  1. Hi everyone! I work for a small video game studio, Dark Catt Studios (http://darkcatt.com/), out of Illinois. I am looking for QA testers for our upcoming virtual reality game, Djinni & Thaco: Trial by Spire, to check for bugs in the game and to give me feedback on your experience playing it! Because of COVID-19 and its surrounding circumstances, my coworkers and I can’t do in-house testing at our office, nor can we afford to pay outside testers at this time. Illinois has issued a stay-at-home order, meaning that I, along with the rest of my team, have to work from home. While some of us are testing from our own homes to the extent that we can, we need more …

Hello. Today my Index arrived. Comming from the Rift S, I'm impressed of the clarity of the Display ( using Steam VR Supersampling 1.8x ). But I'm having troubles with the performance. Whilst overall Performance in the PMDG 747 is fine, I'm still having trouble with minor stutters when moving the head in the VC. Surprisingly, disabling "motion smoothing" improves smoothness a little, while I still get motion sick when moving my head due to the micro-stutters when moving/paning around. Index is set to 80Hz Intel i7 4770k Geforce 980Ti 6GB All P3D v4.5 settings left as used with Rift S ( which was smoother ). How can I get r…

Hi, first time VR user. I have the Pimax Artisan running of a RTX2070 on a laptop. Performance appears very good, but I get these black diagonal bars. What are they and how can I get rid of them? Thanks!

  5. Just did a quick test run with a clean X-Plane install and updated to the long expected Vulcan 1.50 Beta version and ORBX LOWI and HD Monitor wise in 1080P , it's a perfect running sim and big improved . Even Xvision is no longer needed and all sliders to the max is giving me 60 fps (with very bad shadows though) and 100 fps without shadows with the default Cirrus Jet so very nice BUT... here it comes... I think my i5-9600 with 32Gb and TITAN XP 12Gb is still to weak for the X-Plane/Reverb Combo. I still have to use max 2 x SSAA where 4x SSAA is minimum needed for a playable and for 80% shimmer free experience so a NoGo for the moment in HP Reverb VR While Usi…

  6. Not VR, but this seemed like maybe the appropriate forum bit to put this post in since it is a virtual world we're talking about after all. As per the title, if you've been waiting for Bannerlord to be available, your wait is over. It's a 31.1 Gb download, which is currently on sale on Steam, with a discount of ten percent off the final release price. Currently downloading it and looking forward to a bit of sword-swinging horsey action!

I picked up VR again and I'm staying with it this time. I have a couple of questions still after research. 1. I want to upgrade from my Odyssey+. When I first picked up VR I was reluctant because of the resolution. This is the reason I want to upgrade to the HP Reverb for higher resolution. Then I came across the Index Valve which has a wider FOV at 130° max, compared to 114° of the Reverb. I'm still leaning towards the Reverb because I think higher resolution is more important, but I want to make sure there isn't any flabbergasting, huge advantage with a higher FOV that would outdo higher resolution. 2. I know there are new headsets coming up, but I couldn't so…

I have been a longtime Fly Inside user and am currently using P3DV4.5HF2. I recently tried the native VR and have been very impressed. I am getting a smooth experience, picture quality is much better. I am able to turn on Dynamic Lighting, HDR and 4xSSAA and things look great. The only complaint I have is the pop-up windows do not come up. When I first tried it with the Majestic Dash-8 (pop up of the MFDs or radio panel, etc) they would work but then stopped. Is there a setting I am missing that allows the pop-up windows to show up? Any help is appreciated Thanks, Brett

  9. Hi, Using FlyInside with FSX:SE and Rift CV1 here spending most of the time in cockpit -> virtual cockpit (captain's) view obviously. But sometimes also very nice in VR to stand in front of the plane/ I've set up 6 joystick buttons to move view point in X, Y, Z axes. but moving that is very slow.I would like to change some of the views relative to the aircraft (like for example aircraft -> right wing aft or aircraft -> tail view or aircraft -> left engine.Moving the viewpoint is too slow to change that with each new flight. In which config file do I find the settings for this to edit? (i don't think that Flyinside will allow any 3rd pa…

Hi all, I was thinking of obtaining a VR headset... I would use it primary for DCS. Is there anything I should be aware of or know beforehand? 🙂 Tips and guidance would be appreciated. Currently I use a Logitech 3D Extreme Pro... I'm a little unsure of whether or not I should get a HOTAS joystick as well and if so - which one? I couldn't see it (since I would be wearing a VR-headset, so I'm don't know if it's necessary. Thanks a lot for all advice 🙂

  12. Any idea or suggestions for good maps in VC view in VR mode? So it must works as Simconnect view/window or 2D panel (for example with shortcut Shift+9 or something similar). It could be software for static maps only (not moving maps), not like in GPS. Payware or free tool.

  14. Hope someone can help... I have a problem with Prepar3D 4.5 crashing to desktop when entering VR but only when the Next Level Motion Platform V3 software manager has been installed. After a process of elimination, its definitely the Motion Platform manager installation that corrupts something. The Platform works fine in Prepar3D 2D but entering VR results in a black P3D window and subsequent CTD. Quitting or un-installing the Platform Manager doesn't resolve, even with re-boot. The only way resolve so far is by restoring the drive image done just before the software manager install. Windows 10 V1809 or V1903 affected. Prepar3D V4.5.13.32097 Motion…

Is there a definitive way of preventing Oculus S from nannying me? Every so often and usually at inconvenient moments, it butts in with 'Play area not detected'. I DO NOT NEED A PLAY AREA! I sit down...always. I've 'disabled' what I can but the darned thing is frightened I might sue it. There, that's better.
