Hello, I just my Rift S on Friday so I'm getting used to it. One question I have for P3D is how do you look at your charts and flight plan while you're in VR. It would seem to break the immersion factor if you had to remove the headset every time you wanted to check your charts.

Two things about getting the Rift S was the change in sound/headphones and the IPD for the eye range that had me concerned. First off with the sound, having ATC set to the Rift headset as the default communication sound and the rest of the sounds set to the speakers, I can say that there is no issue hearing ATC. The eye thing is an individual thing but for me Im fine. Just wanted to share the sound issue since some people are reporting low volume and such but if used for PE and ATC its perfect.

Anyone else have an issue with a thick haze in the Rift S headset when flying at night in P3D v4.5? The conditions on the monitor mirror are clear but in the headset, it's like flying in a serious thick fog. It's only a night. dusk to night is fine also. tried changing settings for HMD in nvidia control panel, no joy. any thoughts, ideas, or suggestions would be much appreciated, thanks.

Armed with experience form the CV1, I knew I would need some prescription inserts, and I ordered them (from Widmo) the same day I ordered the Rift S. It worked out perfectly, and the lenses arrived almost a month later from Poland...... On the same days as my new Rift arrived. Installation was quick... Once I stopped scratching my head and figured out I had to pry away part of the Rift S lens assembly. And yes, they work great! https://widmovr.com/product/rift-s-prescription-lens-adapters/ https://vroptician.com/prescription-lens-inserts/oculus-rift-s/

You hardly hear anything about this sim in the various forums: It seems nearly forgotten despite a promising beginning and arguably the best VR control implementation available. I mess with probably once a week or so, hoping that it survives to reach its potential. Video by Jesper Raben

Since the latest rift software update I have seen a marked increase in Judder in heavy photo scenary areas as if the ASW is not working as well as usual . I had seen this in the beta code but kept rolling back . Now it has gone mainstream cant go back. Based on some great reviews I am looking at the RIft S how are you finding it for smoothness in heavy areas .

Has anyone been able to drag a desktop window into P3D VR with the Oculus software? I get as far as enabling it in experimental mode, pressing A on the hand controller and the middle finger then dragging the window into oculus home environment and and moving it and resizing it with the hand controller. When I go full screen VR in P3D the window doesn't show. If you did get it working, did you see a performance hit? Cheers

Lest we think the Rift S is the only headset worth talking about right now: Just remember to take through the lens videos taken with a cellphone with large grains of salt. The image is actually a lot blurrier than in real life. These guys really need to use a jig and a real camera.

So I'm getting back to vr flight simming and been comparing fly inside for p3d vs native. I'm noticing performance in FI seems quite poor for me at the moment and has some graphical glitches (greyish line across cockpit glass, interior lighting flickers). Avg around fps 15/90 while feeling choppy. Native vr however is about 15-20 fps and feels much smoother. However I have more distracting glitches (wobbly imagery, flickering night lights, pfd seems harder to read). I've tried lowering settings alot with not alot of change in performance. Just wondering what everyone else is doing for vr these days and how their performance compares. I'm running a vive pro, 2080t…

I found a post awhile back about white floating boxes in VR in P3D. I can't seem to find them now or figure out how to fix this. I'm trying native VR as im having really poor performance in the latest FlyInside. Performance seems better except I have a white box in the FSL A320. Any ideas why this is?

This review goes into amazing detail, and pretty much answers just about any question one might have about the oculus Rift S It is however in Spanish, and unless you're a native speaker, you will need to have Google translate for you. My question is, with all of the voluminous coverage of Rift S, why no english-language venue presented anything even half as detailed. https://www.realovirtual.com/articulos/5346/oculus-rift-s-analisis

To me, i've been waiting forever to see if Pimax can ever meet their initial promises for Brainwarp, IE, could they get something that worked as well as Oculus ASW. Could they have finally done it?

Discovered this by accident, pressed a wrong key by mistake while starting x-plane 11. I know it seems improbable but it works for me at any frame rate above 22 and is repeatable after computer restart. First off you need Oculus tray tools and set it to start Oculus home (ASW off) set windows sound output to rift headphones start Oculus home start xp11 and start flight After flight has loaded start Oculus tray tools (which will restart Oculus home) change to x-plane VR mode. I don't know why but frames (for me at least) are smooth at any frame rate above 22 !!! it does not appear to p…

Anyone else found there rift now juddering like crazy with P3d since the latest rift drivers . I noticed this everytime I tried the beta channel releases . Reverting back put normal operation back . Now the drivers have been rolled out and no way back. ASW seems to be the problem as I believe asw2 is now out and of course P3D I doubt supports it. Anyone else having problems or knows an answer . Rift updated over the last two days.

Could we finally be getting close to a release? Keeping an eye on this one. Could be a nice VR action thingy, and our only chance at the TrueSky cloud engine. https://store.steampowered.com/app/895870/Project_Wingman/ Project Wingman is a flight action game that lets you take the seat of advanced fighter jets and become a true ace. Fight in various missions and game modes ranging from intense aerial dogfights to large scale ground assault in an alternate scorched earth setting. Play the current alpha (non-VR) here! https://rb-d2.itch.io/wingman
