Has been released on early access - available on Steam and Oculus stores. I've bought it but not tried it yet? Anyone else given it a go in VR?

  3. This is just a general question because I have been experimenting with different settings trying to eliminate ghost juddering with my oculus rift. Everybody keeps telling me to go with the latest and Nvidia drivers, However there is a negative performance and stability issues with the VR just by getting the latest drivers. At least that’s what I have found. So far the best driver I have found that works 80 to 95% of the time is version 388.31. I am running an Nvidia GTX 1080 TI and Core I7 8700k hyperthreading off a 5 ghz. I have used both the oculus core 2.0 public data and the release versions both run the same. I have found that using the latest 400 series drivers f…

Hi all, I originally posted this to the flyinside forum, but traffic is kinda low there. If anyone has any help for the below it'd be much appreciated! I'm in the pursuit of clarity - since switching back to the big tubeliners (PMDG 747 in particular) I'm finding that I'm needing a better and clearer image to view things, such as text on the screens.Whilst its generally OK, I wanted to see if I'm doing it right, and optimally..First my spec: I've got a Nvidia GTX 1080Ti, coupled with a Intel i5 8600k overclocked to 4.8 Ghz. Simulator of choice is P3D v4.4I run with medium-low graphics settings, and very few sceneries (Just orbx global and some regions) I don't …

I intend to get a Samsung Odyssey+ when it becomes available in the UK. My PC is up to the challange according to Microsoft's on-line tester and I believe this as I have a recent high-spec PC running 3 1920x1080 HDMI displays. I use P3D to fly the same heli I use in real life at Beccles airfield, the Guimbal Cabri G2. One thing that might seem to spoil things with the Odyssey+ is the controllers, I hope that's not the case. Do you ever have to use them whilst in the cockpit? I need physical access to 3 control inputs while flying the helicopter (real or sim), the pedals the cyclic and the collective. The last 2 need both hands most of the time. Unlike fixed wing my heli…

  11. There was a question in another thread about Vr and people with eye problems or low vision that set me off to do some research about Vr and vision: https://www.engadget.com/2017/08/20/samsung-relumino-vision-ar-app/ https://www.androidheadlines.com/2018/01/samsungs-relumino-uses-vr-help-visually-impaired.html Samsung isn't just using VR headsets as a means of boosting phone sales. The company's C-Lab has launched Relumino, a Gear VR app that uses augmented reality to compensate for vision problems. It can magnify the picture or adjust the contrast of what you're looking at if it's just a question of clarity, but it can also remap your field of view (to deal…

Hey All, Picked up my rift yesterday and it was my first ever experience in VR. I was blown away. I've been using it primarily for Xplane 11 as I'm able to use the touch controllers to control everything in the cockpit. I fired up P3D 4.4 and although the 3d effect was brilliant the AA was terrible compared to xplane. I wonder if anyone can share their settings that they use in VR for optimum experience in P3D. I'm aware that it all depends on your machine but a good baseline would be great. Also I was able to see a white dot in the view the whole time, but no mouse cursor. how are you guys flicking switches etc in VR?.

VR Flight Simulator New York - Cessna is the ultimate Virtual Reality experience for you!Feel like flying a real Cessna 172 in New York city.REAL audios, AMAZING environment, REALISTIC physics for best simulation. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1001240/VR_Flight_Simulator_New_York__Cessna/ My take on this is that this shows hints of promise while not being ready for prime time yet. Call it a WIP VR toy. You can grab it for $7 if you are, like me, curious about everything VR and flight related. I like that they have water, ai planes and even moving traffic with a pretty extensive New York Area, but the plane is not very interactive, and right now it's more a curio…

Before I sold my house and me the wife moved into a 600sqft. apartment I had a pretty spiffy man cave in the basement. Being a avid flight simmer I took advantage to have some pretty cool setups for sim racing and flight sim over the years. I started out with a home made sim racing chair and I would interchange controls between a Logitech G27 and Saitek yoke, pedals and TQ customized for the 737. And I also used the Saitek X52 for stick and throttle flying. I had everything setup for quick interchange and the sim racing chair was mounted on a four wheel dolly for maneuvering in and out of the closet where it lived. When I had it setup it was at a reasonably close distance…

I have asked this question before, however hoping someone has a suitable solution or can tell me if it’s a problem only at my end. When I pull up an FS2CREW panel in VR I can’t click on any of the buttons, I need to exit VR in order to click a button which brings up additional panels. GSX menu in VR seems to work ok but not FS2CREW. Ive experimented with the mouse distance settings but this has not helped. Thx all IM

due to its limited black levels on the rift, the p3dv4 world at night doesn't appear that dark, but adjusting the HDR sliders to the following will really make things darker (and more immersive in my opinion): HDR=on brightness=0.8 bloom=0.7 saturation=0.86 and adjust to taste. and perhaps slightly tweak the following in p3d.cfg [GRAPHICS] TONEMAP_NIGHT_EXPOSURE_KEY=0.129930 the effect is pretty much total darkness on moon-less nights. some colors banding will be observed but that happens with the HDR=off cases as well.

  19. Hi folks, I have a request for information and hope you can help. Background first. I'm a long term glider pilot from Hus Bos. 4 years ago my wife got me a trial lesson in a Shweitzer 300CBi and I've been flying it since. I recently converted to the Guimbal Cabri G2. I use a sim for all my practice flying (affordable) and have the G2 available on P3D v4.2. The PC is good and modern and gives good frame rates with Orbx high res scenery. I've got 3 identical flat screen displays (1920x1080), L & R landscape for side window views and centre portrait for forward & some of the instrument panel - all OK within reason. BUT imagine all the gaps between the 3 displays. All…

Flying native VR in P3D v4.4 I’m getting real bad thick bands in the nighttime sky. Just above the horizon the sky is light grey, with thick bands above this until it finally goes black high up. When I fly into cloud I get a lot of wierd effects which almost make me dizzy. Like big artifacts spinning around. Daytime is now brilliant, but nighttime is awful! thanks in advance for any suggestions. Neil

I searched around a bit but I can't find a solution to this one. When flying the A2A spitfire or the Aerosoft Glider Discus X in Prepar3D V4.4 in VR with the Samsung Odyssey+, the canopy of the aircraft gets clipped when I look out to the wingtip. Big immersion killer! The canopy in both aircraft is quite tight. Anyone know the solutions to this problem?
