	Hi all,<br />
	<br />
	Here is a quick preview of two more GA fields for California that couldn't be more different. KKIC (King City) is south of Monterey in an agricultural and industrial area, and KCPU (Calaveras County) is in the Sierra foothills on a beautiful plateau.<br />

<p>
	Further to discussion of the concept demonstration version of the MSFS2020_AutoFPS starting <a href="https://dev.avsim.com/forums/topic/640425-msfs-adaptive-lod/?do=findComment&amp;comment=5065335" rel="">here</a>, the app has now matured to a point to where I am happy to formally release it.
</p>

<p>
	You can download the latest version of MSFS2020_AutoFPS <a href="https://github.com/ResetXPDR/MSFS2020_AutoFPS/releases/latest" rel="external nofollow">here</a>.
</p>

<p>
	In summary, this <strong>free</strong> utility is a new development that is a simplification of, and a slightly different concept to, DynamicLOD_ResetEdition. It aims to improve MSFS performance and smoothness by automatically changing the two settings that impact MSFS performance the most, namely TLOD and cloud quality settings, based on the current AGL and with an easy to use GUI. It provides features such as:
</p>

<ul><li>
		Automatically adjusts TLOD to achieve a user-defined target FPS band based on pre or user-defined maximum and minimum TLODs,
	</li>
	<li>
		TLOD minimum on ground/landing option, which prioritises TLOD over FPS during these flight phases and also averts exacerbating existing texture tearing issues with DX12,
	</li>
	<li>
		Cloud quality decrease option for when FPS can't be achieved at the lowest desired TLOD,
	</li>
	<li>
		Automatic pause when MSFS loses focus option, particularly useful if using FG due to varying FPS when MSFS gains or loses focus,
	</li>
	<li>
		Automatic FPS settling timer on MSFS graphics mode and focus changes to allow FPS to stabilise before being acted upon,
	</li>
	<li>
		Simultaneous PC, FG and VR mode compatibilty including correct FG FPS display and separate FPS targets for each mode,
	</li>
	<li>
		A greatly simplified GUI option that uses pre-defined settings for an automated experience suited to most user scenarios, and
	</li>
	<li>
		Auto restoration of original settings changed by the utility.
	</li>
</ul><p>
	Important:
</p>

<ul><li>
		This utility directly accesses active MSFS memory locations while MSFS is running to read and set TLOD and cloud quality settings on the fly at a maximum rate of one read and, if required, change per setting per second. The utility will first verify that the MSFS memory locations being used are still valid and if not, likely because of an MSFS version change, will attempt to find where they have been relocated. If it does find the new memory locations and they pass validation tests, the utility will update itself automatically and will function as normal. If it can't find or validate MSFS memory locations at any time when starting up, the utility will self-restrict to read only mode to prevent the utility making changes to unknown MSFS memory locations.
	</li>
	<li>
		As such, I believe the app to be robust in its interaction with validated MSFS memory locations and to be responsible in disabling itself if it can't guarantee that. Nonetheless, this utility is offered as is and no responsibility will be taken for unintended negative side effects. Use at your own risk!
	</li>
</ul><p>
	More information, including instructions on how to install, update, uninstall and configure the various options in the app, can be found in the readme file located <a href="https://github.com/ResetXPDR/MSFS2020_AutoFPS/blob/main/README.md" rel="external nofollow">here</a>.
</p>

<p>
	I hope that the app proves useful in getting the most out of your MSFS 2020 experience. I welcome any feedback you have on this app and will do my best to fix any bugs or issues that are identified..
</p>

	Hi all,
</p>

<p>
	I've been working on a side project for a while and want some feedback. <strong>(TLDR: Video Below)</strong>
</p>

<p>
	I wrote a small Linux program that makes a Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 work again in modern flight sims. It reads flight state from MSFS 2024 (running under Proton) or X-Plane 11/12 (native Linux), and drives the stick's motors through the Linux kernel's evdev force-feedback interface. No plugin needed in either sim. It should also work for other old FFB joysticks, I just don't have any others to test.
</p>

<p>
	<strong>Yes, I know that most people don't run MSFS 2024 on Linux. But maybe you do, and this also works for XP 11/12..</strong>
</p>

<p>
	Microsoft dropped support for ffb in Windows 11 for these old sticks, so sorry, can't do anything about that... It could work in Windows 10, but I haven't bothered building for that. If there's interest I could look into doing that. Are many of you running MSFS 2024 on Windows 10?
</p>

<p>
	I'm about to open a small beta if there's any interest. I want to be sure the app doesn't fall over on hardware and distros I haven't touched. I've only tested on my own machine (CachyOS + KDE Plasma 6). If you fly on Linux (Fedora, Ubuntu, Mint, Pop!_OS, openSUSE, Arch, anything with systemd) and you've got an FFB2 or even any other force feedback joysting sitting in a drawer, I'd really appreciate you trying it.
</p>

<p>
	If you're interested, leave a comment here and I'll come back to you with how to get it.
</p>

<p>
	<strong>FAQ</strong>
</p>

<p>
	1. Is this free -&gt; <u><strong>YES</strong></u>. The version I'm showing will be released as a totally free version. This is a super niche product.. if it takes off, I could perhaps build a version with cloud saves, profile sharing and other value added features, and maybe charge 5 bucks. but that's far away, and this version will be free.
</p>

<p>
	2. Will the source be released -&gt; Maybe, haven't decided yet.
</p>

<p>
	3. YOU ASKED FOR ROOT!! -&gt; Yes, many people are new to Linux. If you know what you're doing, just create that one file yourself and you don't need root.
</p>

<p>
	4. AI SLOP!! -&gt;  Yes, I used Ai to help me build this. Yes, I tested it and read the code.. I do know some programming. Feel free to ignore this if you hate it.
</p>

	<strong>Version 3.9.1<br />
	April 11th, 2026</strong>
</p>

<p>
	- GSX (all versions) NEW: Push-in Towing service. A towbarless tug can tow your aircraft from the taxiway to the gate at high speed, with automatic route selection along taxiway paths. Available from the service selection menu that appears after choosing a parking position during taxi.
</p>

<p>
	- GSX (all versions) NEW: Gate-to-Gate Towing. When already parked at a gate, Push-in can push you out using the existing pushback route, then tow you to the new gate. The tug automatically selects the best pushback direction based on the destination.
</p>

<p>
	- GSX (all versions) NEW: Back navigation across all GSX menus. Menus now show a Back option (as the last entry) when navigated to from another menu, allowing you to return without closing and reopening.
</p>

<p>
	- GSX Pro NEW: Seated Passengers support for PMDG 737-700 Passengers version in MSFS 2024.
</p>

<p>
	- GSX (all versions) NEW: Pushback speed is now adjustable via a slider in the Simulation settings tab.
</p>

<p>
	- GSX (all versions) NEW: Handler Script Editor: code folding with Notepad++-style +/- markers in the fold margin. Click the margin or press Ctrl+/ to collapse or expand a block.
</p>

<p>
	- GSX (all versions) NEW: Handler scripts: new transmitKeyEvent(eventName, value=0) function fires SimConnect client events through the native MSFS 2024 transmit path, the same way GSX does internally.
</p>

<p>
	- GSX (all versions) Change: The "Revoke parking services" entry in the Change menu (labelled "Revoke FollowMe and parking services" when FollowMe is active) now requires a Yes/No confirmation to prevent accidental activation.
</p>

<p>
	- GSX (all versions) Change: The bypass pin is now tracked jitter-free during pushback, computed directly from aircraft position instead of reading back from SimConnect.
</p>

<p>
	- GSX (all versions) Fix: Additional MARS data isolation fixes: pushback settings, stop positions and other mutable properties could still leak between sub-positions in certain editing scenarios.
</p>

<p>
	- GSX (all versions) Fix: MARS parking position changes made in the 3D editor were not being saved.
</p>

<p>
	- GSX (all versions) Fix: Error spam in the log when repositioning to a runway, caused by missing MARS attributes on runway objects.
</p>

<p>
	- GSX (all versions) Fix: SimBrief data fetch now uses a 15-second timeout and only falls back to userid-based lookup on explicit reload.
</p>

<p>
	- GSX (all versions) Fix: Crash when selecting an undefined door slot in the aircraft 3D editor.
</p>

<p>
	- GSX (all versions) Fix: Crash when warping to a parking at an airport that has been unloaded by the simulator.
</p>

<p>
	- GSX (all versions) Fix: Vehicle path spikes at transitions from long straights into turns, caused by incorrect heading on deferred bend points.
</p>

<p>
	- GSX (all versions) Fix: Crash in baggage loader when the gate is a de-ice area.
</p>

<p>
	- GSX (all versions) Fix: Marshaller "Please cut engines" message could appear when engines were already off.
</p>

<p>
	- GSX (all versions) Fix: Cargo loading progress LVar could prematurely report 100% when the rear loader finished before the front loader materialized, causing progress tracking to stop while the front loader was still active.
</p>

<p>
	- GSX (all versions) Fix: Services waiting for a door to reach the desired state now retry the toggle event at the same interval as the "Waiting for your action" warning (default 10s), instead of waiting forever if the aircraft ignored the first event.
</p>

<p>
	- GSX (all versions) Fix: PMDG 737-700 variant detection in MSFS 2024 — the 737-700 Passenger version was misrouted to the 737-800 profile, causing incorrect FANS2 CDU detection, wrong passenger count, and wrong seat data.
</p>

<p>
	- GSX (all versions) Fix: Random crashes that could occur during boarding or deboarding, caused by stale references to ground service vehicle animations.
</p>

<p>
	- GSX P3D Fix: Crash in pushback detach phase when SimConnect returns incomplete data for altitude-above-ground.'
</p>

	Hello ,
</p>

<p>
	Over the last few days I've been looking for alternatives to FSLTL and his Live Injection .
</p>

<p>
	Which Solutions i find out are, <br />
	<br />
	1. Use FS2024 Online AI Traffic together with the FSLTL Models <br />
	Good : Live Traffic with very professional FSLTL Aircraft Models and a good fitting with the FS2024 own ATC . <br />
	Bad : The Live Traffic Moving and Time Table is not very good . Wrong Parking Positions / Taxiing / Pushback .<br />
	To Pay : Nothing <br />
	<br />
	2. BeyondATC with FSLTL Models <br />
	Good : Live Traffic Injection with FSLTL Models together with much more professional BeyondATC Voices as FS2024 .<br />
	Bad : Nor really "Live" Traffic as PSXT .  The BeyondATC engine pulls historical data, rather than live data, from FlightRadar24, creating a "living airspace" based on a historical week.<br />
	To Pay : One time  Pay  Subscription  Basic Pack 30$<br />
	<br />
	3. PSXT together with FSLTL Plane Models <br />
	Good : Perfect , real FR24 Live Traffic in combination with FSLTL Models in FS2024
</p>

<p>
	Bad : No Connection to the FS2024 ATC Controller because PSXT has its own Engine . You need additionally BeyondATC or SayIntensions for ATC Voices . <br />
	To Pay :  PSXT as its own dont inject the FR24 Live Traffic , you have to pay for Live Traffic 12 $<br />
	To Pay : For the ATC Program , BeyondATC 30$ One Time . or SayIntensions 16$ per Month. <br />
	<br />
	4. PSXT together with FSLTL and BeyondATC or SayIntensions . <br />
	Good : perfect "Real" FR24 Live Traffic with perfect fitting ATC Controller . <br />
	Bad : you have to Pay for Injection via Live Traffic 12$ per Month + 16$ per Month with SayIntensions or one tome 30$ with beyondATC. <br />
	<br />
	<br />
	Maybe a good Option was to combine PSXT ( Live Traffic ) together with the FSLTL Models and the BeyonATC Voices . <br />
	You have to pay only one Time 30$ for BeyondATC and monthly 12$ for Live Traffic. <br />
	<br />
	<br />
	What you think ? <br />

	Now that I have a high end CPU (9800X3D) and GPU (4070 S) I've found a whole new set of things to adjust.  I am on a 1 GB Xfinity connection and the system has 128GB of NVMe rolling cache.
</p>

<p>
	Sim is running at 75+ FPS with TLOD 400 / OLOD 200 / Buildings and Clouds at Ultra, everything else at High.  GPU is at 98% load but only 9GB of 12GB GPU memory is in use.  CPU is about 45% busy and only 28 GB of 64 GB system memory is committed.
</p>

<p>
	Flying at 4,000' AGL in Idaho mountains I see a lot of scenery popping when I look out the side windows or switch to external camera.  Some of that scenery that pops into place is within a couple miles of the plane as it flies.
</p>

<p>
	Is there anything I can do to eliminate or reduce the scenery popping into place?

	Hi,

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Night lights (runway, taxiway and city) look too large and unrealistic, with a strong glow/halo effect.
</p>

<p>
	Is this normal in MSFS 2024 or is there any fix, mod or setting to reduce the light size/bloom?

	Thanks.

	Looks like there won't be any live weather injection into the sim until Meteoblue is back online.  This only affects those that use default weather.  I noticed the website wasn't pulling down any live weather earlier but hoped it didn't affect what the sim could pull down. Looks like it did. Hope the outage doesn't last too long.

	I came back to Beyond ATC after not using it for a long time and thought I should give the latest update a go. My thoughts:<br />
	- vectors to approach are non existent. I was doing an approach into EGLL. It vectored me to 09L via the OCK transition, then nothing.<br />
	- 10 miles from TOD I requested descent (the frequency was busy). I was 20 miles past the TOD before it acknowledged and issued me descent clearance (I had to use speedbrakes all the way down).<br />
	- there's still not much visual traffic, despite me having airports approach and departing on 6 and en route on 8.<br />
	<br />
	Back to PXPT until this improves.

	Following the conversation with <a contenteditable="false" data-ipshover="" data-ipshover-target="https://dev.avsim.com/profile/483677-mrbitstflyer/?do=hovercard" data-mentionid="483677" href="https://dev.avsim.com/profile/483677-mrbitstflyer/" rel="">@MrBitstFlyer</a> on the topic of field of view (FoV) in another unrelated thread, I was asked to start a separate thread to share my method for setting up FoV in MSFS.
</p>

<p>
	While it may not be as important as in racing sims, I think that using a more realistic FoV is a real benefit for flight sims as well. With the right FoV, you get the most correct sense of speed, object size, distance judgement and no perspective distortion. Which not only helps when landing, but it improves the overall immersion by making everything looking more true to life.
</p>

<p>
	If you are used to the default FoV set by Asobo or other aircraft developers, you may find your realistic FoV difficult to use, especially on smaller screens. No matter, you don't have to use the most realistic setting to get a noticeable improvement over the default FoV setting. In the end, use what feels right to you. As long as it's at least somewhat close to your actual FoV, it's fine.
</p>

<p>
	<b>How to:</b>
</p>

<p>
	Asobo doesn't offer a most straightforward way to find and set the correct FoV in its camera settings, fortunately there are other tools.
</p>

<p>
	<b><span><span>1)<span>     </span></span></span></b><b>How to determine your realistic FoV</b>
</p>

<ul>
	<li>
		Open <a href="https://dinex86.github.io/FOV-Calculator/" rel="external nofollow">Modern FOV Calculator</a>
	</li>
	<li>
		Complete all fields in the “Input” section.
	</li>
	<li>
		Find the value of your <b>vertical</b> FoV (vFov) in the "Result" section.
	</li>
</ul>

<p>
	<b><span><span>2)<span>     </span></span></span></b><b>How to set the FoV for a specific aircraft</b>
</p>

<ul>
	<li>
		First, few rules here:
	</li>
	<li style="margin-left:40px;">
		To change the FoV, use "Zoom level" in Camera Panel (toolbar menu).
	</li>
	<li style="margin-left:40px;">
		<b>Zoom level by itself does mean nothing</b>, because its value is always relative. If two aircraft have different base FoV in the default camera views, the default Zoom level will always be the same - a value of 50, regardless of the actual FoV used for that camera view.
	</li>
	<li style="margin-left:40px;">
		After you change the Zoom level and save the corresponding camera view, the Zoom level will reset back to 50, but the FoV value will remain changed.<br />

	</li>
	<li>
		Load up an aircraft.<br />

	</li>
	<li>
		Turn on “Developer Mode” in Settings &gt;<span> <span lang="en-us" xml:lang="en-us">Advanced Options &gt; Developer Mode.</span></span><br />

	</li>
	<li>
		From the Developer Mode top menu, select Debug &gt; Aircraft &gt; Camera Blend.<br />

	</li>
	<li>
		Your screen will get overlaid with a jumble of information. Under "Camera Infos" overlay (at least in MSFS 2024) you can find the <b>vertical</b> “Fov” value of the <b>currently used camera view</b>. It is expressed in radians. If you multiply this value by cca 57.3, you get the vertical FoV of the currently used camera view in degrees.<br />

	</li>
	<li>
		Now, simply divide the realistic FoV value you found in the first step by 57,3 and increase (or decrease) the Zoom level in the Camera Panel until the “Fov” value displayed on screen matches.<br />

	</li>
	<li>
		If too close to windshield, translate your camera view eye point backwards (in MSFS 2024, Shift + WASD, use mouse freelook to rotate), to see the flight displays/gauges better. For fine tuning, lower the “Freelook Speed” slider.<br />

	</li>
	<li>
		<span style="font-size:11pt;">Use VFR Pilot View Save function (Ctrl+F10) to save your adjusted camera view. Or Ctrl+F9 for IFR Pilot, or Ctrl+F11 for Landing Pilot. The settings will be saved separately for each aircraft.</span>
	</li>
</ul>

	This belonged in the recent thread that was locked:  try default RealTime traffic.  I'm first trying this now at SKRG and I couldn't tell the difference between it and FSLTL.  I do use BATC but sometimes avoid using its injector and this seems to work fine as a sub for FSLTL.

	I have installed the add-on "Aerosoft tool simple traffic" for ai traffic in FS 2020 simulator. Ai traffic works fine at airports and in the air. However, I can't get ai planes to appear on the cockpit screen of FBW's Airbus 32 nx. The white text "TFC" does not appear at the bottom of the ND screen?

	I have the BS Caravan pro and I continue to get at startup 0 engine condition. I repair it through the EFB and no help. The engine ITT pegs out at red flag and stays pegged. And the throttle response is none, no movement of the torque gauge. I've tried everything from reinstalling to checking all bindings in the controller section of msfs2020. I have the analog caravan and everything works great. So far disappointed with the pro. because of the amount of time trying to figure this out.  I'm hoping to avoid a reinstall of my msfs2020 platform for this singular problem.

	I'm stuck in a cycle...when I start AIG Manager I get a dialog box that tells me it will be automatically updated. Click ok, I get a windows system box appear, it seems to do something but then I'm back to the AIG menu telling me to update, again. I've been through this four or five times
