I have an PC surge protector my PC and monitor are plugged into. Probably 1 out every 30 flights my surge protector will trip causing me to shut everything down. This mostly with MSFS 2024 but sometimes 2020 as well. I have the sensitivity down as far as it will go. Do anyone have a surge protector that is good but not quite as sensitive? Thanks.

Even for people who habitually yearn to be on the bleeding edge of tech, this might dampen the urge (somewhat) to immediately jump on the bandwagon.... https://www.engadget.com/computing/nvidia-announced-dlss-4-will-come-to-all-rtx-gpus-044835926.html Excerpt:

I am looking to improve the visuals of MSFS 2020. I have a 4K 55” OLED TV but for some reason the game looks bland and dull. I understand games don’t look as good on TVs as they do on a good quality monitors. The smallest size monitor I am willing to get is 44” Any suggestions on a high end monitor?

For those of us using DLSS and blurry glass cockpits, this looks to be fixed or rather, much much improved with DLSS 4. I guess this will divide opinions as only RTX 5xxx can get DLSS4 (EDIT: Actually not sure thats entirely true, can anyone confirm!?) Skip to 4:30 for the DF video:

Not buying a new rig for another 18 months... Limited with a smaller MTX Case and 600-watt PSU. Just want to upgrade my vid card for now and the 5060ti would fit and not use any more power than my 2080 Super. That said would I see an improvement in MFS and other games? What do you all think? Thanks!

Hi all, I have a i7 14700k, 64gb DDR 5. My 3090 is the oldest component and I’d like to see some new/improved visuals offered apparently by the 4xxx cards and up. Should I consider a 4070ti super or a 4080 super (still some new ones available before stocks dry up). I’m scared that I’d see a reduction in VRAM which seems counterproductive. I only use the machine for MSFS. I know I could get a used 4090 on eBay etc but I’m not really fancying spending £1500+ on a used GPU to find it goes pop a few months later. Albeit the 50xx series will likely be bank breaking?! Ultimately I don’t want to over-buy a GPU to upgrade, and also don’t wan…

My pc specs are currently in my auto sig. I have a 3080 TI and was curious for MSFS 2024 (flying Fenix and 3rd party airports with high/ultra settings), what would I gain by uploading my GPU to a 4090 card and upgrading my ram to 64? My performance is ok but I feel like I can get more out of the sim possibly. Or would it be minimal?

I'm still a bit of a novice when it comes to GPUs and MSFS settings.... I just re-built my desktop, with an AMD 9800X3D, x870 mobo, 32MB DDR5-6000, and AIO, but for now I've kept my EVGA 3080 10GB VRAM (I think it got it for around $700 early on in the 30 series launch). I have both 2020 and 2024, with airliner and airport add-ons, and I have 3 4K monitors (two 32", one at 144Hz, and one 27"). Not surprisingly, with primarily "high" DX11 settings in 2020 and DX12 in 2024, my FPS on the ground at med-large airports is 15-20, sometimes slowing to an unflyable slideshow when taking off. I think I'd be happy with 20-30 FPS at all phases of flight, which I can p…

There are leaks coming out that the new Nvidia 50 series cards are going to be outrageously expensive. Now I had planned to upgrade in 2025, but if true, I am going to put all those plans on ice and wait, watch and see what happens. I may skip this whole generation. Or will see what the competition brings to the table. Patience will rule. Nvidia will not be taking me for a ride. They will not be getting my money. The buck stops here.

Looking to upgrade my 4070 to a 4070 ti super or AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT Triple Fan 20GB. i know the AMD doesn’t have frame generation so im a bit worried that I won’t have good performance without it. I currently have an i9-10850k and play at 1440p with ai traffic. I really need the extra vram as a max out at some airports, especially being in 1440p. Any thoughts? Would really like to save $50-75 with the AMD card but if I won’t be able to use frame generation…idk

Currently I have ASUS ROG 27' that have served me well since 2017 for P3D and MSFS2020. However, I think that now it's time to move on. I'm not planning to have multi-monitor set-up, but would rather stick with ultra-wide monitor + an option of split-screen. I'm curious if anyone currently utilize this option with MSFS. Also, since I'm flying a lot in heavy hubs such as KJFK with 100% PSXT/AIG traffic, I don't think I would be able to allow full 4k, so 2k is still my preferred resolution with 12GB 4070. Would appreciate your advices. TIA

hello. I use three 32-inch televisions for the main view of the simulator and I use Nvidia surround to join the three screens into one. The problem is that on the side screens the view as you approach the end of them lengthens and becomes distorted. Do you know any way to make it look correct? Greetings.

I built my present cockpit in MSFS2020 around a 48" 4K LG Ultragear monitor, and it's pretty awesome. I have been considering for some time now to rebuild my entire cockpit around a triple monitor setup. However, there are quite a few considerations 1) Space, I am limited and the idea of three 48" monitors isn't really an option 2) three 4K monitors I'm guesing would need to be driven by a 4090 and even then I'm not convinced 3) The cost, having to shell out £3000 on two more monitors and upgrade to a 4090 simply isn't going to happen. Soooo, I put my thinking head on and if it works, I think I could have found the holy grail of solutions! I am thinking of purchasing two …

Hello, I am searching for good 75 inch TV with VRR so that when the flightsim goes under 60FPS it will not result in stutter. At least that is what I thought VRR does ? I think TCL Mini Led is what I am searching for. Any thought and experience is welcome. I hope I can post this here. Cannot find a Hardware category.
