  1. Hello everyone. I have recently purchased a HTC VIVE PRO 2. I am having a blast flying it on another simulator but I wanted to use it on some of my P3D addons. I have a smooth running P3Dv5 HF2. I have the default settings on the VR Settings menu, for everyones understanding on my settings. The issue, anytime I start VR using Steam VR I notice that the simulator becomes "stuck". If I make another window active (for example the Steam VR Status Box) then the simulator becomes responsive like nothing is even wrong. But when I make P3D the active window again it then get stuck and I can't use it. So clearly it's not a performance problem as when the sim is not in fo…

Hi, I just recently received a Vive Pro 2 after my Vive Pro 1 died. It works perfectly in all other sims (DCS, MSFS2020, Iracing). In P3D when I switch into VR it basically becomes a fixed image or steam VR fails. I have tried different resolution modes (essentially making it less pixels than the original Vive Pro). I have tried deleting the P3d.cfg and shaders. No luck. If anyone has some insight that would be appreciated. Thanks, Brett

Has anyone tried to "sync" their real-world hardware (yoke & throttle) to their view in VR while utilizing some form of hand tracking? In other words: You have a real yoke in front of you. You see your hands in VR (either hand tracking or a VR glove of some sort) and when you place your hand on your yoke, your VR hand is aligned with it? Is it a simple matter of tweaking the location of your real-world yoke until it lines up? If you also have knobs and switches that are to exact scale of the VR aircraft model, would you be able to immediately locate those real world knobs via your VR hands? Thank you for any input or suggestions.

So, with a valve Index HMD, running FS2020 (steam version) on an Omen 30L, I get gray screens in my HMD when in external views while flying around in FS2020, which I updated this morning. I do have the F14 Tomcat from DC Designs and the Carrier program from HDS running currently, and this gray-out thing has started ever since then. It happens when in an external view or if I move my head too fast. I get a 2-5 second gray-out every 20-30 seconds. Needless to say, this will not do when on short final to the boat or anywhere else... all my drivers, devices and FS2020 are updated as well. I'm at a loss on this one.

I have just jumped from xplane to P3D v5 and have read all the VR post regarding the issue with stuttering. No matter what I have tried I can not get rid of the head movement stuttering my frame rates can be up at 60 and that's using True Earth scenery. When flying if I don't move my head the flight is smooth the moment I move my head the head movement is stuttering. I am using an i9 cpu and 3090 graphics card I am sure its not a performance issue. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello everyone. Since SU5 (or maybe even a bit longer) the game menus and cockpit displays look much more pixelated in VR than before. This makes eg. reading Navigraph charts rather uncomfortable. Has anybody else experienced this? Does anybody have an idea what can be done about it?

  8. I use a Reverb G2, but in VR I can't see Discord streaming (or other streaming) while flying. So then I put off my VR headset - and then cant hear the Discord communication anymore, and I sound like I am on the toilet. So my question is: is there a mike that is good enough to use with sound out of the speakers next to my monitor? Without beeping feedback sound. That way I can always listen and talk, whether G2 on or off. Or: which headset can be used for sound and mike with the Reverb G2 (after removing its speakers).

I bought a little gaming bluetooth keyboard, hears my problem. It connects to both my laptops,it will not connect to my gaming PC.Other things will connect to my gaming PC,so i know the bluetooth works on it.I know this isn't a VR question but it is to use when in VR.Any ideas anyone, much appreciated.Thanks.

  10. IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE: VOLUNTARY RECALL OF QUEST 2 REMOVABLE FOAM FACIAL INTERFACE Oculus is sending free replacements, if you request one. I will note that I actually have a mild case of this issue, where the interface has becoming irritating enough that I have not entered VR in in several days, though curiosity about the FPS boost in MSFS SU5 may force my hand.

Hi all, As the title states, I am about to re-enter VR after I decided it was not for me about 5 years ago when I tried the Oculus Rift (CV1). Back then, while I was initially very impressed by the 3d presence that VR makes possible, I was turned down by the low resolution. I couldn't read the gauges or recognize a runway in the distance, so things like that made me return the Rift and decided to wait for the next generation. Even though the resolution was low the VR experience convinced me that this is where I need to be in the future when hardware allows. Flying on a 2D screen can be easier especially for IFR flying where I need to check maps, dial frequencies fast…

  12. Is anyone able to suggest why I might be missing the VR cursor when I change aircraft or airport from the default aircraft or airport in P3D 5.2 with Hotfix? It was also occurring in 5.1. On occasion, I can see the cursor down the bottom of the HMD display but it cannot be moved so it certainly seems like a bug to me. I use WMR and SteamVR and it works great for the default aircraft scenario but when I switch, I am often looking at a black monitor with the menu options at the top and the cursor can be moved on the monitor but remains invisible within the HMD. I have also tried toggling WIN+Y without success. I have also tried toggling in and out of full screen…

  14. Started by Petraeus,

Up until yesterday, with my Reverb G2, I was getting full movement with my three simulators - P3DV4, P3DV5, and MSFS 2020. Then I noticed that with P3DV4 and P3DV5, I was down to 3DofF. I did all the usual things like increasing illumination, checking connections etc, but couldn't get full movement back. Then I checked the Cliff House and I was down to 3DofF there also. Yet with MSFS 2020, I continue to have full 6DofF. I cannot work out why I have it in this simulator, but not the LM ones, nor the Cliff House. Any thoughts?

Hello, I have been thinking about getting a VR headset and I was wondering if my hardware will run P3D in VR. My system consists of an intel i7 4790k with 32 mb of RAM and a Nvidia GTX 1080Ti. Would it be possible to have a satisfying experience and if so which VR headset do you recommend. Thanks. Ed

  17. I hadn't fired up P3d for months, then it occured to me to compare it in VR with Fs2020, which so far is a blurry mess for me despite endless tweaking and reading up on Quest 2 best settings. Imagine my surprise when I started VR in Prepar4.5 and blow me down - on EXACTLY the same Quest 2 settings as used in Fs2020 it was about 3x clearer, twice as smooth and furthermore, you can overcome the washed out colours in Oculus because the HDR saturation settings immediately show in the sim. Actually, it was even better than that. I ended up with a higher Oculus sample rate, a higher refresh rate and with almost everything maxed out. I got easily 35 fps and 45 if I toned th…

  18. I had a bad experience last year when my new Lenovo Explorer headset firmly refused to work with my P3D sim. I had to send it back for a refund. Now VR is more mature I'm ready to give it another go and I'm looking seriously at the HP Reverb because of its higher resolution. I'm hoping I'll be able to see detail like the altimeter sub-scale just by leaning forward like I do in the real Cabri G2. But I've seen comments that say although P3D supports WMR well, it needs Steam as well (which I've never used). I'm not sure why I need Steam or what to do to get Steam and then how to use it. Has anyone succeeded in doing what I'm after? And please could someone tell me…

Hello. My G2 arrived some days ago. Despite the appealing visual quality, the catastrophic headtracking if the HMD is second to none. It happens regularly, that the HMD suddenly stops to track lateral movements ( forward, backward, left, right ). Rotational movements are tracked sufficiently. Seems to be a software issue, as it happens with a second G2 as well. Lighting should have been ok, no bright direct light. Resetting environmental data within WMR doesn‘t fix the problem, as well as restarting Windows and WMR for Steam. Furthermore, it happens regularly that the cameras of the G2 seem to induce a „floating image“ when rotational/transversal Head mov…

Hello all, I received my quest 2 three days ago. After watching about 30 "how to" videos, I have reached the stage where I get "100%" for about 2 seconds then I get a black screen. Three days of complete and utter confusion and frustration. I have worked out that I needed to purchase Virtual Desktop @ AUD31.00. I purchased that but can find absolutely nowhere where I can download it. I then downloaded and installed the streamer app. I cannot see why I need this as I only want to use Occulus Quest 2 in flight sim. I have no idea of how to proceed from here and I am being increasingly frustrated by every video which tells me that this process is so si…
