Hi, since asobo is - I guess - reading here: Can a feature be implemented that blocks you to long in onto a parking spot that has already been blocked by another pilot on networks like VATSIM? It's quite annoying when flying online, that someone logins upon your plane on the same gate. However, I can see the issue, that you first need to login to find out which gates are blocked on people who fly online and if you are logged in, you probably already annoy someone by standing on the same spot. But maybe these people could relocated automatically to another spot and when they select a new parking spot, they could be warned if that spot has already been used by ano…

This is a really nice video production and shows the almost film making potential of the sim, plus some interesting sites and imaginative ways to sight see. I don’t think I’ve seen it posted on these forums yet.

Ah....It's good to see that MSFS2020 has indicators that can be toggled on for airport locations and various landmarks around the world. The indicators remind me of a wonderful program that was in FSX called FSDiscover. I used that program all the time and became aware of great landmarks around the world. Airport locations came in handy when flying VFR as well. I tried to email the author and developer of that program to get it for P3d, but he didn't answer me, and all indications were that it wouldn't be developed for P3d. My excitement for this sim is growing day by day, and the 18th couldn't come soon enough. I am sure that others who have used FSDiscover have…

It is very well known/established that prior versions of MSFS (2000, FSX, P3D, ect) have inherent instabilities that some simmers have had to deal with for years now. We call these CTDs, BSODs. We even have an entire forum dedicated to them, the CTD forum. I've always thought that this occurs at least in part because prior software installation acts somewhat differently on individual computer installations. Some simmers never have a problem, others like me, finally grew weary of endless random BSODs on final that I could never solve and gave up flight simming over 10 years ago. I used to play PS4's Destiny. I have always found console games very stable. Even a game as hug…

I was thinking of using google earth to plan my 'round the world tour, or google maps perhaps. If you are planning something similar, which tool are you using for the planning?

An interesting job posting from Asobo studio. They're looking for a Mission Designer. https://www.asobostudio.com/careers/mission-designer-mfs-72 This pretty much confirms MSFS will have missions. Sometime after release, or at release if this job posting is for a replacement of someone who quit. Maybe they'll have some missions available at release with more being added later. Plenty of other interesting MSFS related positions to have a look at for indication of what's coming: https://www.asobostudio.com/careers

I hate to say this but looking through the screenshot forum compared to what's on the horizon is really showing the leap we're about to take. Before all the Youtube videos and screenshots of the new sim shots of P3D and XPlane were looking really good. Now all seems dated to me. Maybe it's just my excitement or is the change that stark? The only thing that holds up in how it comes across is DCS. Microsoft is about to really control this hobby seeing so much will be dependent on the Bing/Azure servers on their end. I used to hate having too much in the cloud as a company can pull the plug, charge, or arbitrarily change things at any time in the future. That being sa…

Hey everyone, Super excited by all the preview vids, but I have to say I'm really missing the vibration / head motion shake that has been superbly recreated in P3d with Ezdok, and also Chaseplane, though Ezdok is by far my favorite. I find it adds so much to the realism that watching videos with a static head position just kind of falls flat for me. Couldn't find anything on the ezdok forum about whether they're involved or planning to be for MSFS. Anyone have any comments on whether there is a way to have these effects in the default sim? And any word on chaseplane /ezdok developing? Thanks

Could anyone give any insight about the Caucasus region in MSFS (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia). This is a region with fantastic scenery and cities with amazing architecture, so it would be interesting to see pictures of them (including the airports) as long as it does not breach NDA. Unfortunately I do not own a computer to run MSFS, neither have I bought it so I cannot see for myself. I appreciate your help

Could one of you kind folk who are lucky enough to be in possession of a Beta copy check if ridge lift works please? I recall watching a development video where they were enthusing about how the airflow interacts with the terrain. I know there are no gliders at present, but a light plane like the fox should be able to be sufficiently affected. Just find a decent ridge, direct the wind at it with sufficient strength, then go fly it, and check for altitude gain, wing lifting etc. And also check the Lee side to see if the “washing machine” affect plays a part. Will need a decent spine-back ridge for this part. Might even give one of the Youtubers something to do, instead of…

Have already been reported throughout the Alpha. People have the impression that tester are not doing their job. I assure you. Everything you have seen that is not correct whether is scenery, AP issue or any other things you might think of have already been brought up to Asobo. They are probably on a backlog for things Asobo needs to fix and they are doing fixing them based of their own priorities list. You are only discovering what we have known for months already.

The offline storage of reused flight paths seems appealing but I wonder if anyone knows if a separate hard-drive (like a large 8-12TB platter) can be used in concert with the SSD that has MS installed, thanks

Hi all, I first started flying Sims with F-19 Stealth Fighter on the Amiga, well I say Sims it was more of a game I guess but crikey what a brilliant game it was! Anyway, throughout the years that followed I flicked between various gaming genres and eventually Car Racing Simulations became my main focus, they still do to this very day. Besides them I did dabble with Flight Sims, I tried to get into DCS, I gave IL-2 a fair crack but they both seemingly focused more on the Simulation aspect than Gaming. I then discovered and enjoyed War Thunder for its relatively quick Pick Up And Shoot Stuff approach, although I never "turned off" the flying aids to treat it more …

I was reading a French forum and some testers claim that the 1000 points based flight model does not exist yet and they are using slightly modified legacy FSX model for all aircrafts ( http://pilote-virtuel.com/viewtopic.php?pid=1017724#p1017724 ) . Also read that the real weather injection was as bad as FSX so we will need an add on like Active Sky The weather injection not being perfect is not a big deal but I would be quiet disappointed if they do not deliver what they promised for the flight model

Q8 pilot tries to gauge the quality of the flightmodel of the cessna 152 in this video: However, I find the video a bit confusing. First of all, he clearly states that he is not a c152 pilot, but continues to say that the stall characteristics of a clean, power off stall is not realistic. However, several commentators claim to fly the 152 in real life and say the airplane stalls like that. Further more, he talks about how the weather should affect the handling of the model on the ground, but I'm not sure what it is he wants to see to make it more realistic. Should it be slower to start and stop, or what? I normally enjoy his videos, but unfortunately…

Has there been mention whether this new FS2020 will keep the vast majority of keyboard commands the exact same as FSX? It's taken me years to learn and remember them all, it would be nice if they simply 'transferred over' to this new sim. That is all, thank you.

A recent video on YouTube showing Frankfurt (a non-photogrammetry city) and its airport had me mightily impressed. Although the author of the video is let down by the lack of authentic skyscrapers that are indeed characteristic of the Frankfurt skyline, this can be easily corrected later on. What is may more impressive is the European-style residential areas with blocks of connected buildings that make it look quite authentic, especially as it matches the satellite imagery underneath. Equally impressed by Cologne, although some of the major bridges are underwater. I was afraid that European cities would look quite generic, with standard autogen, but this is clearly not th…

Didnt find anything about it. Are there animals included in MSFS 2020? Not only static ones but also dynamic ones like a big whale or elephants. Has anybody heard anything about it?

It seems overkill to me, and I'd appreciate some beta tester's opinion... To avoid violating the NDA I'll phrase it like this: Is it a good moment for flight simmers to upgrade from 16GB to 32GB?
