Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

the Big Apple. I never imagined New York the way I am experiencing it now while flying over Manhatten with MSFS.

I’m flying around the KORS are in the SR22 and noticed that with Traffic nameplates on I I’m getting around 45fps and with them turned off I am getting 60-65fps. Maybe a false positive but I thought it was interesting nonetheless (I did read somewhere in here that the ATC window can generate I correct FPS readings so maybe this is the same thing?). FPS reading is with the steam FPS counter in the upper right hand corner.

Hi guys, I seem to be having an issue I can't find the answer to. When I click the Fly button, nothing happens. It makes the click sound but doesn't load the flight. And I have a departure airport selected. Any ideas?/ Thank You

Hi everyone, For people coming from P3D who have their processor with HT disabled. Do you think if I enable HT on MSFS I will have a lot more FPS? I would like to have your opinion on it, I have an i9 9900K OC 5Ghz Manuel

Just curious how much of an area can you store? Is it scalable for size? Say I wanted to store LOWI and 150km in every direction....or is it smaller? Those who have the game, please report back! Just trying to figure out which area I want to store and how big it will be.

I am no expert on aeronautical engineering, but shouldn't a prop feather after the mixture is cut off, the turbojet rolls back, the rpm decreases below operating range and the RPM lever is moved to feather? It is frustrating to try an use msfs as a learning tool, only to have to second guess the physics and system functionality. Between engine performance and avionics frustrations, I am beginning to despair! As a VFR toy it is clearly amazing. I don't for a moment begrudge them not having finished everything to a fine level of detail (early access being the new norm and also desired by the community) but those of us seeking to learn from the simulator should b…

This Sim has lots of potential and great for vfr, compared to xplane and p3d it seems to be dumbed down significantly supposedly to cater for the consoles so that's something hard core simmers will struggle with, definently plenty of life left in our other sims, I have not confirmed but some are saying it's not possibly to select between weights and atmospheric units such as millibars and hectopascals which would confirm the dumb down factor lol, having said that I love the Sim and will enjoy flying if I can ever get my keyboard to work in the actual Sim environment

I remember FSX and P3D, pressing the v key I think will take a screenshot and automatically save it to your Documents folder inside a folder called MFS or P3D. I can't seem to find a way to do it in the new sim. Any ideas?

When I try to buy a copy of FS2020 at the Microsoft site, it says I am not allowed to download because I have not followed Microsoft rules. I do not have a MS account other than a genuine copy of Win 10 Pro which is up to date. They have allowed me to download FREE apps from their store without problems. Now that I am willing to buy software from them I cannot even complete a sign in to the site. What is the secret to purchase the new sim? Can you buy a hard copy other than a CD or DVD? Terry

Hi everyone, After a few hours on Flight Simulator, here is a wish list to I will update from time to time. If you guys from Asobo are around .... Installation 1/ it would be great that only a limited zone is donwloaded at installation, with one single plane, so that you could try flying pretty quickly after download (the rest of the packages being donwloaded in the background) Map 1/ I have not found any way to click on a facility on the map to have more details (frequencies, runways etc) 2/ Map should be capable of moving the plane quickly any where in the world 3/ Dezoom is too limited Planes 1/ why isn't possible to pick a …

I enrolled in Game Pass to get a quick, inexpensive ($1) look at how my rig would handle Flight Sim. I was never able to figure out how to download the sim. Help was no help. Finally gave up and uninstalled Game Pass. Anyone have better luck?

Hey guys! I downloaded FS2020 premium deluxe edition from the Microsoft Store. I know that you have to open it to download the rest of it, but I can’t for some reason. After launching the game, even in administrator mode, I get the message “flightsimulator.exe not found” or something like that. Did I do something incorrectly? Thanks, Bill Johnston

Greetings all, Like many I am super pumped for the Aug release of MS Flight Sim 2020. I am running an older i7 2600k (quad core @ 3.4ghz), 8gb ram, gtx 1060 ti with 1 x ssd for OS and 4 x ssd in raid stripe for game data. I am wondering if doubling the ram to 16gb and adding another 1060 gtx ti in sli will improve overall system performance? What do folks think? I really dont want to buy a new sys right now as Intel PCIe v4 is set to be released in the near future. While I understand AMD may have pci4, I however am an Intel die hard. Looking for some thoughts and opinions on above as I would love to experience this sim in all of it's glory. …

I bought a 1TB SSD external hard drive and installed the flight simulator on it. It's on there because when I go into Window's Explorer it shows I now have roughly 887GB left on that drive. It's on my E drive by the way. Anyway when I go into Window's Explorer though, it doesn't show much in the E drive as far as files and folders. I've attached a jpg of what's on the E drive, there's not really a lot in those folders that it shows. Where did this thing install? I purchased it from the Microsoft Store by the way. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Trying to figure out how to set my Satek throttle so I have engine 1 and 2 throttles.

Hi all, I need a bit of steer - I am unfamiliar with most of the GARMIN avionics in the aircraft included with the Sim. I have been playing with them all day, but some seem... well, broken! Is it me misunderstanding how they work, or are they buggy? For example, I can fly an ILS in the Daher by tuning the ILS freq on the Nav1/2 using Garmin, but when I try to set a Nav freq in the King Air, it doesn't allow me to. The King Air also seems to be inconsistent in navigating between functional pages in general. Also, when I select an RNav or ILS approach on the world map, the ATC often gives up on suitable vectors after the last waypoint. There doesn't appe…

Anyway to get TrackIR to work with FS2020?

There is 1 airport which I try to load and got Crash To Desktop it is BIKF. Can somebody try to load this airport and confirm it? It's the only one on my computer as trying each time different airport, also if you can check if in LEBL you have giant building after take off up to the sky.

I have no doubts this is a great simulator but not for probably another 6-12 months. Just like all the previous versions of MSFS it will take several service packs before everything good. The out of the box scenery is stunning. The UI and controller setup is awful. Probably the worst I have seen in my 35 years of flight simulator.

I have a nvidia RTX 2080 ti and all settings either on high or ultra. Still the result is disappointing. Is this a problem on my PC or does someone else experience something like this? Graphics drivers are up to date! First example: Runway lights are more like white balls and are visible in same intensity all the time (even when much further away). You can also see the jaggy runway lines right and left of the aircrafts nose. And please look at that mountain front right (blurred textures af) Second pictuer: Beyond that ridiculous landscape (seems like Greenland wasn't prio 1) you can clearly see that the textures in the vicinty are quite fine but get pretty …

I know this Sim has a few bugs and things to get worked out but after doing a few circuits at KSNA , KLGA, and KXDR all I have to say is WOW!!!!!! FPS on my setup on all high settings at KSNA in varying weather was right around 35 to 40. Strange enough, same around KLGA. I don't have a gsync monitor but God it feels smooth. Trackir....wow!! Even with X-Plane ortho in same area....it doesn't even come close to MSFS. I was absolutely blown away. A note...when you load up....look in ALL directions for a bit. It takes all the data time to cache in before your frames get stable.

i have an issue with fs2020 which is that my joystick wont show up in fs2020. It can detect the input but the controls and everything else is blank. Does someone know how to fix this?

I have pre-purchased the MSFS2020 Premier edition. Now that is released (and already installed on my PC), when I open the app it opens in "XBOX" mode. In no longer own XBOX...want to play MSFS on my PC where it is installed. How do I get rid of the XBOX stuff? Thank you. Also, does anyone know where the MSFS2020 app is installed on my PC? Can't seem to find it's location. Considering uninstalling and reinstalling to get rid of XBOX prompting. Thank you, again. (Starting to regret already purchasing this sim.)
