Got my Tobii Eye 5 yesterday and got it set up. I have had several TrackIRs over the years, but Tobii Eye is better in a few key areas. First, you don’t need to wear anything. I was a bit skeptical about how well this really worked, but the second thing I really like about Tobii is it is even smoother than the latest TrackIR. Super smooth in fact. Third, the freedom of movement is much better. I constantly found myself reaching the limit. Very good.

It seems that DLSS 4.5 is available for all RTX 30 videocards. But when I try to install/enable it, most of the options are not possible to change and I cannot use it. I would to have suggestions. Thanks.

I am using Win7 and FS9 with a Nvidia GeForce 9800GT card and recently one of the fan blades broke off and now it is noisy and vibrates a little. I need a new card that will run the 3-D and DirectX 11.0 on FS9. Any suggestions on a temporary fix on the fan and any ideas on a replacement card will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

In the flight simulation community, especially with the latest MSFS 2024 and X-Plane 12 releases, cockpit builders are constantly optimizing multi-monitor configurations for better immersion and space efficiency. One lesser-discussed but highly relevant technology is Dual-View LCD panels — displays that can show two completely independent video signals on a single physical screen. How Dual-View Works Unlike standard split-screen software solutions (which just duplicate or stretch the desktop), true Dual-View hardware uses a specialized LCD panel with dual LVDS ports (often 2-port 40-pin configuration). The panel internally splits the active area into two logical …

My specs are below. I run MSFS 2024 and currently have driver 591.86 installed. I was messing around and asked copilot based on my specs, what Nvidia driver should I be using and they said that the 3080ti's best choice for smoothness, etc would be 566.14. What do you all think about that? Am i doing a disservice using 591.x or is that better? Hi everyone, I'm currently putting together a home cockpit and I'm trying to move away from cropping regular monitors for the instruments. Square aspect ratio just works so much better for the gauges and engine displays. While looking for suitable LVDS modules I came across this 10.3-inch 768x768 LCD . It uses the standard 20-pin LVDS interface. Has anyone here actually driven one of these in MSFS or X-Plane? What kind of controller/board are you using? Any issues with the low native resolution or mounting in a panel? Would really appreciate any real-world experiences before I order one. Thanks!

Hello All.... I have owned this joystick combo for several years. Just recently I upgraded my system from Win 10 to 11. The Stick/Throttle combo now refuses to be recognized and the SST Software is also gone. I have attempted to upgrade the Drivers from the Logitech/Support site: 64bit 8.0.213,but continue to find on the Device Mangr. that only 64bit 8.0.121 is present, which will NOT work.... I contacted Logitech Support and was advised that these drives would NOT work on Win 11. If anybody has a working X52 Pro on Win 11.....could you PLEASE advise how you got it to worrk...and what Drivers and Software ver. works for you. I'm despera…

To my surprise the other day my 5 year old LG 32 inch gaming monitor is now failing. Kind of shocked it only lasted 5 years but I guess that is the semi norm these days unfortunately and its a common problem with LG monitors apparently. It still works I have faint horizontal lines about 2mm apart and it screws up the text. Interestingly in the middle of the screen it tends to breath in and out and for a few seconds everything looks fine but it quickly comes back. I tried a different cable and checked the connections but I can put up a test pattern without anything hooked up and those lines are still there. So it must be some sort of internal fault. This monitor…

I decided to shift to 16:9 aspect ratio of 4K (3840 x 2160) from 21:9 (3440 x 1440). In order to maintain FPS or improve FPS (I don’t use DLSS and/or any hacks) I dropped the render scaling from 200 to 150 to keep the pixel count in check. I was concerned I might lose some image quality, but after testing image quality was excellent (AA even better as it seems to prefer the 16:9 aspect). Old: 3440 x 1440 at Render Scaling = 200 = 6880 x 2880 = 19,814,400 pixels New: 3840 x 2160 at Render Scaling = 150 = 5760 x 3240 = 18,662,400 pixels So fewer pixels being processed but image quality was actually better at 16:9 (3840 x 2160). Another rea…

MSI 5090 Lightning Z at 800/1000 watts … Is it worth 2-7 FPS in a 3D shooter? Heck if one is going to spend $5,000+ on a GPU, may as well go for the nVidia 6000 Pro at $8000 (and not sold out) and you get 96GB GDDR7 VRAM not a pathetic 32GB. But there again, it is sold out … I keep thinking at some point the buyer market will be done with these prices … but year after year after year I’m proven wrong. There seems to be an inexhaustible number of folk willing to pay these prices.

Having bought my first gaming monitor I thought I would give Nvidia Smooth Vision a go - not because Prepar3D inherently needs to perform better on my setup but because I know from the racing sim I run and the occasional fps game what benefits high frame rates can bring as regards mitigating motion blur. Well, it sure worked wonderfully in that respect - it felt like I was running an fps game! But it seemed to cause a problem. I could no longer land my aircraft well - or at least repeatedly well - with the main trouble being getting the flare and throttle modulation correct. I never had this problem until I tried Smooth Motion. What I am not certain about is whe…

I have a NVidia RTX 4070 which has 1 HDMI connector and 3 Display Port Connectors. I am using the HDMI and one display port for monitors currently. I would like to add a small monitor (maybe the size of a tablet) to run instrument displays on. I am struggling to find a monitor of that size with a Display port connection. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I think I know what OLED is supposed to be good at w/ regard to no backlight bleed thru, but what about every other element of display quality compared of course to current standard LCD? Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

When setting up a flight simulator cockpit, most discussions focus on outside visuals, GPUs, and multi-monitor layouts. However, once you start working on dedicated instrument panels, the display format itself becomes a surprisingly important design decision. In my own cockpit planning, I found that wide-format monitors are not always ideal for avionics or engine instrumentation. Many aircraft layouts—especially legacy or mixed analog/digital panels—are still designed around square or near-square display areas. Using a widescreen often leads to wasted space or awkward UI scaling. A square 4:3 display format works particularly well for instruments like engine mon…

Hello, Been on 2020 for quite some time now but was wondering if i should be using vsync or locked fps. I have a rtx 4070ti super and a i9-10850k cpu. Currently use TAA and frame gen dx12. I’ve seen a mix so trying to get an idea what’s best. Don’t really wanna use dlss because I still see there’s annoying ghosting issues especially in the glass cockpit. My monitor is 144hz refresh rate and I fly in 2K 1440p resolution.

As I now have a very hefty RTX 5080, about the heaviest available, I just wondered how you guys are supporting your heavy cards. Simple adjustable post? More sophisticated bracket? One of those fancy LED brackets. One of those horizontal devices? Or maybe a vertical case mount with riser? Or maybe you are a scary individual who doesn't bother and hard enough to challenge physics. 😉
