not complicated modern instrument panels. The other reports were correct - it is very clear - with the Graphics Settings Options of Dynamic Resolution Factor = Full (Supersampling ), Antialiasing=4x, 4K textures and Sharpening enabled, it just is …

  20. Hi everybody, I've read multiple times, that the performance and stability of native P3D 4.4 VR is much more stable than the FlyInside solution. Do you know an alternative way, to integrate external windows into the virtual environment without leaving native P3D VR? best regards, Argonox

  21. I'm back and more confused than ever Previously I used my phone (same one) and was able to go through the tethering process and sometimes get some VR flights. Now I have forgotten everything (don't laugh, your turn will come). Riftcat, Vridge, Flyinside, Steam installed...all licensed butI cannot get past the connection stage. Tried tethered USB and wi-fi but still nothing. I really need to know just WHICH of these are needed and how to coordinate them. P3D v3 or 4 bothh installed Really appreciate some guidance. 23. I work at Boston Children's Hospital, and we are looking into giving sick kids fun things to do while in bed. Sometimes, the patient cannot even sit up, but still can turn their head and use their hands. We are looking for games you can play while you are on your back. These have been remarkably hard to find, because most games have some sort of ground plane and often a horizon line. We did see a couple of games where the horizon is hacked to be 90-degrees from real life, so you could be virtually standing while lying down in real life. But that caused motion sickness. We need games that don't have an up or down, like flying in outer space or swimming with fish …
