I've mentioned this before, but it bears a repeat. Nothing can prepare you for the apparent scale of objects in VR. As you gape upwards at gigantic stars, they are not just big round things on a screen: They are absolutely enormous objects that make your jaw drop. Recommended, especially as there is a more to the experience, not quite covered on the video. https://store.steampowered.com/app/468820/Titans_of_Space_PLUS/

Am I just not finding it? I think the forum should be arranged into categories of VR simulators and non-VR simulators to make it easier for newcomers who are interested in VR to be able to find all the related sims. Virtual Reality Simulators - flyinside - Aerofly FS 2 - DCS Etc Might as well since it appears VR is the way simulation is headed...as is all other gaming.

Very scary butt puckering checkerboard approach into Kai Tak and of course i flew into a crosswind.....the closer to the approach things get really fast and you get the feeling of trying to maneuver a multi ton piece of metal over those buildings those pilots back then must have had nerves of steel

Interesting: https://qz.com/1739575/strong-oculus-quest-sales-boost-facebooks-non-advertising-revenue/ Facebook is finding a surprising new revenue source, a world away from the scandal-fraught businesses it traditionally relies on. The company’s non-advertising revenue jumped to $269 million during the third quarter, Facebook noted in its earnings report Oct. 30. That’s a 43% increase year-over-year, and while ad sales still account for 98% of Facebook’s total revenue, the company’s other business lines are growing again. The revenue is coming from strong sales of Oculus Quest, one of Facebook’s VR headsets, of all places. Indeed, on a quarterly basis, it …

Reading gauges and text are no longer an issue....at a cost of course but simmers and VR fanatics like to spend money so no worries. Source

So after seeing a few VR posts lately I may go and dip my toes in the VR waters again. I haven't really looked back since I got a 49" ultra wide. Anyway - One of the annoyances I had is when the FSL A320 first came out - when using with FlyInside the weather radar would not work. Is this still an issue?

I don't know if there is already someone else running the TFDi 717 (version 1.1x) in combination with the Reverb and Prepar3Dv4.5 but I filed a support ticket by the TFDi guys and they can only test in P3Dv3 (?/!) and can't reproduce my problem in VR in a 64 bits environment. They want to set up a remote session to see what is happening but I'm sorry, If they don't believe it because they can't reproduce it due to the lack of having a proper P3Dv4 license I'll quit with them. They tested under P3Dv3 with a Vive and there it's running fine they say.... Mainly the problem I have is that as soon I put on the Taxi or Landing lights the VR performance is dramatically fall…

I'm afraid we'lll still have quite a long way to go before we can enjoy a stable FS2020 sim, letalone a stable VR experience of it. So what can one do in the meantime: Tip 1. Enjoy what you have right now. it might be not so bad after all and given the current hype it can only dissapoint when it becomes reality. So keep cool. Tip 2. There will be more and more sales/ discounts on products for your current sim. If you can bring up the discipline to wait longer until the initial storm has passed and a first major service pack will bring stability (say 2021 ?) you can benefit form this. Tip 3. There are still hundreds and hundreds of airports you h…

I'm seriously considering getting a HP Reverb. There are some reasonable deals here in the UK which are around £80 / $100 cheaper than buying direct from HP. How do I know whether I'm getting a fixed / v1.5 version though? Were all the first batch recalled? Can you tell from the serial number?

With the higher resolutions finally getting to where we simmers can actually see things, more are buying into VR (like myself, I ordered a Reverb yesterday). I thought it might be helpful for veterans to share some of their tips and suggestions to VR newbies. So what are your top 3 tips to learn, do, try, be aware of, don't do, etc. Thanks for any replies.

I would like to know from anyone who has made the jump from the Odyssey Plus to the HP Reverb what their experience was. Was it OMG I didn't think it could get better than the Odyssey Plus or Boy I am glad I didn't sell the Odyssey plus before I got this thing so I can send the Reverb back for a refund! I sold my Odyssey plus about 4 months ago. Not because I was dissatisfied with it but because I was moving a good 4000km from Toronto to Victoria and I had to get ride of a lot of stuff. Now I am in the market for a replacement and I'm wondering if I should get another Odyssey plus of get with the HP Reverb. So if you have had both and use P3D V4.5 your feedback is mu…

I have been on here busting you VR guys so I figured I should really experience it myself before knocking it. The only VR simulator option I have right now is Ultrawings on the oculus quest. I flew the ultralight. If i had to pick one aspect that is different in VR flying is that your head is really on a swivel...on the downwind leg of a right hand traffic pattern I could really judge when to turn base leg by looking abeam over my shoulder. This aspect of flying is lost even with a multiple monitor setup. VR is the already the future of gaming...I have no doubt now that it is the future of simming as well. I am going to try out Aerofly FS2 and Flyinside. I thi…

This guy was not so impressed with the first Reverb but now he demonstrate the improvements made in the new revised headset. I still wondering how he managed to get no "jaggies" etc without any use of AA.

I've been flying native VR for a while now (still miss FlyInside for the user friendlyness). The only real problem I still encounter is when flying at night. When I open a 2D pop-up panel inside VR, it is randomly so dark that I can hardly see it. Sometimes it opens and is lit up so that you can easily read and use it, other times (randomly) it is almost impossible to make out as it is so dark. Has anyone figured out what to do when it opens in dark mode? Thanks Neil

Hi all I am thinking of trying VR and watching many hours of Youtube video it seems I have now to decide on which way to go but before I pull the trigger could you help me with the following questions. 1 I am thinking of going for the Oculus Rift S (or maybe the HP Reverb) but with my IPD of 67.4 would the Rift S be the better option as I believe it has a larger Sweet spot but is my IPD likely to be a problem even though it is within the specified range or should I really be looking at the Cosmos? 2 I wear glasses (varifoculs) which I understand is not a problem with the Rift S but does the Reverb also allow for the user to wear glasses without too much dis…
