Virtual Reality (VR) Hardware and Games

P3D v6 is locking up as soon as a plane starts down the runway when I have Varjo Base software installed, even if I am not using VR and don't have the app open. Anyone have a possible reason for this or have had a similar issue?

Hello, I just bought some PICO 3 VR glasses and I can't interact with the controls, I connect fine, I can touch the airplane levers with the controls (it looks green) but nothing appears on the controls. At first in the configuration menu I get the message: Missing essential VR. thanks for the help

I currently have a poorly Oculus Quest 2 and to be honest, I've not been to impressed by it using MSFS. I'm currently looking into either a Reverb G2 or a HTC Vive, and I'd like some advice into which one is best to run on a RTX 3060. Thank you in advance. Rich

Hi, My Reverb G2 has been a joy in P3D v5.4 until now. I've just carried out a clean uninstall/re-install of the sim. Now, when I go into VR, and move the cursor, I'm seriously dismayed. The view, both on monitor and in the headset is instantly covered by a pale pink fog, and the cursor itself is the normal one, not the white disk I was accustomed to. The Reverb has remained plugged in throughout the P3D change. I feel the cursor change must be implicated, but don't know how to get the round VR cursor restored. Regards, Jim

In case anyone is tempted, the Aero now has permanent price reduction to 990€, about half the price I paid last year. You need a Steam VR base station, currently around £170 UK. One is fine, it's all I've got, as you're seated, it doesn't need to triangulate your position. Expect some duty might be payable in the UK too, mine was shipped from Ireland. But still a big saving. VR Sim Guy's a big fan, still says it's the best VR headset around, even over the Pimax Crystal. Varjo's new lower pricing could be a headache for high end headset producers? I have RTX 4060 ti and I have had trouble with msfs occulus vr, I have i7, the sim just won't run it's like I don't have the min. spec it just freezes. I can't get the TBM off the runway. before I purchased the 4060 I had 1080 and it was ok but grainy, I have lowered the settings, maybe i have not lowered enough, if I run outside VR I can get up to 60-70 fps, I should mention that iRacing in VR is good, also I call myself upgrading and I purchased DPVR E4 and I had the same results, I plan on sending back. I was trying to upgrade. so can anyone help out with this problem, should just lower all the settings and start from there, or is it the card?

Hallo there. i find that my reverb g2 freaks out and goes white once in a while. when i put it down and put it back on, i'm outside the plane and it flickers really bad. just downloaded new nvidia driver with DDU, is there not a way to get the reverb g2 to work properly.thanks for all the help.

How well does a Vr work with a person without binocular vision?

I try to use my new HP Reverb G2 with my flight sims among which one is P3D 5.1. VR works the worst in P3D. I have two show breaking issues 1) On many airports when going to VR I find my plane placed above the runway. It seem to affect random airports (for example 3W5 1S2) and nothing seem to help like Reset seated position or restore point of origin. I might point out that I use Orbx scenery. But the same flight shows the plane correctly placed on the runway when not in VR mode. 2) Severe shimmering. Like the other sims the world seem more fussy than on a monitor. But in P3D there is also a shimmering both on instruments and the outside world. Do any one r…

Having installed the latest updates on my newly updated computer, I recently found multiple apps/games freezing with a rotating hourglass followed by a crash to desktop, alwys in the same place in the affected titles. This occurred in exactly the same way on both wired and wireless connections, and cased severe dropouts and freezing /black flashing screens in MSFS. I learned to fly for real in the early 2000's but had to stop just before I did my final navigation and practical tests as the money ran out. Recently bought a PICO 4 and managed to get it to work ok on BMS, DCS and IL2 but unfortunately not having much success with MSFS. I’m using Virtual Desktop and everything seems ok with the streaming side of things, SteamVR starts up ok and i have SteamVR set as the OpenXR runtime. When i start MSFS, SteamVR says that it is connecting to the game and recognises that MSFS is running. In VD i can view MSFS and click and operate everything ok… I am not seeing the “double” vision screen and when i try and enter into VR mode with ctrl+tab … nothing happens. I have just started using a Pimax VR unit and have flown in X-Plane and I would now like to try it in MSFS. In order for MSFS to be used the game must be imported into the PiTool Games menu. The user must also select the Pimax Experience Home in the PiTool Settings menu. There is a small problem, the MSFS.exe cannot be imported as the user does not have permission to do so. There is a workaround in the form of creating a .bat file which is explained below. Hello Reverb owner, i just ordered the Reverb G2 which is on sale at the HP Canada website at the moment! I have a little question, is it possible to wear headphones with the built-in speakers of the Reverb folded upward… or by any other way? I read that the built-in speakers are pretty good but i doubt that it is a better audio experience than with my wired Arctis Nova Pro, another reason that i want to use my headphone instead of the built-in is that i use Vatsim and i need to hear and to be heard clearly! I was setting up my new Reverb G2 and the WMR setup failed with Error 1-4 (Device Cable Not Connected.) Microsoft’s AI bot ‘Emmanuel’ was no help at all. I called HP and the tech I spoke to said the issue was the 3090 Ti and WMR not playing nice. I hopped over to the nVidia forum, and sure enough, lots of people having the same problem, which seems confined to the 3090 Ti. The regular 3090 doesn’t seem to have this issue. He said it had to do with the Ti being a hybrid of the GeForce and the Quadro. Something something about the card doing some encoding that WMR can’t handle. Very frustrating.
