  1. What was the name of the add-on? I didn’t think Asobo provided any sort of interface (SDK) into real-time changing of PAPI light intensity? And, is PAPI intensity available via SDK for 3rd party airports … if so, I wonder how many actually have this implemented? I must admit, I haven’t see PAPI intensity feature in any airport I’ve purchased (about 640 of them).
  2. Yes, I do video composition, upscaling with various methods/models, 3D animation, music composition, software development, and a few other core intensive tasks on my Threadripper PC (AMD 9975WX on ASUS WRX90-SE SAGE motherboard and two 5090s and several Gen5 M.2). But, I also have my other gaming PC based on AMD 9950X3D with one 5090. These are both “High End Desktop” computers put for different use cases. The 9950X3D2 would not be a benefit for me in either use case. For gaming the 9950X3D2 would have no benefit over my 9950X3D. For video comps, upscaling with AI models, 3D animation, music composition etc. the 9950X3D2 lags far behind my 9975WX Pro. So the 9950X3D2 doesn’t fit in either high end market. Now if AMD stopped making 9950X3D so as to sell for higher margin the 9950X3D2 that would make financial sense but not sure how well the consumer would receive such a decision … the 9950X3D2 is clearly not selling very well … every retailer shows them as “in stock”.
  3. I believe what is missing in MSFS 2024 is that the PAPI lights are static intensity which is NOT how they work in the real world where ATC would adjust them based on day, night, weather conditions. My understanding is ATC can set the intensity level and/or if there is PCL system in place (typically smaller airports), the pilot on approach can control their intensity. In addition PAPI lights can flash when an aircraft is on the runway. I don’t believe any of these are implemented in MSFS 2024 so I’d love to see a good add-on that does this (if possible via SDK) or to have Asobo implement such a system as “default” … PAPI’s are important part of the approach/landing process and something that deserves attention.
  4. Airport is EGFF Day PAPI is too weak: Dawn is ok: Dusk is weak but Ok: Night too bright: EDIT: this are 4K res snaps so you'll want to view full screen.
  5. They support both commercial and non-commercial.
  6. Interesting, is this a screen resolution issue? The runway lights seem “correct” in SU4 but the PAPI lights are far too dim. Does this add-on allow for adjustments to user preference? And, does it allow changes to brightness of PAPI lights? Rob.
  7. Depends on your country and the source of imagery, it's a bit more involved (in the US anyway) as USDA NAIP, IFTN, NDOP, OSIP (local state) are funded by us (tax payers) so the imagery is available for free as it should be. Now packaging that data for use in a flight simulator is certainly a service which can justify being funded by users of the service. Never have been a fan of ReShade (replacing DLLs that the developers of games/sims rely on is not a good idea, even more so for security considerations in this day and age). All the ReShade functionality can be and should be provided "in sim" so as to be in the optimal execution of the graphics pipeline rather than forced as post-processing (aka ReShade) which can be an expensive (not always) hammer and chisel method to image adjustments (and a good way to cheat in online combat type games). I think if LR want to stop it's usage, they will need to open the door (features in the graphics settings) to permit end user "adjustments" so as to be manageable.
  8. I stopped using Tom’s hardware for any information as it’s usually wrong and or skewed testing.
  9. I use Map Enhancement with Google Pro subscription and SimHeaven with Orbx Global Forests v2 … works very well for me.
  10. All the folks that run DLSS FG will never notice anyway 😉 ..
  11. Agree, but wouldn't we need to be physically standing behind his TV/Monitor to do that? And then there is time of day, weather, world location (impacts the haze level), etc.
  12. I think you’ll need to figure out how to do pictures … it would help.
  13. Recommend XP12 beta with a few add-ons … will get you the list later (it’s not too long).
