Well, Orbx is quick off the mark with support for this sim. I'm very pleased to see that they decided to action the crossgrade discount that we requested. I was sad to see that disappear from P3D/X-plane/AeroflyFS2, so it's great to have it back. There are 3 airports, and prices (without discount) vary from $20.99 for London City Airport up to $26.99 for Orbx's rendition of LOWI (All prices in Kiribati dollars, a currency that is pegged to the AUD). There's also a feature pack for London available, which provides a range of objects that are missing from the default scenery. Personally, I'm going to try a couple out once I've flown default MSFS for a wh…

Am surprised none of the YouTubers have gone for a spin through the Mach Loop. In case you aren't aware, the Mach Loop is a region in North Wales where the RAF, not to mention aircraft from US bases in the UK, practice low level flying. I know a former RAF Harrier pilot who used to train pilots to fly the Mach Loop. He now flies the Voyager tanker. And then there's Death Valley's Rainbow Canyon. Be interesting to see how much fan can be extracted from the sim in that location. Anywhere else you guys fancy for an entertaining first flight?

I completed the pre order on the 16th July and downloaded a file which went to my Downloads folder in drive C:, as this is my Windows system drive I wanted it moved to my flight sim SSD drive. I saw Bert Pieke's excellent guide on how to move this file to a SSD drive, which I followed to the letter. I now have have three new folders on this drive Program Files, WindowsApps and WpSystem. I can't open WindowsApps because I don't have permission but I understand this is fairly normal, the other two folders I can open. I assumed this downloaded file was a MSFS installer I could use on release day (17th Aug) - where is the installer I should use to install MSFS on relea…

If you have windows 10 start the app maps in the search bar and choose in the app top right corner 3d cities... It's the easy way to find a few of photogrammetry cities in FS2020... Have fun.

Just wondered if ffb was supported? I have an old, MSFF2 kicking around which I thought might be worth digging out for ‘copter duties once one gets released. But only if ffb support is there, otherwise I’ll stick with the Warthog.

The FPS take a hit with the 787 + Heathrow it seems...this YT'r defintly needs to turn the settings down a notch. But otherwise it's a good video of a full flight...787 looks decent enough to keep me entertained until a QW787 comes out.

For every version of MSFS, there has always been certain settings we knew were particularly heavy on the system. In FSX it was moving vehicles and AI traffic, and also cloud draw distance. Bloom was known to create issues and sometimes shadows would cause stutters. In the latest P3Dv5 it's the fancy new clouds eating all the VRAM up. My question: What are the heavy settings in the new MFS20? I'm hoping my rig will run MFS at High settings on 1440p but I am aware of its age and think I will need to turn a couple of things down, so I need to know what will net me big gains relative to a small loss of visual fidelity. Well lads (and possibly a few girls) with the arrival of the new sim looming, just wondered which of the aircraft you will be flying first and why? Which aircraft will be the priority for you to step in first. Will it be a big jet, or something a bit more modest? 1. For me, without doubt, it will be the TBM 930. Probably because I've watched too many Steveo1Kinevo videos on YouTube. 2. Next up, as I'm a business jet fan, it has to be the Cessna Longitude. 3. Diamond DA62 next. 4. Then I'll probably give the Icon A5 a try.

I plan to get a large perhaps 8TB HDD to use solely to store the offline cache on for places I fly most often. Are any of you plan on doing something similar?

I'm hoping the latency and aircraft position updates are alot smoother in MFS than they were using P3D. I think the VATSIM position pings are once every three seconds? I am/was almost a 100% VATSIM user with P3D, but those jerky take-offs, springboard lift-offs and static nose wheels could sometimes spoil the immersion. Although this is probably more of a function of VATSIM/Vpilot than MFS, I hope these issues have been updated.

Hello everyone. I've watched many many MFS2020 videos online and I've notice low res terrain mesh resolution closer to mountain areas. If any one can confirm the zoom level of date being download for NA region ? I hope it's a settings issue and this can be increased to match level 18 I've used with x plane 11+ ortho. Also it might be hard for Microsoft to allow high zoom levels data to be downloaded for everyone, maybe they can create an option to download a higher quality terrain for certain areas to be downloaded and stored locally on our machines. Thanks Evan

Has anyone seen a video about viewing the weather? possibly in the world map or flight planner? I'm just wondering if we can view the weather radar and plan accordingly, especially before and during a long haul flight. Gotta dodge those pesky cumulonimbus that might pop up!

I usually fly in the US but I'm looking for some great smaller to medium size cities to fly to and from into some mountain and bush airports. Any areas for recommendation that will give some good scenery and performance. I want to stay away from huge cities.

Just wondering as I have taken the x-box $1 subscription trial option whether after a successful trial, when I go for the download version will I have to reinstall and more importantly will any settings, log book and other options be saved or lost. Has anyone got an answer to this? I’m guessing it will be a total fresh install, in which case I will try and find the files where this data is stored and try and save it first. Any thoughts?

On Tuesday, August 18th, the friendly skies will be filled with cries of anguish and anger, as eager simmers discover the reality of the sim they just bought. I suggest that everyone lower their expectation to avoid nervous breakdowns.
