According to what we've seen from Asobo, there is supposed to be a great deal of commonality between MSFS 2020 and the yet-unreleased MSFS 2024, so we expect that very many MSFS discussion threads, both old and new, would/will apply to both sims. I am confident that our user base possesses the requisite intelligence to be able to sort thru MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024 posts during the brief overlap period where both sims still enjoy widespread interest. To distinguish between MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024. The example shows FSX and FSX-SE Just substitute MSFS 2024. My suggestion is to only tag MSFS 2024 topics. Leave the 2020 and 2020/2024 comparison topics un-tagged.

If you need to post screen shots of a problem, please limit to 2 or 3 shots. If you need to post a photo collage demonstrating something, please post the screenies in the screenshot forum and then post in the relevant forum with a link to the screenshot thread in that post, so that folks that want to see the pix can go over there to look, and people on tablets or with metered internet connections don't get clobbered with 50 MB of pictures downloading.

I did some clean-up on my computer, careful not to do not to disturb 2024...well, 2024 will not load now, giving me a white box directing me to the Xbox App for help...there the only thing to do was to instaall 2024 under Xbox...did not do that...my original 2024 was store bought... up to that point in time 2024 was working perfectly... any help appreciated...

Hi all, I've been working on a side project for a while and want some feedback. (TLDR: Video Below) I wrote a small Linux program that makes a Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 work again in modern flight sims. It reads flight state from MSFS 2024 (running under Proton) or X-Plane 11/12 (native Linux), and drives the stick's motors through the Linux kernel's evdev force-feedback interface. Now that I have a high end CPU (9800X3D) and GPU (4070 S) I've found a whole new set of things to adjust. I am on a 1 GB Xfinity connection and the system has 128GB of NVMe rolling cache. Sim is running at 75+ FPS with TLOD 400 / OLOD 200 / Buildings and Clouds at Ultra, everything else at High. GPU is at 98% load but only 9GB of 12GB GPU memory is in use. CPU is about 45% busy and only 28 GB of 64 GB system memory is committed. Flying at 4,000' AGL in Idaho mountains I see a lot of scenery popping when I look out the side windows or switch to external camera. Some of that scenery that pops into place is within a couple miles of the plane as it flies. …

Hi, Night lights (runway, taxiway and city) look too large and unrealistic, with a strong glow/halo effect. Is this normal in MSFS 2024 or is there any fix, mod or setting to reduce the light size/bloom? Thanks.

Looks like there won't be any live weather injection into the sim until Meteoblue is back online. This only affects those that use default weather. I noticed the website wasn't pulling down any live weather earlier but hoped it didn't affect what the sim could pull down. Looks like it did. Hope the outage doesn't last too long.

I came back to Beyond ATC after not using it for a long time and thought I should give the latest update a go. My thoughts: - vectors to approach are non existent. I was doing an approach into EGLL. It vectored me to 09L via the OCK transition, then nothing. - 10 miles from TOD I requested descent (the frequency was busy). I was 20 miles past the TOD before it acknowledged and issued me descent clearance (I had to use speedbrakes all the way down). - there's still not much visual traffic, despite me having airports approach and departing on 6 and en route on 8. Back to PXPT until this improves.

Following the conversation with @MrBitstFlyer on the topic of field of view (FoV) in another unrelated thread, I was asked to start a separate thread to share my method for setting up FoV in MSFS. While it may not be as important as in racing sims, I think that using a more realistic FoV is a real benefit for flight sims as well. With the right FoV, you get the most correct sense of speed, object size, distance judgement and no perspective distortion. Hello, I did the full tutorial of Chaseplane all the way till the end. So far so good. But as soon as I start MSFS2024 again and want to use Chaseplane it's asking me again to do the tutorial !!! I can't figure out how to solve this. Anyone ?

This belonged in the recent thread that was locked: try default RealTime traffic. I'm first trying this now at SKRG and I couldn't tell the difference between it and FSLTL. I do use BATC but sometimes avoid using its injector and this seems to work fine as a sub for FSLTL.
