Just FYI at least with steam VR and WMR, game mode on right now causes a software bottleneck for VR leading to stutters, and low GPU utilization. I'm not sure if its the sim or VR itself because I haven't tested without VR.

Yes, it really is!!! It took a bit to set up the way I wanted with my Thrustmaster Hotas T6000M, and the settings menus themselves are a bit confusing in the way they are configured, but once you get all that done and are into the game in VR... WOW! Even in just the prologue, you are introduced to a massive set piece battle between the Rebel fleet and a the Imperial fleet over a massive complex, dodging and weaving as capital ships maneuver wildly while you fly crazily around and between them blasting at enemies while the familiar Star Wars music and sound effects blast your ears... Big Grin time Adjust your settings, if you have a delicate stomach, because…

Ok.... Just took the plunge and just bought "Advanced Rendering Options" plugin in the xplane11 org store and must say it is....... absolutely brilliant!!! The menu is visible in VR, very easy to use and you can change dozens of settings ...while in VR! I immediately bumped up the saturation, removed the greenish blant look, cranked up the contrast a bit and changed some light scattering settings. And voila, the image I always wanted but missed so much in VR. I use the latest version of xplane11 (just updated), I have a Rift S and I use OVR settings and 3jFPS at the same time when using advanced rendering options. The best 14,5 Euro I spe…

I have roundabout 4000h of flying in VR with FlightSims like IL2 Sturmovik, X plane and FSX and i dont want to be too negative... but for the expectations i have to say , i think....; Too much shaking and bobbling around with the actual flightmodels so as over sensitivity at the roll axis... This thread is allready discussed a lot ...just type "turbulence" or "shaking" or "senstivity roll" ( sudden 90 ° roll in half of a sec in a TBM , a plane that is known a stable....?1?!?....) in the forums , whereever you look.. ...yes , I know..We all want to get away of the "Flying like on rails" but..... 1. I think the actual behaviour of the flightmo…

Nvidias Deep Learning Super Sampling brings VR support. This could mean substantially better looking VR games that still achieve the necessary framerate and i really like to see that at 144Hz with my Valve Index! https://www.roadtovr.com/nvidias-latest-dlss-2-1-supersampling-now-supports-vr/

Long live Valve! 😉

Hello all. A few years away but excited to see if FS series will at last be able to deliver a great user experience. I'm looking for opinions on yoke/pedals for my new setup. For those who are interested I have spent the last couple of days trying to get a SaitekX45 and a CH FlightSim Yoke to calibrate properly but I'm not having any success. Thoughts and suggestions most welcome.

This video of Patty Wagstaff flying an Extra really compares closely to the look of our virtual flying and also allows us to simulate us having our VR gear or TrackIR gear. Her commentary is nice as well - just wish I could read airspeed and maybe Gs.

I wonder if anyone has taken notice of this or perhaps already knew ? In this excellent video mr. Belgeode explains how to use a VR headset to use with Tracker software (opensource) and create a curved big screen using Virtual Desktop. Since Laminar research decided that my GTX780 isn't good enough for x-plane VR (an incomprehensable decision, but that's another subject) i gave this a try and it works quite well with my Rift CV1. So this may be something to use until your headset will be supported for real VR.

This looks like it should be a nice headset. The problem is that my previous experience with Windows Mixed Reality, Via the Samsung Odyssey, sucked. The headset itself was not bad, but the WMR software interface with Steam VR was amazingly clunky, overly complex, and the controllers sucked. For me, it may have left a permanent bad taste.

Hi, I'm looking for advice, I currently have an i7-4790K (upgrade isn't an option), I play P3Dv5 in stereo mode VR Rift S (for truesky) with ortho and don't have any VRAM issue (currently with 6GB) and I'm looking to buy a new GPU. As my GPU power supply is limited to 230W I need to take one with less power. My options would be: RTX 2070 SUPER RTX 2070 RTX 2060 SUPER RTX 2060 So my question is about bottleneck, would any of these cards bottleneck my i7-4790K in Stereo VR Rift S (1440p resolution)? Thanks for reading, Lucas

Thinking of upgrading to this card, the EVGA 06G-P4-2066-KR GeForce RTX 2060 KO Gaming, 6GB GDDR6, Dual Fans, Metal Backplate (https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-06G-P4-2066-KR-GeForce-Gaming-Backplate/dp/B083GH7LXW/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=RTX%2B2060&qid=1596236314&sr=8-1&th=1) in hopes of taking my system to the Recommended settings. Will this card do that, I'm currently running a Radeon RX 580. Will I notice a increase in performance with the new card. Sorry for the silly questons but I know nothing about video cards. Thanks for all your help! John Snyder Jr
