So I got a new RTX4080 and connected my 3 projectors, as before: 1xHDMI, 2x DP (where I use a DP->HDMI adapter) Now, when I start the PC, only the primary display is being recogniced. Only after turning the projectors on, all 3 displays are recogniced in Windows. With my old GPU, all 3 displays have been identified also in off state. I checked, if it has sth to do with the DP ports, But also after connecting one of the other projectors to the 2nd HDMI port, it is not recogniced on start up. Hope, someone can help! Thx, Michael

Hi All, Been searching the interwebs but can't seem to locate an answer. I currently have six monitors plugged into my PC. Four off my 4090 and two off my motherboards (X670E) onboard graphics. I'm trying to establish if I can attach a seventh (yes, I'm greedy 🙂) monitor via one of the USB-C ports on my motherboard and run it in addition to the two onboard graphics (HDMI + DisplayPort)s. Anybody got any ideas? Cheers

Hi-my rig is a 13900k watercooled cpu, 4090 graphics card, 32 5800 speed ram. Monitors are 3 in nvidia surround at 4k and a 1080p touch screen, all four of which are on the Nvidia card. Two more touch monitors are run off the onboard video. All monitors work fine. Lately something weird happens. If my cursor's on the three in surround I get 50+fps at high settings. Other three monitors also work fine. The rig has worked fine for over a month. But, now if I click on any one of the other three monitors not in surround, the fps on the surround monitors drops under 10fps. Clicking on the surround monitors again restores fps to 50+. This just started happening. Previ…

I am a bit irritated. I have replaced my 1080TI with a RTX4070. But in P3D (shift-z) the graphics RAM is still shown as 3,5/11 GB used. Why 11? The new card has got 12 GB. Also the FPS are pretty much the same level, as I had before with my 1080TI at the same settings. I expected to see some increase after looking at several performance comparisons. Thanks, Michael

Hi everyone, I am planning to upgrade my 1080TI GPU. The 1080TI does a good job, as long as I keep settings on a moderate level and avoid landing at complex airports at night or with bad weather. My goal is to be able to fly every airport in any weather condition at stable 30 FPS minimum. But even after intensive research I am still unclear what the best option is for my situation, which is: - Prepar 3d v5 (so no DSS, Framegeneration, etc support needed) -3 projectors at 1080p for my home cockpit (no 4k resolution planned in the future) - CPU: i9-13900k - budget: 1000-1500 EUR I first tried the RTX 4070, but that card didn't give…

Hi folks, Looking around to get some information towards getting a new monitor, and while there are tons of information available it seems that pretty much everyone just "defends" whatever monitor thy purchased and not really providing the why beyond that they just like it. I mean, that's fair of course we all should use whatever we like more, but I am trying to understand exactly what each option gives you and why, with the idea of getting the best possible views for flying. I also get that GA vs Airliners are different, and so what could be an ideal view given by a monitor for one could not be as good for the other. I was these days considering one o…

Hello to all, I would like to re fly (stopped in 2017) using multi monitor set up (3 of 27" screens). I have ordered as CPU a Ryzen 7900x3d. So what could you suggest me to purchase as: -screens (how many Mherz refresh?) - GPU (how much Vram should I get, 12,16 or more GB?) - better AMD or Invidia (seems AMD has more VRAM but less frame than Invidia that, instead, has the DLLS better).. Please help

Hi all. I know this can be a little ackward to ask this in this day and era, but there are not many options, so I try. I have a special interest to make FS98 to run as smooth as I can with Dynamic scenery/traffic. And because of FS98 architecture, I have checked it only works in W8.1 32 bit and under. So with that context I have experienced issues because what it seems to be the z-buffer limitations of the graphic cards on the PC's I have managed to work with FS98. (The issues are mainly that, when there are more than 6-7 aircraft, ground and aircraft textures get black and/or flashing). The cards I have used are AMD Radeon R7-200 and an NVIDIA G…

Hello all, I am thinking of upgrading to a 4070. I currently have a 5800x3d with a 3070. I use a 55"OLED tv and usually fly PMGD to big payware airports (inibuilds KLAX,KJFK, Flytampa, FSDT etc.) with live weather at 4k. I do get some stutters and poor performance sometimes but overall I'm very happy with what I have. I figured the frame generation alone would be worth the cost. I found the Gigabyte RTX4070 for $550 and for the price I think it would be worth it. I don't want to spend $1000+ on 4080. Thanks for any suggestions

I currently have a Dell XPS 8930 Desktop for my MSFS. It has a GForce GTX 1050 ti card now, and it isn't working as the program shuts off after just a short (20-30 seconds) time. So, I'm looking for a new graphics card that will fit in my Computer. Something in the 200-350 dollar range is what I can afford. I have no idea how to understand all the specifications on each card to know if I should buy. Also I don't know how to find out if it will fit. The Dell site is absolutely no help at all. Also, I have 16gb RAM. Would it help to upgrade to 32gb? Any help someone can give would be much appreciated. Gary

Hi all I have purchased 3 identical Dell monitors which go up to 165hz refresh. when setting up the nvidia surround I can choose a number of refresh rates between 50 -165hz. My MSFS is capped at 30FPS but I’m finding on average it’s between 20-25fps as I have ultra settings. Does the nvidia refresh affect anything and should I set the screens to 50hz or 165hz or somewhere in between, as I don’t know if it will make the game smoother or if there is no affect as fps is lower? thanks

I'd like to upgrade my setup to a 4K OLED monitor. I'm currently running 2 x 27in 4K IPS displays, but only run flight sim on one while the other is for apps etc. I am considering moving to a single large monitor, perhaps ultrawide, and then I can use one of the 4K 27" in portrait mode. What's a good monitor? I have a powerful PC (4090, 5800X3d), and budget is not an issue as long as the monitor isn't like $2500+.I'm wondering if I should get a QD-OLED Ultrawide, or a 4k OLED, non-ultrawide. Would love to hear from people that have recently bought OLED monitors for flightsim.

Greetings. I replaced my Samsung QLED 49" with LG G3 OLED 55". The performance is way better now. Refresh rate 120Hz, VRR, G-Sync etc. The old QLED did not have any of that. However in game image quality is poor, even desktop looks different. The clarity is not there anymore. The image in the game, especially in the flight deck, is not as clear as it was on my QLED. I have spent a week tweaking it but the image is not as clear as before, it is a bit blurry now. I am curious if this is something to do with a larger screen (55"), or this is how OLED TV works if I use it as PC monitor. I am wondering if I should either get 50 or 55" Samsung QLED instead. I cannot figure…

Greetings. Trying to make a decision if upgrading my current TV will make a difference. I currently have Samsung Q80T 50” 4K TV. Overall no problems. I have powerful PC and GPU so overall performance is good, however I see some stuttering. My current TV has 60 Hz refresh rate, no G-Sync etc. I tried to enable DX12 and NVIDIA DLSS and I noticed fps went up to from 50 to 110 in FSDT ORD scenery PMDG 737. The performance was great but the only downside is that some areas on the screen looked weird when I move cameras, like small lugs. A friend of mine told me it could be due to my TV refresh rate is 60 but GPU produces much higher. He had same issue and whe…

I have a 40" UHDTV as a main monitor for MSFS. It looks pretty good. Itis at 60 Hz refresh rate. I have a 4090 card and an Intel 13900 CPU and get around 120fps mot of the times. Would I notice a difference if I buy a 50" UHDTV that operates at 120 Hz. Does the refresh rate really make a difference for MSFS???

They're going to concentrate on making AI gpus. So, the bitcoin miners went away, but the AI techies are ready to load their wagons with hardware. Wonder if series 4000 gpus will become scarce now. And prices rise.

Hi-I have six screens on one computer. Exterior view on 3 screens in surround, and a fourth for navaids. The fourth is a touchscreen. These four monitors are on an Nvidia card in surround. I also have fifth and sixth touchscreen monitors running from the motherboard's on board hdmi and displayport graphics. Trying to get these two set up as touchscreens also. Anyone ever done something like this successfully? I'm having no luck. Thanks.

My old setup was an overclocked 6700k computer driving 4 monitors from an Nvidia Titan for P3dv4, and a smaller networked computer to run atc on one monitor and instruments on the other monitor. My new setup will be an overclocked 13900k, a watercooled Nvidia 4090, 5600 ram, and two Samsung 990 ssd's on an MSI motherboard. My tech tells me I have enough horsepower to run P3dv5 with 4 screens off the Nvidia (surround on three and GPS on the other) and set up the motherboard to run 2 more monitors for P2ATC and my instruments. Do you think this is going to work, or should I forget it and go back to a second networked computer running P2ATC and the instrument…

Hello, Looking for a new 1440p monitor. Current rig is a 7800x3d / 7900 xtx build. I was wondering if there was any preference if I was going to use the PC mostly for sim use, occasional gaming and working with spreadsheets. I've always had IPS monitors for the last few years, and was never really satisfied with the how dark cockpits looked. OLED panels are out of my budget, as only the absolute top end models have been released here so far. Is color reproduction and black smearing that much worse on VA panels ? Also, do Ultrawide monitors have any advantage when flyiing other than a larger FOV ? If I were lookiing for a curved monitor, what is the curvature that …

Hey! I currently have a RTX 3070ti with a 12th gen i5. MSFS works well enough. I do see a massive drop in performance in the typical areas, egll, kjfk etc. I do unfortunately push the sliders to the right most of the times. I wanted to ask if moving from a 3070ti to a 4070 just for frame generation would make a huge difference? Any thoughts?

He says with a couple of settings, the Quest 3 can do a superb image. If you have enough cpu and gpu to accomplish it. (OpenXR Toolkit is different app than OpenXR Tools.).
