Valve, Microsoft and now Oculus: https://developer.oculus.com/downloads/package/oculus-openxr-mobile-sdk/ I wonder if HP will follow with the G2 Reverb. Else I might not buy it. I once lost my Bios password on a almost new Laptop with waranty. Guess what, I was told to buy a new motherboard!

VR market grows faster than expected Half-Life Alyx, Iron Man VR and the update for No Man's Sky: The investment in Virtual Reality seems to be paying off gradually. The market research company Superdata raises its forecast for the market for VR and AR hardware and software. In 2020 as a whole, industry sales are expected to reach USD 6.9 billion - considerably more than the USD 6.3 billion previously forecast. In the field of VR Headsets, Superdata reports that things have recently gone better than expected, especially for Oculus, a company belonging to Facebook. Around 177,000 units of the Oculus Quest were sold between April and June 2020. This mea…

  4. After configurations I loaded P3D v4.5 and RealAir Duke. REALLY pleased with view at Friday Harbour. First off, there is no mouse. So how do I work Buttons/switches? There must be a tutorial someplace for dummies. After an hour searching and watching You Tube I am no closer. Some help getting guidance will be truly appreciated. I was all ready to give up flight simming after about 37 years (anyone remember Apple 2e?) but my wife gave me the Rift S yesterday as an encouragement. Gotta say: a very nice gift and it surely does make want to try it seriously. Again: help/direction appreciated Neal H 😊

Hello all. I‘ve just set up my new system and I must admit, that I am kind of underwhelmed by the VR-Performance in P3D v4.5 with the latest PMDG 747 with the Rift S. First to the setup: i9900k @ 5.0GHz 64GB RAM RTX 2080Ti 11GB ( 442.19 Driver ) ASUS ROG Maximus Hero XI, Intel Z390 M.2 SSD 500GB The performance in 2D seems to be improved decently with regard to my previous System ( i4770k / 16GB RAM / 980ti ), but I‘ve been expecting much more in VR: When the aircraft is static on the ground, everything is fine. Panning / looking around in the VC with the PMDG 747, Active Sky and a complex airport addon is a joy. B…

  8. I'm not one to bash a product but I feel compelled to at least provide my personal experience with the HP Reverb (2nd edition). First and foremost, I love the resolution and I've been happy with the overall experience. Unfortunately the weight of the cable on the Reverb, overtime and use, seems to pull on and weaken the connection within the headset. I can actually feel the tug of the cable on my head and neck. There is a clamp that holds the main video cable and headphone cable but I'm not sure it's snug enough to keep tension off the connection inside the headset itself. As a result, the connect weakens over time and use causing the video to blacks out in…

  9. When I was a kid in New York, there was a place, just on the edge of Chinatown, (Soho) called the Museum of Holography. It was filled with amazing things, including holographic microscopes floating in thin air that you could actually see things inside if you put your eye to it. Of course, all of it was in the weird green/orange/blue colors you associate with 3D medallions in tourist traps, with eyes that turn to watch you as you move your head....... All these years later, the full-color 3D hologram-tech promised at the time and in science fiction never arrived. But now, maybe............?

  11. How do I access menus in P3D while in VR to change aircraft or airfields? For example, I'm flying around Bowerman airfield in a Cessna 172, but want to switch to a Cessna 152. At the moment I have to take the headset off, access menus on my 2D monitor, and then put the VR headset back on. I simply cannot find a way to call up the menus to change aircraft or airfields while in VR with the headset on. It is so easy to do in X-Plane 11, Aerofly FS2 and DCS World, where the in-game menus can be called up inside the VR world with a press of the ESC key or a touch controller button (XP11), but for the life of me I cannot find that same functionality in P3D.

To all VR users of P3Dv5 - major performance and smoothness improvements for single-pass, single display. I have not seen a graphics crash (as long as I start WMR and SteamVR first - or don't slew too fast). Get HF2 NOW. I just uninstalled / installed the Client so far. Please report here or start a new thread please

  16. Slightly Mad Studios returns to the track this summer with Project Cars 3, and ‘best-in-class’ VR support comes with it on PC. https://uploadvr.com/project-cars-3-vr-support-pc/ The UK-based studio confirmed the third entry in its popular racing simulation series earlier this week. This is the first Project Cars game since Codemasters acquired Slightly Mad in late 2019. Though VR support didn’t feature in the reveal trailer (seen below), the official website confirms that the game has “12K and best-in-class VR support (on PC).” Official headsets haven’t been confirmed, but expect a SteamVR release which support for a broad range at the very least. Project C…

  17. After several hours trying out FSX with their 15 minute demo addon, I gave up on it but REALLY liked what they've done and were trying to do. I can see why they abandoned it. Which lead me to buying, trying and deciding to keep their other product, FFS (bad acronym). MANY features are missing compared to FSX, but besides the excellent VR, 2 things hooked me; the streaming full world scenery and great performance (it uses all cpu cores!!). Night time flying has great visuals too. Being able to fly anywhere and have lots of solid autogen with the true to life satellite scenery is definitely the future, *ahem* FS2020. You spawn in the world first, the…

I guess you guys, knew this already. but Avatar Mode in 3rd Person, no model is an absolute blast in VR. I use an X-Box controller to move around, and doing a walk around on the PMDG 747 is really something that puts the monstrous scale of that aircraft into perspective.

I recently purchased a new HP Reverb Pro from Amazon UK but when I entered the serial number to register the Reverb with HP their system could not identify it, so who knows what it is! I am waiting to ask HP UK what my serial number refers to, evidently it may be a v1 that has been upgraded by HP. Having said that I will not hesitate to return the Reverb if it is not a v2 or an upgrade to v2. I will update this post when i know more
