  4. So I am running a 460ti 16GB on a 1440p Gsync monitor and for years I usually upscale any games, including MSFS, to 3413x1920 for a sharper image. However the latest driver update (done in a clean way with DDU etc.) seems to have broken my DSR capability. I activated DSR and selected resolutions in the nvidia control panel and the upscaled resolutions also show up in any games display options. However, selecting them changes nothing. Even when the games options are showing 1920, the screen noticeably is still running in 1440p. The only workaround is to upscale the whole desktop to 1920, but thats impractical as it makes the whole windows screen too small for working wit…

  11. Hello, here is my config: X570 Aorus Ultra Ryzen 7 5800X3D RTX 4070 12 Go 64 Go Ram Win10 MSFS 2024 SSD Samsung 990 Pro My question is quite simple. If current graphics card prices were reasonable, would it be better to upgrade from a 4070 to a 4080 super (second-hand) or to a 5070 ti, or would it be better to aim higher because the gain won't be enough? Thanks for answer Franck

  12. Hi folks. I've been using a second PC networked to my primary flightsim PC to handle some things like ATC, Navigraph Charts, and various tools like SimToolkitPro, FS-FlightControl, etc. Using a networked PC is sometimes a bit clunky, and some newer tools don't seem to support a networked setup. My primary monitor is an ultra-widescreen running at 3440 x 1440, and my GPU is an RTX 4070 Super. I have a second monitor that I use for work, which is a 4k monitor, currently connected to my work laptop. If I added this monitor to my flightsim PC, would it have a significant effect on my MSFS framerates or performance? I'd be using it mostly for tools outside of MS…

  13. Topic. USA dollars. Assuming they will be actually readily available on shelves by the dozens this time, how crazy will you go for 35-50% faster than a 4090?

  14. So I managed to get a MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC from the MSI website directly. Was a dumb bundle with a $200 power supply that I don’t need, but I’ll just sell the PSU or use it in another build. My initial impressions grade: A-. Ordering process and delivery. I just randomly checked the MSI shop website and saw it available so total impulse buy. Took less than a week to get to me. (I'm in Washington and was shipped from California.) The box had “MSI” branding on it which was kinda stupid IMHO (invites thieves), but alas, it was in the box. Driver just left it on my porch even though he should have got my signature. Box was heavily taped, but the two boxe…

  18. I'm running P3D 4.5 on a Win7 64 OS. When I boot up from overnight cold, the monitor screen alternately flashes between normal display and black rhythmically. I ran an OCCT stress test on the Geforce GTX970 video card yesterday and it did not show any errors. Needlessly to say my system is long in the tooth, but P3D is running smoothly and I really don't want to deal with configuring Win 11 and all the MS BS. I don't have a problem with throwing 200-250 USD toward a new monitor. My desk cutout opening is only 26" wide horizontally so I'm not sure what is the largest monitor would be that will fit. I believe the current ASUS is a 27" diagonal but I'm not sure. Any on …

My Sony tv which I used with msfs 2024 is needing replaced, I have been running msfs 2024 at 4k 60hz with sync set at half refresh this keeps fps at a constant 30 and I’m happy with the smooth experience, I have been looking at monitors and a lot run at 120 or 144 refresh rates if I chose one of those can I still run msfs at the above settings so I still get a smooth experience or go with a smaller tv screen size(43in) at 60hz. jim

When I bought my 4070 12GB, prices were $550 to $600. Now the cheapest is $780 (Newegg) and most are over $900. The only reasonably priced 16GB card I could find is the 4070ti 16GB for $970 https://www.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-Graphics-WINDFORCE-GV-N507TGAMING-OC-16GD/dp/B0DTRC7782

  24. Hi all. I've been puttering along flying mostly airliners with an i9 10900 with an RTX 3080 GPU I purchased early in 2021 in 3440 x 1400. At that time my system was nearly cutting edge and it served me well through the First Age of MSFS 2020 (base game plus FBW A320, CRJ), decently through the Second Age (PMDG, other third party airliners, early bespoke scenery and airports), but it's clearly not up to the Third Age of MSFS (iFly Max, Ini airliners, most airports being third party, 2024, and especially traffic injection and third party ATC). Sure, a combination of Frame Gen mod and especially the heaven-sent AutoFPS are hacks that can keep the game mostly flyable at me…
