Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Dear All, I tried to come back to flight simming with the release of MSFS 2020. I was trying the flight sim, making a flight from my home airport WIII. When taxying from Terminal 3 to the active runway, I encountered a road in the middle of a taxy way. In real live, at that location, the taxy way straddles accros the freeway connecting the airport to the city. I tried to copy paste a screen capture but I cannot do that. How do you attach a picture to post? Does anybody also find some peculiarities like this one? Thanks and regards

Hi, is anyone getting through the first flight training. I get the task to look out the window. which I do... that objective turns green... then there is just a dot in the objectives window and the instructor keeps flying around for ages....

Can someone tell me how much space Is required for installation of standard edition? I mean, it's a 90gig download, but Is gonna become more "fat" After installation? Do i really Need 150 free gigs as per minimum requirements? Also, anyone here with only 8gig of RAM?i'm going to install it in my notebook Just for scenery developement, therefore performance Is not crucial Thanks in advance

Installing via Steam. I set up an SSD for Steam and installed the initial DL to the appropriate folder, but then the main DL was pointed at the appdata folder on C:, I was unsure if this was a necessary requirement for the proper functioning of the sim and figured the way FSX scattered files all over the place I had better leave the install path as default, but my C drive is a HDD and I totally did not want most of the sim running from there, but when I tried to stop, uninstall and restart it would not let me change the path, even though the browse option opened up explorer, no folder could be selected. There's an option for HDR10 but it's always set to on and you can't change it. I have a 4K TV that supports HDR. Does this mean I need to set windows to HDR mode before launching the sim?

It’s a long time Since I have been in flight simming but the New MSFS has tempted me back! From my time working with Rob Young and setting up RealAir Simulations It was a nightmare on the earlier versions to get realistic handling ! I have high hopes for this new sim as well as for the dynamics of the air mass ! I hope not all Candy which is obviously brilliant but the air and aircraft have to be alive and dynamic! Hi Is there a quicker way of starting the sim rather than having to open the Microsoft Store everytime. Hoping to add an icon to the desktop but that just opens Microsoft store again. Thanks

If you post performance figures including CPU, GPU and system RAM it’s extremely important you also include screen resolution. Failing to do so makes your numbers meaningless.

I had to leave the pc for a bit on my way to Innsbruck, and I pressed pause break button. When I came back and unpaused it, the plane did a barrel roll and plummeted nose down, inverted whenever I tried to reengage the AP. I went back to main menu and started another flight, and the AP was fooked up from the get go. The moment I hit the AP, the plane rolled over, nose down. I was too low to recover 😛

Does anyone know how to locate the actual exe in order to change the settings in NVIDIA CONTROL PANEL?

Hi, I cannot configure the old PAN view cocpit asign to the hatch switch of joystick. Whats the name of using the hatch to move your eye around the cockpit? I must asign it manually cause the sim recognize my joystick as generic (thou its a Microsoft Sidewinder II FF) Plus many keyboard buttons are different from fsx p3d, i saw a post with a comparison of how buttons were on fsx and how they are on ms2020 can someone post it?

Is this the not the most irritating feature?It takes forever to set up. I put a 200 GB level on another drive. I thought,after waiting an eternity that it finally set up. When I exited the sim a while later I came back only to find that yes it has been pointed to that other drive but no cache amount noted. So I re-entered the amount and then spent 20 minutes waiting again. Anybody having issues with this?

Hi I have downloaded and installed Flight Simulator (Disk Version) to the default location but for some reason I do not have a Flight Simulator Icon on my desktop Any ideas? Paul

First off, as expected, after my first couple flights this is clearly a game-changer. It's not perfect, but what's here is evolutionary and simply incredible. Asobo and MS should be quite proud of the work done here. Amazing. That said, here are the thing that occur to me so far: 1. No Replay feature. That's a bit of a shock. It's something a number of us use quite a bit to analyze our flights, landings, etc. Being able to see our landing from all angles is rather helpful in learning and in enjoyment. 2. I could have sworn I saw waves crashing in various videos. Not sure if that's accurate now as the waves around Atlantic City showed up as crests that never move…

Does anybody know when PMDG are coming to MSFS2020? Also, do you think they will sell the 737, 777, and 747?

Reading all the comments over there....noticed too many people with i3/i5 cpu's, 4-8gb ram, GTX 9series and low end 10series cards buying FS2020. The kids over at Steam are in for a big shock next week. I feel bad for devs that receive negative reviews from ppl buying new AAA 2020 software with 5-10yr old computers.......maybe i'm wrong and FS2020 will run 1 day on the ipad or a toaster😆😁

Who said MSFS won't need any tweak out of the box?? MSFS.cfg is much more complex than any other simulator's config file. I live in Australia and got a $1 game pass to try out MSFS and started downloading it as soon as hit 12am here and left the pc on whole night to download. I wake up around 9 and it has only downloaded 3gb and there’s an error code anyways I start download again and it would constantly freeze and I had to pause and restart and finally it downloaded I think around maybe 30gb and it got stuck again. i restarted it and this time it allows me to enter the game menu but won’t let me fly because obviously it didn’t download the whole game so my question is has anyone experienced this and how do I download the whole game instead of the actual game launching? …

Hi I know this has been kind of covered but the answer seems a bit ambiguous. Am I able to complete the download in sections? And then pause, close the client and then restart later without losing any content? I think it would be best for me to download in 3 or 4 chunks if possible, given that I need to use my broadband for work, video conferences and a bit of Netflix in the evening over the next few days! Hello everyone Has anyone had any joy installing the Saitek panels and Flight Instrument Panels (FIPS) into the Sim yet? Is it a case of plugging them in before starting Flight Simulator and then the sim recognising them on start up and then assigning buttons and switches? Thanks in advance Paul
