Will not be able to fly until late tonight but hoping I can get improvement tonight. I can fly default and some payware AC all day long, but these two lead almost to instant dings and an OOM. I suspect part of it may be having two other programs open to work around not having OR. Tonight I will try shutting down all non essential processes first, have not been doing that, and shutting down Malware and my anti-virus, even though it has been in game mode. I have been lazy, and have not been shutting anything down. I have also allowed for more virtual memory, but this time only 1.5 times my RAM, I went way overboard last time, …

For those who don't want to pay for a headset, but still want some of the benefits in mobile VR. This might also go well towards addressing some of the shortcomings of things like Pimax https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/243372678/nolo-affordable-motion-tracking-for-mobile-and-steam

Hello everyone, Have bee using P3D V 3.4 and its amazing in VR with flyinside. Have been tweaking more then flying however and wanted to try PTA in VR.Its hard to see the difference in VR sometimes and tweaking takes a lot of time. My question therefore is: does anyone have PTA presets that make a difference in vr and are you willing to share these settings/profiles?That would be great! Have used PTA without vr some time ago abd it is awesome. Thank youJozeff

Here's a YouTube video showing what Google Earth VR looks like using Oculus Rift and Touch controllers. I've played around with it quite a bit myself and find it absolutely amazing, being able to go anywhere in the world with the sensation you're there IRL. Of course you can check out famous landmarks, cities, buildings etc and experience places you only dreamed of visiting before but personally I find checking out airports and their surroundings might be the coolest thing. Both airports I've been to IRL or in the simulator but also to check out airports I plan to get where I'm able to compare the product with what it looks like IRL before buying it. It's f…

I have spent many hours trying to get either P3d or FSX Steam in Virtual Reality. Result: ONE 15 minute trial flight using Oculus Rift. Frustration and expense excessive so Oculus Rift sent back to Amazon. Now I have a ZTE Max Pro phone and VR Box headset but here iswhere confusion begins: 1. Trinus software includes the app for PC and app for phone. No mention of anything else needed. However the setup says SteamVR also required. No problem. it is already installed. Tether phone, get both PC and phone communicating amd ....nothing with FSX Steam. 2. Next: install FlyInside whose instructions (Wiki) make no mention of ANY other software needed. No luck …

Hi, if planning for the purchase of a new display for P3D, would you invest your money 1. in a Oculus Rift or HTC Vive Virtual Reality glasses, or 2. in a curved G-sync 34'' 21:9 UHD IPS monitor such as Acer Predator X34 or the new Asus ROG PG348Q? Option 1 would give you a favourable 3D experience, but the current echnology requires high fps. Look forward to your opinions. Best Regards, Chris

VR is on a roll and gaining popularity every day, it is here to stay. There are VR threads all over the place here, and now after the crazy new system changes here, they will be impossible to locate and keep track of. Please consider it.

My go-to sim for VR is Aerofly FS2, but I've also given into curiosity, and been playing with Flyinside for FSX(SE) P3D and even Xplane. There are a lot of threads out there about what a game changer VR is, (with some readers chiming to pooh-pooh the whole idea) and also a lot of talk of the technical merits yea or nay, but one thing I haven't seen really mentioned is how "true" 3D will affect the creation process for developers. It's probably hard to appreciate unless you've actually seen all the various sims in action in VR, but one thing that's become glaringly obvious to me is that many cockpits that were perfectly fine in 2D are woefully inadequate when see…

My brand new Oculus Rift was set up yesterday. Had to make several changes in my rig: nVidia 1060 has only one HDMI and one DVI but THREE display ports. My 35" Vizio TV has four HDMI and one VGA(no BVI).Switched to a 24" ASUS monitor, started Oculus setup. All went well until the sensor could not be detected. I switched it to every USB 3 porton the PC plus a USB3 hub. Went through the reboot, reboot after power turned off, etc. About six(6) hours including a trip to town looking for display adapters. So far, Virtual Reality has been a "virtual wish" for me After a few more attempts this morning it will either work or go back to Amazon.. Any suggestions appreciat…

Hey, Does anyone have any good presets for VR use (or can point me in the right direction). I can not use HDR in Flyinside at the moment so any presets which can yield good results (or even close to Thopat) I am open to trying it out. Thanks

Still using Riftcat and my cellphone, will get the Oculus Rift some day, but clouds, weather, systems, sky textures, etc, don't really matter anymore. Planes and scenery will still be needed here and there, but not as often. As the resolution increases everything else will become more important again. But if VR was available early on I'd likely went a lot longer before adding to the sim.

Having pre-ordered an Oculus Rift Retail version.. i had already thought i was set on the Rift as it had slightly higher resolution. But reviews overall (for gaming) seem to point to Vive.. slightly less resolution but 360 degrees of view vs 180 with Rift, though i dont think this is a deal changer for Rift, as in my cramped office this would be more ideal for Rift (still hoping my area isnt too small.. a 10x12 room with maybe 6 x 6 for the desk area). At any rate.. i know there is this FlyInside software for making Rift work better with P3D.. but has anyone looked into Vive.. does it also work.. which works better and feels more real with P3D? EDIT: looks like they…

Greetings, All: I'd like to know if anyone has had success or dissapointment with various types of 3D, stereo-image viewing in P3D (or FSX, only because they share the same code base atm). I turned on Nvidia anaglyph 3D on a lark, and the resulting increase in immersion within P3D was really something, in my opinion. Of course, the magenta/cyan combo isn't really good for long-term use, there's a lot of color info lost, and there are quirks with the Nvidia implementation approach, since it is independent of the program itself, namely ILS lights not being where they should, having to zoom way in to click VC buttons, etc. This got me interested in the real-deal…
