I was talking in general, not in reference to this particular incident.

Air Aisa A330 lands at wrong airport!
Really has nothing to do with Airbus systems or Boeing systems or some other 'systems'. This is a mistake that can happen when pilot decides to use a shortcut and land on runway he can all of a sudden see without double-checking it is the right runway. Since 99.9% of time there is no such conflicting airport nearby - it is easy o see why pilot may skip verification. Flying purely using visual cues is as old as aviation and it will always be important part of situational awareness in the cockpit - regardless of 'systems'.

Anyone use an iPad to view charts? What's a good app for this?
Fltplan.com a big advantage - it is free and comes with the charts (US + Canada). If you have specific charts (your own, FSX specific, etc, etc) that you want to view - there are numerous apps to view pdf, doc and other document formats.

Mach is slower than G/S or TAS?
Actually, for aircraft performance (by this we mean 'aerodynamic performance') the only speed that matters is IAS (indicated air speed). TAS only starts to matter when you want to know how soon am I going to arrive to my destination. Therefore in initial pilot's training - you don't even have to know what TAS is.

crash at dubai
Thank ground rescue personnel and cabin crew. As to the cockpit crew - they may have culpability in what happened. But true, always could have been worse.

Aviation attractions on the USA east coast?
It is very good but I would give Udvar-Hazy Air & Space Museum a slight edge.

Breaking: Egypt Air Vanished From Radar
.. what information? There is no information besides that flight is missing. EgyptAir 990 also 'disappeared' in 1999 an no 'in flight' beak up was involved. So did Egyptian Flash Air 604- no in-flight beak-up. Many flights disappeared one way or another with no in-flight break-up. Actually in-flight break-up is pretty rare.

Breaking: Egypt Air Vanished From Radar
"catastrophic" absolutely doesn't have to imply "inflight breakup". Yes, most likely it was a catastrophic event of some kind but it is impossible to say anything more.
