Problem with resizing images from FSLTL for FPS saving
Wish there was a video on how to use this. There are some gray areas that need more explanation. Command lines can be tricky and if your not used to using them, daunting.

Problem with resizing images from FSLTL for FPS saving
So I am doing these one at a time using paint.net for resize - when saving there is a box to check called "generate mipmaps" should I check it ?

Problem with resizing images from FSLTL for FPS saving
Interesting, so instead of after selecting the optimizer in the cmd line I try to open it with the texture optimizer exe but instead open it with a cmd ?

Problem with resizing images from FSLTL for FPS saving
Not working, installed texture optimizer twice now and both times when I click on the exe a small window opens but immediately closes. Not sure why but hope there is a fix for this. Windows 10 with latest update.

What is wrong with this texture?
Normal map is the main map texture in the DXTbmp window. So your saying the two alphas from the forward section and the aft section are the same shade of gray or dark gray?

What is wrong with this texture?
Man Photobucket is an increadible mess these days. You pic shows a darker aft section and this is because the alpha is off or the norm is off or different from the forward section. Use DXTbmp and pull the forward fuse norm texture into your paint program as well as the alpha. Then keeping those two textures open again use DXTbmp and pull the rear or aft section texture and alpha into your paint program. Compare the forward and aft norms and alphas to see if one is darker or lighter than the other. If there is a difference you will have to lighten or darken either the aft norm texture or alpha to match the forward ones. Even just a little difference in the alphas can make a big difference in the sim. The darker alphas usually are set to add gloss or shine to the norm and these all must be uniform for all exterior textures, fuse, wings, tail and so on. Same with the norms, particularly for a segmented fuse. I know when I did the JF Connie there were, I think, seven fuse sections and keeping them all exactly the same tonality and intensity wise was fun. Then we throw in the spec map and those must also match across the board.

P3D 3.3 looking great with the newest PTA
No HDR for me. When painting virtual aircraft you need accurate color and with HDR colors are skewed and far from what you intend. PTA is interesting and fun to play with though.

P3D 3.3 looking great with the newest PTA
How do you set default presets, do you just check all the boxes?

The Most Phenomenal FlightSim Experience Ever! - Colonel Champagne F-16 Hero of 9/11
A long time ago back in the day I was flying Janes WWII fighters. I also had a website called rcwarbirds.com and on this site I had advisors so scale rc flyers could ask questions and get advice. One such advisor was Col Monroe Williams. Col Williams flew p-47's and p-51's from England during the big one and later flew jets and many other aircraft. Col Williams also flew Jane's WWII fighters and when I flew against him online he whipped my a** every time, we also flew against some real German WWII pilots. It was an amazing time and situation flying against and with these real WWII fighter pilots online.

ASN16 no clouds?
warbirds replied to warbirds's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumIt is the dynamic weather option that is not working. If I just select a theme,, say big fluffy cloud theme, it works and I have the correct clouds and coverage that I see out side today. But if I then select dynamic it goes back to foggy and high thin clouds. With just cloud theme "Discovery" loaded I get clouds.

ASN16 no clouds?
warbirds replied to warbirds's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumHave deleted shaders, both are version 6066, tried shutting down both and even rebooting but still no real clouds. Would this have something to do with the setting "disable default haze layer" in the ASN16 options? Here is a pic I just took of flying near Cedar Rapids. I am in CR now and looking out side I see tons of fluffy clouds and forecast is partly cloudy. Just upper level wispy clouds and fog, smog or something near ground.

ASN16 no clouds?
Got ASN16 and ASCA and I am not getting any large fluffy clouds, just high scattered wispy clouds. I also do not get clouds when in rain, sometimes a full fog overcast look but no clouds. I am not sure what I am doing wrong here. I have cloud layers set at 5 and full density set in P3D and have the HD clouds installed. Here are a couple of screen shots to show rain without clouds or overcast, just blue sky. Both ASN16 and ASCA are action and ASCA is set to full dynamics. Rain coming down forward view Rain coming down looking straight up into the clear blue sky view Hard to see rain in these small compressed shots so click on photos for larger detailed image.

Short flights, GTN 750: what plane is realistic?
Thanks, the Delta is my favorite also. GTN 750 works well as a popup in that bird and all you have to do is pop it up and hit Ctrl+N on the keyboard and it should take to a great approach.
