Have been following the various posts regarding DL's from the Microsoft Store. Completed (I think) the download allowing it to install onto the C drive and then followed Bert's instructions regarding moving it to a dedicated SSD via the app function which it appears to have done, and also seems to have created the two folders containing the sub folders: AC, AppData, LocalCache, LocalState, RoamingState, Settings, Staging and TempState. I didn't however, see anywhere in the C drive where an MFS Folder was created before moving it to the SSD, would this be contained in the hidden WindowsApp folder that so many people have commented on? Or is it possible that the D…

How well would FS2020 run and look when running the minimum specs?

I have to say, from what I've seen so far on YT, I'm pretty disappointed in who Microsoft have apparently selected as testers. In so many of the videos I see the "pilots" haven't the slightest clue about flying an airplane. And it's not just an inability to fly with even a minimum level of aptitude, but also the fact that there are so many - SO MANY - little things that to an actual pilot just make no sense. Now, if ATC stops giving 60-degree heading corrections every 20 minutes because you're 3 degrees off course like we've been dealing with for the last 20 years (FSX/P3D), I will consider ATC in MSFS to be a victory. But the phraseology is all wrong, up to and incl…

Searched and got no hits on this topic. Does anyone know if FSX and FS2020 can exist on the same computer or is it one or the other? Curious

What do you guys think about the startup of the king air and the cessna grand caravan? Beta and reverse? To me it looks to much of the old fsx simulation. The prop just spins up in no time on startup.

Sim looks incredible, but one thing I’ve noticed is that the taxiway signs are tiny. In all of the videos I’ve seen where someone is flying anything other than a ground-level GA plane, the taxiway signs are illegible because of how small they are. In real life those things are pretty massive (around 2.25 to 3.25 ft tall!) and should be widely visible from high up. Not a big issue, but they should be at least clearly legible from a 747’s cockpit. I’ve also noticed most taxiway signs seem to be 1 sided and always face the runway so that runway exits do not have visible taxiway numbers. Hopefully that will change 🙂

Is there some kind of licensing for using footage you capture in the sim? I'm an animator/video producer and I'm creating a 3D ad for a real estate client where It just dawned on me that MSFS would be a phenomenal place to build my 3D landscape for the "camera" to fly around in, rather than simply using a flat map in Cinema 4D. The video production capabilities are going to be endless.

I would love to see a flight in a 170 or 152 taking off from KHSV going south and immediately turning east for a few miles, then turn north and fly up Memorial Parkway (Hwy 231) before a right turn east again out on I565 for about 7 miles to Moontown 3M5, landing on the grass strip, then take off fly back west to Hsv, then straight west on University Drive (US Hwy 72), then all the way out to Madison and hang a left going south back to KHSV for landing. Should be about a 45 minute flight. PLEASE???

None of my friends are into flight sims and I never tried to get them interested either as to me the flightsim is just my personal hobby. But MSFS is so revolutionary and just for the sake of giving them the chance to escape this depressing pandemic by touring the virtual world it is worth my little effort to get my friends to have a look at the MSFS. I think the easiest and the best thing is to show them couple awesome MSFS videos to get them hooked, but there are so many youtube videos now I have a hard time to decide which one will be the best one to showcase. Any suggestions?

We are in an odd situation. We have a new flight simulator, MSFS, that has detailed coverage of the entire world. It is so detailed that no matter where you live, anywhere in the world, you'll probably be able to find your house. So what happens? Well, we jump in the sim and fly out to find our house. The first time we see it in the sim, our first thought is "Hm, that doesn't look all that much like my real house." Think about this. You are in a desktop flight simulator, looking at a representation of your own house, and your first thought is that it doesn't look quite right. Have you ever, in your wildest imaginings, thought that some day you might f…

I hope the community is pumped, as ASOBO and Microsoft read this daily and as we get ready for launch i wanted to mention a few things. 1) Sydney Harbour Bridge and The Great Wall of China is missing from what we can tell so far from the preview build, two iconic landmarks are missing out of the box from the sim. With all the tech and satellite data i thought this might be included. 2) ATC this has improved in the preview build from what i can tell, in an early video the SIDS and STARS were read out letter by letter so SUGRO was read out letter by letter which was painful and now its improved and wr can hear complete words being mentioned so SUGRO for example …

3PDs sure have a lot to gain with MFS, namely a large audience & bigger $sales, & their new & perhaps more affordable MFS pricing policies may be of benefit to long-term simmers - whilst trying to attract a new user base, & I’ll be first in line for the first quality 3PD helicopter (after Day 1 Orbx crossgrades) in MFS Steam standard version (& Asobo promised VR).

Tonight I have been watching this panel discussion and interview again, and just like the first time it gave me goosebumps. I felt with all the discussion going on, and some of it pertaining to Asobo's and MS' motives, that it is suitable to share this with you again. There are several times during this panel talk that I feel Asobo talking directly to ME/US, the flight simmers. And, in fact, they do adress us several time to reassure us that we are the main target for their production of Microsoft Flight Simulator in 2020. Their words will be in the back of my head now leading up to launch. These men seem honest and genuine, and I think it is a fitting tim…

So, am seeing lots of fantastic 3PD showing off their scenery in MSFS. I recall DEN, MIA, ORD, BUR in the US off the top of my head. It seems we will have plenty of major airports to fly to in a very short order. It also seems like scenery 3PD's are getting their work done a lot quicker than one other must have... high quality aircraft, commerical type to be exact. I get the feeling we will have a plethora of airports and zero payware aircraft to fly with them for many months. I presume the aircraft development is much harder than scenery development. PMDG stated it might be 2Q21 at the earliest before their 1st one is available. FSL, well, they still can't get their stuf…

On the news: Utility developer FS2Crew has made good on their promise and has announced the second product which is coming to the new Microsoft Flight Simulator. Following on from their announcement yesterday of an Airbus crew simulation, FS2Crew has today announced Pushback Express for the new sim. Based on the product name, we assume this product will enhance the pushback capabilities within the simulator. However, we don’t know any other details at this point due to the fact FS2Crew didn’t reveal anything. They said this is because of both competitive and NDA reasons. However, FS2Crew did ask the community; which product should release first? The Airbus…
