MSFS Developer Stream starting soon
Thanks. Somehow they again changed where my feedback went. Now its here.https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/where-are-the-cumulonimbus-clouds/262852/54?u=pilotowawawa

MSFS Developer Stream starting soon
For those of you who want change in the weather. Please view this topic I created where I showed the storm around the St.Louis area. How it was portrayed in MSFS, how it's impossible to recreate it with presets and a bunch of examples, and source data for them to work on. We need votes, it's the only way they will pay attention to this. https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/where-are-the-cumulonimbus-clouds/262852/54?u=pilotowawawa

MSFS Developer Stream starting soon
If that's the case, then yes lets start a new thread to make our sentiments felt. Issue i've seen is that they get merged into an already existant thread. Case and point, the 2nd thread about clouds has all of these linked after other users have opened them. https://ibb.co/WLqf2L6

MSFS Developer Stream starting soon
I really do hope that people like @SeedyL can share the sentiment about our weather reality with Live Weather. Everytime I hear Seb talk about weather he always defers back to what's possible in preset mode. Most of us don't use preset mode. If we wanted a really good preset mode, fine then open it up for developers like the Hifi team to have more control on preset creation with no transition. I'd argue we had better management of weather in the old ESP code. I again bring up the point of what we had in Active Sky Next and their ability to give us literally tornadoes in live weather, TCU and even wing fade. Secondly, this constant conversation about CFD dynamics is great, but you don't have the visuals to back it up. I have not seen a towering TCU formation ever in this sim. When I mean towering I mean what you would see in real life up to the flight levels. I hate to be the one that brings the X-Plane conversation back, but if anyone has doubts of what is possible versus what we have, look at what they do with their towering clouds. Finally, Everyone who is frustrated with the current weather status should really make their feelings known in https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/metar-keeps-disrupting-the-weather-bugged-weather-cumulus-cb-clouds-only-no-medium-to-high-cloud-coverage/487587?u=pilotowawawa. Or here . https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/where-are-the-cumulonimbus-clouds/262852?u=pilotowawawa I keep hearing that they "monitor the forums" for feedback no what get's prioritized. The basic reality is that we are not happy with the weather state. We have made it clearly apparent in many places. Anywhere you look, their forums, here, reddit, the list keeps going, so if they are so attentive to what the community is asking for, why are we still not having a serious conversation that involves the cloud depiction. TLDR: We need a serious conversation on weather depiction with LIVE weather. CFD dyanmics are great, but do they matter if we can't even see it in the sim with Live weather?.

Combine AI with photogrammetry. is this possible?
Were. They announced a while back that Blackshark.ai and them were no longer in business.

12.4.1 is RtM 🙂
I just took a look at the new roadmap. Flight dynamics coming soon too. Honestly, I keep glancing over at XP lately. I may have to just buy my self and Airbus to give it a try over there. I have the 757 and 767 and very much enjoying flying there. Especially with the programmingdinosaur fork of Autoprtho that automatically switches to default textures for night flight.

Lots ox XPlane 12 freezing
I’ve been getting a CTD every flight. In the XPlane forums the feedback is “disable all add ons, install them one by one back”. So I guess that’s what I’ll be doing this evening…. Mind you, I simply didn’t use XPlane for two months and updated the beta and the issue started. I changed nothing.

787-9 Dreamliner for FS24 - Project Griffin Announcement
Honestly. Anyone remember how Aamir showed up in a Reddit post, then three weeks later they launched? It was very similar and who here can say it wasn’t one of the best things that’s happened to this hobby. I hope they follow the same foot steps.

I have had great results by locking FPS in sim then x4ing it
The best is locking your FPS on RTSS or Nvidia control panel to your refresh rate or achievable rate at 1% lows. After setting your multiplier to achieve your refresh rate. For me it’s 120HZ. With FGX2 I can sometimes achieve it, but the it goes way lower on complex scenarios. With X3 I always achieve 120+ FPS. I lock my FPS using RTSS to 117 and with this scenario I am always around 16-19 MS frame time. For me locking it at a low number like 30 or something of that nature to use FG to give me all those fake frames simply increases the frame time to almost double compared to the latter. Immediately when I do this it goes up to 30-33MS and there’s is a big difference in fluidity and latency.

Weather in FS2024 is dangerous
That is true. Sadly they say the C172 G1000 is the one they test all of their flight model and CFD with. So what does that say about everything they are developing.

Weather in FS2024 is dangerous
I’ve had wing drops before IRL. I'm simply saying that the effect of the thermals were too aggressive when it was similar conditions at the came airport IRL vs Sim. I’ve had gust where the yoke was slapped into my chest IRL because I had low level wind shear. I know that the simulator and IRL can both be aggressive. The difference was that on that IRL day winds were 28015G23 Where the SIM with 170/06 and no convective activity insight was uncontrollable.

Weather in FS2024 is dangerous
I flew in a 172 on a clear day with no gust and ended up in a left 45 degree bank because of a thermal 200 feet above the runway. To give you an example. I flew my real world sundowner the day prior with gust up to 25 and didn’t have that happen at all the entire flight. So yeah. MSFS weather leaves a lot to be desired d
