I know it's pure speculation but with the amount of data everyone is going to be caching and streaming, just curious how reliable and big do you think the servers are? I know its storing 2 PB of data. Just curious how many servers and bandwidth. I think my biggest worry in the game is the servers being down constantly because of bandwith or other issues and not being able to enjoy the full game. I love the idea of caching great scenery but this model is brand new. With 1000s of people hitting the servers who knows?! Does anyone know any specifics?? How many KM does it cache in? I wonder if you can save large areas for offline so you can still enjoy your fave are…

Must say that I'm impressed with the default airports that I've seen so far. To me, they look a vast improvement on what was offered in FSX/P3D. I will also make much use of the default aircraft. They will be very useful for flight-seeing or sim-tourism. Exploring the world is going to take quite some time! I know that some people will not buy the sim until payware aircraft are available ("You won't catch me flying default airliners!...", "Default aircraft? - The machine that goes Ping has not been implemented...."), and there may be bugs aplenty, but I'm not going to let those things put me off. I'll be using Microsoft Flight Simulator each and every day from …

He is using it with his setup to fly MSFS and use his panels! If you are interested! It in the upper left corner of his video when he has it running! He says it works and shows us it does! I don't have panels but I know some people had questions about it working or not. Apparently it does work.

Like many i was disappointed to see London looking way off most other major cities & whilst i welcome the Orbx news, it just poses more questions then answers. Whilst the Orbx buildings will go a long way to improving London, from what I've seen it doesn't fix the very weird looking Thames, low-res satellite data & the majority of buildings in London still looking nowhere near how they should. Most auto-gen area's do a pretty good job but it's noticeably bad in London. Adding some notable buildings isn't going to suddenly make London look good & if anything the much higher quality Orbx buildings seem to stick out & make the bad look worse. London defi…

There definitely is a small enthusiast market right now where there are enough customers willing to pay 50-150 USD for aircraft both in P3D/FSX/XP and DCS to cover the costs of producing them. The buyers are people like us here in this forum. I guess the median customer here is 47 years old and works as an engineer. Maybe has a PPL and to some extent regret that we did not go for a professional pilot career when we were young. But we didn't and it's too late now 🙂 And to be honest it's nice to be home the same time every day... But the median customer does not have financial problems and our main problem is actually to hide our software and hardware purchases from our wiv…

Having read the reply from Mathijs Kok in relation to a question about the price of Brussels Airport in MFS it made me wonder if all 3rd party addons will only be available via the Microsoft Store. If that’s the case and I reiterate IF, then everything could become more expensive as an additional charge would almost certainly be levied. It might also explain how some of the running costs could be recouped. https://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/71084-brussels-international-preview/&do=findComment&comment=992795 This is just me making an educated guess how things could pan out.

I've been watching many of the newly released videos and of course I can only say 99% of the time MSFS looks stunning. We also can see it's not perfect yet. For one, the totally chaotic car traffic can be an immersion killer when flying low. But I guess things like this will be ironed out with updates. The thing that keeps nagging at me though is the (in my eyes) sometimes strange or unnatural plane behavior. I have this feeling the stronguest with the Airbus ... my brain keeps telling me something is off. It feels too light, as if it has no inertia. All planes give me that feel by the way ... even the 747, a heavy weight, does it really wiggle like that? There also…

The more screenshots we see if third party aircraft in the sim I see, a few things are clear. The visual quality of aircraft have been fantastic for a few years now, beating the quality of the default aircraft of the new sim in many respects. The issue is that we have been flying them around in an old generation world. Imagine flying an fsx aircraft around in fs2000 scenery.

I pre-ordered the Premium deluxe version. I got a receipt, but not a download or anything. Should i have gotten a downloader? I signed up at the forums, and they said I would get an e-mail to activate my account, but I haven't gotten anything. Are the forums maybe not open until release date?

Recommended speed is 50Mbps, do you get better scenery with less "morphing" if you exceed that spec?

Some 15 years ago I created a VATSIM account. Before that I had an IVAO experience, which I don't even recall. VATSIM use was short living mainly because I didn't have the time, nor the conditions at home to keep using online ATC for a long period of time. With the integration of MFS with VATSIM ( although the client isn't available yet, or I couldn't find it ? ) I decided to create a new VATSIM account, because I couldn't recover the old one. I hope to get into it after going through the manuals available at their site. Looks like a nice partnership initiative!

Although it's a huge world with plenty to see and so much great scenery to discover, there are so many videos coming out now prior to release, with surely many more after, that I've stopped watching them only because I want to discover and see as many of the cool sights for myself without a YouTuber spoiling the surprise. If any of you feel likewise, instead of posting a video or screenshot, maybe we could just have a thread here to post up some simple description with directions to an interesting find or scenic area that you feel is worth sharing with others. Just the basics, and leave it to the reader to take off and see for themselves. We could end up with quite…

Looking at the video from Singapore with the on screen CPU load displayed, I got really exited as I have never seen a game that spreads the load over the cores like that. That really feels next gen as much as the eye candy to me. Look in this thread: That makes my wait for the Zen 3 to get released feel even more like the correct choice. I still sit on an Intel 4790k that has served me well even though it's silly old 🙂 The reason it has survived that long is that I was initially waiting for Intel to get the 10nm act together. But amazingly they still have not even though the 14nm CPUs where supposed to die in 2016. And then AMD got the Zen 2 swooping in steali…

Just in case you haven't discovered "Squirrel" and his video series on You Tube, I watched my favorite one from him last night. I recently began watching his excellent reviews of the new simulator and he has now started a "Tutorial Series" for everyone to meet and become familiar with our new "home away from home" that begins Tuesday. Let's ALL show Squirrel how much we appreciate his hard work with some "LIKES" and "SUBSCRIBES"

Don’t you guys think there will be some surprise content on launch day? It seams to me that their strategy so far was to give new features in little increments with each new update while still holding something left to give. Making sure to give just enough to keep us wanting more. My own predictions would be the promised TTS capabilities in the ATC, and the last 40 of the promised 80 hi-def airports. What are yours?

Seems like AI-Traffic is still a performance killer. When disabling just the AI-Planes his fps double and this is the first time I've seen someone that turned traffic off for performance tests everyone else seemed to ignore the traffic slider completely. Cars and boat traffic had also a massive impact on performance in FSX and P3D so this could even further improve fps.
