  1. Please get yourself a copy of 20 year-old Flight Unlimited 3, play with it for twenty hours and get us everything it brought to our hobby into the new sim (weather, ATC, water physics etc.) 😉.

Has anyone successfully signed up for the insider program? I have tried more than once submitting my e-mail address. It says to check for an e-mail to confirm but I never get anything.

Note this is purely speculation based on joining the dots from watching the trailer and observing the industry over the past few years. How did Microsoft stun the world with this trailer? Here's how: 1. License the FSX code to Dovetail Games (DTG). Add a clause that anything DTG adds to the code becomes Microsoft IP when the license is ended 2. DTG converts FSX to 64-bit, licenses TrueSky (https://simul.co/truesky-pro/ - note Microsoft Games Studios are listed as a user) and adds PBR. Flight Sim World (FSW) is released. FSW fails to sell enough copies, so DTG shuts the project down and spends the last year negotiating terms with MS on giving back their enha…

  7. As we have read MS mentioned working with the FS community and I was just wondering historically in past versions of FS which developers, current or no longer working have been involved before the product's release. On my limited knowledge, if an SDK is freely available and commercial arrangements are mutually satisfactory then any developer should be happy to have a new FS product to market into.

I remember using the first version of Flight Simulator in the early 1980s ... which had a role in me later becoming a commercial pilot. I have high hopes for this next version, the graphics are absolutely unbelievable. But I know graphics alone don't make the simulator, at best they make a decent game. I hope Microsoft is keeping us "hard core" PC simulator enthusiasts in mind here, but here's to hoping! San Francisco

  10. https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2019-06-10-the-big-xbox-interview-scarlett-cross-gen-halo-infinite-and-the-lack-of-fable “We decided it would be a good statement to have Flight Simulator in there because it's a game with deep connections to Microsoft's roots - the first game we ever published - it makes a statement. But you could say it's a PC thing, the folks who get into them often buy specialised joysticks, throttles, multi-monitor setups. They're some of the most passionate about building rigs. But at the same time, we're also going to bring that game to Xbox consoles. Why? Because people want to play it on Xbox and we'll figure out a way to make it work. So, …

  12. Don't normally post here on AVSIM but as a courtesy to you guys I think posting the following bit of information found by a Reddit user is important, take it as you will. Note: these pages have since been pulled down by Microsoft but I confirmed that both these pages existed during a Google Search I performed a couple of days ago (and the search cache on Google has since expired).

  13. As a disclaimer, I'm not familiar with the L.A. area, and I'm certainly no expert, just an avid flight sim enthusiast. That said, one thing that I would like to see in the new flight simulator is updated navigational data and all it entails, including waypoints, VOR stations, beacons, ILS, etc. So I took the liberty of comparing one of the screenshots for the upcoming sim and recognized KLAX on the navigation map of the airplane, and compared it to the same area in the Navigraph desktop charts program (current AIRAC): As I said, I'm no expert but you can see a few common waypoints, and it seems to me that the new sim shows quite a few more waypoints co…

  14. Just a quick post to suggest the Mods use something other than the failed MS Flight logo for the New Microsoft Flight Simulator Forum. Of course we don't know what the final product will be, but it would be lunacy if MS released MS Flight again. Just sayin'. 😉 Attached is a screen capture from their marketing video, if you'd like.

  15. Indeed exciting news to me. As a passionated Simmer I would love to see the "next level" gen of simming. As I watched the new Trailer I rememberd there was some equilty to the TrueSky Landscape Trailer (Cloud Volume, Colouring, Sky Coloring, Landscape, expecially the Mountains (Compare them by watching them simultaniuously, especially the "mountain-part in both videos on exactly 0:17 Seconds") Just watch it lets share opinions on that one. Also they do have a already existing coorperation together. Cheers, Marcus

Hi chaps, I've watched the trailer quite a few times now - what a great show! - and taken some screencaps for further asessmnent. It seems that there's a very good range of default aircraft. Here's the aircraft that I think we can see, based on my observations and the comments of others elsewhere on the web: Diamond DA-62 (is that shot in the hangar in-game??). Airbus A320 Neo - in cockpit shots, and pushback at LAX, takeoff and landing. I'm thinking all the other twin-engine jets parked at LAX are also A320s? It seems that MSFS really likes this plane, or they know that we want a jet! TBM 930 - beautiful shot from the front, that's the 2nd …

So Microsoft officially announced their new Flight Simulator plans due to be released sometime in 2020 (at least that;s the plan) I saw the announcement and then get this. It will be using Satellite data and Azure AI, I work a lot with Azure Ai so I do know about it and can be good for this type of approach. i do not use P3D and wasn't going to get it until sometime next year (2020) when i buy my new (latest and greatest) rig. As of now i think i am going to wait and see what it looks like since I am not really in a hurry to get P3D, I am still really enjoying my FSX with all add-ons. As you know these new apps never come out on time😊, but we'll see and i personally…
