Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I was wondering if I could start the download here on the East Coast at Midnight, and go to bed! Are there issues and questions along the way that makes it necessary to be at your computer for the entire download? Is the download reliable enough that once you get it started, it is self-sustaining and continues until it is finished? What has your experience been with this large download? Also, if I decide to just download it tomorrow morning, is it possible to let it download in the background while you still use your computer for other things? I would like to have a flawless download experience, obviously, but I'm interested in the amount of intervention ne…

Despite the general consensus, 11pm, GMT is a no-go for downloading. Can’t wait up for another hour I’m knackered.

Im in los angeles CA just over 100mb/s speed not playing FS20 yet but was wondering for those who already are flying could you please share your internet speed/performance just so we know what to expect ????

Did any one here, who now has the simulator, do pre purchase? I am curious to know if you had to get huge download, or were you able to just click the exe and start the sim? Mine says its installed but not yet released. Thanks.

Hi. Let me get this straight first of all. The new sim is really good. Perfect? No. However, I always find going to the island of Madeira in any sim is a true test. Seems to bring out the warts in the sims. There is no change here. Go fly around and over Madeira, and you will see the limitations of photo scenery, and you will also see the open market it creates for 3rd party developers to hand craft entire areas.

I am on a limited bandwidth and decided to buy the Aerosoft boxed version. Is it going to work on US computers? And why is there no boxed version being sold at Best Buy, Wal-Mart, GameStop, etc?

Given how incredible the world looks In this sim, I plan to go on an epic tour of my homeland. it is my intention to set off from my nearest airport, Wolverhampton, and head through Wales and onto the coast. Then I plan to follow the coastline and do a complete circuit of Britain, hopping from airfield to airfield. I also intend to pop across to each and every island that has an airfield or landing strip. I don’t know how many sessions, or days, this will take me in a little Cessna, but I cannot wait. Hello all, This is going to sound strange, but I am having trouble finding a link to my pre-ordered premium deluxe download. At this time all I can find are links to buy the programme again ie "add to cart". I cannot find any link to the actual download. Could somebody actually point me in the right direction please?. Just wandering where you can buy the FS2020 disk version in the US (I don't want to spend hours,if now days downloading it). Also, are FSX aircraft, scenery, and addons (like Active Sky) compatible with FS2020?

Watching so many of these preview videos, but also watching flight-sim videos for years now, the #1 thing I see people screw up is rotating way too late in GA aircraft. If your Vx is 62 knots in a 172, you shouldn't be holding it on the ground until 60 knots and then wondering why it's going all squirrelly on you. Was just watching a guy flying the Baron in MSFS and he didn't even rotate until 105 knots. That's Vy in that plane, with Vx only being 92 knots. He keeps the nose down and gets to 125 knots just 100 feet off the ground. Then he's wondering why the plane isn't climbing fast enough. I have been reading where people have preordered 2020 and it downloaded but will not launch until a designated time. I went to Microsoft’s website and preordered for pc but it didn’t download anything. It only said that I had successfully preordered. Will I have to go back and download at a specific time or did I somehow miss a step. Seems like a lot of folks will be trying to download around the same time. Understanding that this question is probably stupid to a lot of folks, I appreciate the response. I’m from the pre-computer generation and I’m trying my best. Thanks

So as I suggested the in the preload thread about bad download speeds. Mine just finished downloading the 91GB in 8 hours !!! The slowest download I have ever experienced so far on any game on release date. I have 100Gb internet at home. Imagine tomorrow when all of Europe will be downloading the game. I mostly got stable 45Mbps through out the download of the sim. So thanks Microsoft for the potato download speeds !

Just curious if aircraft from the Deluxe and Premium version are available individually in the marketplace and if so how much are they?

In Alpha everything worked just fine, but now in release version the sim stops rendering when my app sends SimConnect_TransmitClientEvent It stops the rendering for a second for every SimConnect_TransmitClientEvent Reading variables output works fine, it is only the inputs to sims that causes this problem. The FPS is superb now, but something seems to have gone wrong during the final performance trimming of the sim

Can't believe all this excitement has lead to this. Is anybody else facing this issue? Tried uninstalling, restarting and installing again, same issue PS - I have not changed or tried to change my region. Any help would be greatly appreciated
