Ok... maybe not a dilemma but I do have a question for you much smarter ones. I don't think a 5090 is in the future for me cost and availability wise. But I am thinking of 2 GPU's and would appreciate your input. Asus 4070 Super TI or,... RTX 5070 TI ?? An why? Thank you in advance

I'm planning to update my setup this year by buying 3 large TVs to provide full wrap-around visuals, i.e. one in front, and then two at either side, almost at right angles to create a sort of box I think the size needs to be driven by a couple of things; - TVs need to be big enough to enable me to sit inside the "box" - TVs need to be big enough so that when I look left and right, I'm not looking at the edge of the TV, but that the TV goes slightly back past my visual range anyone created such a setup and have some suggestions? I have a 55 inch single TV currently for simming, and it's not big enough for such a setup - I also have a 75" TV in th…

Seems like they near instantly sold out, but was wondering if anyone here managed to grab one? I'm not going to torture myself by checking stores for a while I think...hopefully these will become reasonable to get your hands on quicker than the 4090's did.

I am not going to change my 4070 for a 5070. But if I was upgrading from something far less, I would buy the 5070 and not the 4070. The fps gain should be close to the ratio of 672/504. Where you were getting 50fps before with a 4070, maybe 67 now with a 5070.

I know there has been a lot of discussion about these drivers on various forums and things "breaking" after installing them but for my own part, I have never been happier with a driver upgrade - ever! I hardly ever bother changing drivers because unless they are addressing a very specific problem that I am having, I have never really seen the point. Even when there are purported performance improvements, I have never seen them on my setup. I actually only bothered to install these 572.42 drivers in a "what the heck moment". I was already reasonably happy with the setup as it was though I had always had more stutter than I would have liked in P3D v4.5 which I am runni…

So, my computer is already connected to 3 monitors. I only use 1 for MSFS2020 because the other two are dedicated for other things. I have 1 more unused DP and 1 more HDMI. I fly the SF50 Vision Jet frequently, so I wanted to build a home cockpit; just something that works, nothing too extravagant. I currently use one tablet that acts as the three touchscreens on the SF50, but I want to change that to either a touchscreen wide enough to accommodate 3 screens, side by side, or get 3 small touchscreens so that they can be side by side. In addition, I'd like to add two slightly larger screens for the main display panels. The main problem, as you can see,…

I have been using my 27 inch 1080p monitor for a while now. Considering the low pixel density and my viewing distance (70 cm from my eyeballs to the monitor surface), the image quality with P3D version 4.5 is as good as I could ever wish for within the bounds of that limitation. If this were 2016 it would probably be state of the art in terms of flight simulation visuals (things have obviously moved along abruptly in that area since P3D version 4 with newer flight sims and 4K monitors). I use the 4x scaling option within the Nvidia control panel which of course means I am selecting 4K resolution within P3D itself. My RTX4080 Super has no problem with performance at these …

Wondering why so few Nvidia 5000 series GPUs? No wonder I can't get a Nvidia GPU at a decent price or lack thereof.

If I buy a 43" inch 4K TV for MSFS2020 (and later MSFS2024) will it make any difference if the TV has a 120Hz refresh rate instead of 50HZ? The 60hz tv's are considerable cheaper than the 120Hz's but will I notice the difference?

Hi all, Going to upgrade in next few months. AMD cards look attractive - lots of VRAM and price obviously better. I mainly use P3D but when I upgrade will be keen to use MSFS with Fenix, FBW etc. I run 4K monitor at 30 Hz vsync presently. Also may give xplane a go - basically I’ll go where the detailed jets are. I don’t see a lot of posts here about AMD cards. Is there a reason for this and any reason not to get one? Thanks for any advice you can offer! Rudy

https://wccftech.com/nvidia-smooth-motion-will-be-available-on-geforce-rtx-40-gpus-frame-gen-all-games/ NVIDIA's recently introduced Smooth Motion technology will soon be supported on GeForce RTX 40 GPUs. enabling frame-gen on all games. NVIDIA Confirms Smooth Motion is Coming for GeForce RTX 40 Series GPUs in Future Update For games that don't have support for DLSS, NVIDIA has come up with its new solution that competes against AMD's Fluid Motion Frames. We reported yesterday about Smooth Motion, which is AMD's technology for adding more smoothness to the gameplay. The option can now be found in the NVIDIA App under the DSR - Factors option but needs …

According to the Nvidia website, there's been no release of the new driver. I suppose there is no specific time of when it will be released. https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/results/

System > Performance > Scan Gained 118 MHz on GPU clock, +200 MHz on VRAM. I'm not sure if that leads to a discernable improvement with my RTX 3060 Ti, but it looks good on paper. GPU temp still nice and chilly at 53C with utilization up to 91%. Hat tip to IslandSimPilot via his latest video. Is in-app overclocking going to become something that everyone does, as part of the standard MSFS User Experience™? Or is it something that sounds nice but doesn't deliver much real value? Opinions?

https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-components/gpus/nvidia-geforce-rtx-5080-review As well as a bunch on YT. The consensus is that it’s disappointing, especially compared to the 5090 and 4080/4080 super. For MSFS, it’s slightly ahead or behind the 7900 XTX in 4K, which I just bought. I was hoping the 5080 might be worth returning the XTX, but doesn’t seem so. I’m guessing that a 5080 Super with more VRAM (if they launch one) will be a better bet.
