Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I had pre-purchased the MSFS2020 Premier edition. Now that it is released (and already installed on my PC), when I open the app it opens in "XBOX" mode. I no longer own XBOX...want to play MSFS on my PC where it is installed. How do I get rid of the XBOX stuff...and play on my PC? Thank you.

Most of the time you have to clear the keybinding twice for it to stick. When you do it the first time it just comes back.

Has anyone been able to get MSFS configured with the TQ6+ (or any of the Virtual-Fly throttles) to properly deal with the reverse detent zone? The V-F website says that they have worked with MSFS for compatibility and that they are releasing new configuration software at launch, but there is nothing for MSFS in the Downloads location on the website (only P3D and X-Plane). I reached out to V-F directly but they don't seem to have a support site or forum that I can find? I am having to use my Thrustmaster HOTAS throttle right now, which is not going to work for multi-engine props with mixture and rpm.

Hi, Third time i install the sim today. I buy via Microsoft Store. I have Windows 10 2004 version updated, i have GPU updated, i run in admin mode, i turn off firewall, etc etc. After 95gb install, i click on "Continue", and the screens goes black, and "no response". I close the sim, restart pc or restart the sim, launch on admin mode and the image appear, but the blue bar block on that point. I try all solutions i saw on internet, all day, but the problem continues. What to do now? Request a refund? Wait? Thanks for help.

I guess I should have asked this before the storm, but I need to know whether my motherboard still has a slot for a new SSD. I have a 10 year old ASUS P67 deluxe that already has a HDD and SSD installed on. Can I attached a picture to these posts, as I made some pics of my motherboard? Next to the slot where my other SSD is connected, there seem to be 2 more similar slots, one blue and one white. Anyone know the difference and whether these are the right slots (it says SATA 6G next to them)? Second, there are still power plugs running from the power supply. Hi gents, once installed, my msfs2020 works but with terrible problems: Note that Since more than 15 years, i used fsx, p3d, aerofly fs, so I got some experience. I got an I7 7700k, 32gb, gt1080 8mb with 2 ssd. 1. no buildings at all appears.... just vegetation... of course I’ve checked 10 times my settings.... but nothing appears... no photogramerty at all.... only sedona airport procedural scenery is there... in courchevel, there is no airport (and i know the place). 2. strangely, msfs2020 builds his cache ( i defined this cache at 80gb) 3. even stranger: i can only fly lessons and challenges, but if i choose any airport in free flight mo…

Perhaps it is just my setup, maybe need to fine tune a bit more, but the smaller planes seem to fly erratic even with 0 mph winds and setting the trims. Flying in clear weather with no wind feels about like flying through a turbulent cloud. Sometimes when I get high enough and within an exact speed range, I notice the turbulence mostly subsides (at least in some places), but it's still weird. I guess that could be attributed to thermals, but I've flown in smallish planes before and they are not quite that twitchy as in this game. Hi, Let me start with the fact that I am blown away by the technological masterpiece that MSFS is. My small home grass strip in Sweden looks just as it should with the surrounding landscape and all. Landing the first time I could use the roads / houses as IRL to know where to start turning in for the final... And super smooth FPS at 1440p with an old 4790k with 16Gb Ram and an RTX2080... In the beta's I was getting 99% but flying the 787 and 320 my GPU (2080) is maxing out at 50%. CPU is fine because it's running at 30%. Anyone else experience this?

Hi folks, hope someone can help me out here. I got everything downloaded this morning and the sim seemed to be working ok, however after work I turned on the computer to start up sim and give it a proper try out but it got stuck in a loop at the press any key point, figured that it was because I wasn’t logged into Xbox live beta app, even though I didn’t log out previously, but every time I try to sign in to Xbox live I get , We were unable to sign you in to Xbox live error. I’ve tried all solutions I can find, even reinstalled Xbox live beta, this obviously prevents me using the sim and the fact it was working earlier is so annoying, any help would be appreciated. I did my 1st release version flight from KRNO-KSFO with the TBM. ATC & Live Traffic. It was smooth & had no issues at all. Everything worked great! Thanks ASOBO!

Should this work on all User Accounts or just the account that installed it? There is no Menu Item for the FS on my sons user account? Alan

Hey all! I'm wondering if I'm missing some files or I'm just doing something wrong. I got the game via Xbox Game Pass. I started up the game for the first time today, and naturally picked the first tutorial mission to learn the controls etc. However, I'm not able to get past the very first objective. It tells me to open a box where I can see the basic camera controls, but it's just a big fat " ? " in the box, instead of anything useful. The "Objectives" box doesn't show anything useful either. None of the blue boxes/arrows I'm able to press changes anything. To my knowledge, everything else except for this has worked fine. Anyone got a solution? It loo…

Is there a way to set a view similar to the external forward view that shows the HUD but not the aircraft?

After much googling and random pushing of every key on the keyboard, I cannot work out what key is the NUM DEL key. CTRL - NUM DEL releases the parking brake ... can anyone tell me what key that is? Edited by mod to remove expletive in topic title.

I flew MSFS for almost 1/2 hour with no stutters...making adjustment here and there... Running at 1080p (17, 32G RAM GTX 1080) with opitons high / Ultra with (mainly shadows turned down) default render scaling at 100. I was flying in Key West...on purpose to get away from many buildings etc...as I would later stress the settings in a heavier area. Finally, I decided to adjust render scaling to 200, things slowed and stutters were introduced....reset back to 100...still the same micro stutters. No matter what adjustments I made (low etc), these micro-stutters remained, and this all started when adjusting render scaling. Restarting the sim did not h…

I’ve installed the 90GB and a few other updates. But now it’s stuck on the blue bar loading screen. It’s like it wants to update instead of just launching the game. Anyone know a fix ?

Today it was the perfect day to test live weather in my area in the sim: Broken clouds with a cold front which brought the temperature from 30°C to 18°C in minutes, with a couple of thunderstorms, very fast moving and spotted so you had sun and rain then strong wind then sun again in a matter of seconds or 100 meters. Everything was perfectly represented in the simulator, I'm impressed.

The game is loading via my HDD even though i have installed the game on my H drive (SSD) and caching to my H drive it makes no sense??? its barely playable and i dont understand.

So often simmers and gamers whine, nitpick and complain...well I just wanted to say thank you for this amazing work of software art....it's what I and hopefully so many other flightsimmers have been waiting for!. Everything works just as it should...job well done! Thank you! Larry Lacina

Is there possibly a setting I'm missing? I loaded into an airport in Maine that is surrounded by rain storms real-world. In sim it was clear, cloudless. I do have live weather turned on, no data cap.
