  1. Hi Sascha, there's a genuine link on Mediafire which still works: https://www.mediafire.com/?zg3zw8tfc4fc0
  2. ...and why not, it's a great idea! I know that the earlier MS flight sims can be played on emulators, so why not try the later ones too.
  3. On Win7 x64 you need to run FS9 and all it's add-on programs as Administrator, or commands like this are over-ridden by the system.
  4. You must have done mate, there's no FS98 forum here!
  5. I gave up on weather engines a few years ago for all the above reasons - plus I found that I was spending more time fiddling than flying! I have been using FSMetar ever since, and although the website has now disappeared the program is still available on the web archive website (sorry I can't remember the name or address, I'm not at my FS PC just now). FSMetar is a very small program which only downloads weather data and you can choose from NOAA or VATSIM servers (I use VATSIM). For clouds, I use the freeware HD clouds which I tinted myself using Photoshop - Sepia tint believe it or not, which doesn't look right in Photoshop but looks fine (to me!) in FS2004, the tint fades the further away the clouds are. I have visibilty fixed at 30 miles and this, along with the cloud tint and FSMetar data works perfectly for me at all altitudes and conditions - winds aloft, turbulence, thermals and all.
  6. Hi sarp_79, nice idea! I have all the WOAI packages except military, and all their flightplans are based on real-world ones, so I can visit any of the larger airline's websites and view their Destinations map for a good idea of where their WOAI fleet will fly to. A compilation of links to all the airline websites' Destination Maps and Schedules would be interesting...
  7. Hi Tilly, I've just downloaded and taxied the Hastings around Church Fenton AB (UK2000 Scenery) with no problems using brakes or parking brakes, releasing brakes and then setting off again. I'm also using Win7 64bit. Something may have altered your FS9.cfg keyboard commands or, more likely, your FSUIPC joystick commands which can be aircraft specific. Might be worth a check!
  8. Re: Victoria Plus Canada scenery issue - it's likely to be a missing scenery .bmp, try running process monitor while at Camel Point again, then see which .bmp appears in the error log. If you have the bitmap, copy it into the main Texture folder. If you don't have it, copy and rename a similar one as the missing bitmap. Try creating a separate thread for the heli question, there are plenty of rotorheads hovering around here to help!
  9. Hi sarp_79, I've never heard of a shadow bitmap which could be edited as such - but there may be one somewhere! I do know that you can darken the shadows with ENB Series and/or SweetFX graphics tweakers if your rig can take it - on mine it's a framerate killer so I only use it for screenshots but the effects can be very realistic indeed.
  10. Hi John, glad that's cured it for you. How it works is that the Scenery/World/Scenery files over-ride the Addon Scenery files, so whenever you find runway 'peeling' textures or bleed-throughs you can use this fix. As Harald says, this is quite common because the scenery designer will most likely use a different terrain mesh to you and me. That VW must be worth quite a few Euro's Harald, I hope the Owner's Club don't know you use it for Altitude testing!
  11. Hi John, sorry I should have said copy the addon AFCAD.
  12. Your Cessna altimeter should only be around 3.5ft higher than the airport altitude, so there's a problem with the airport scenery and the underlying terrain mesh. A quick fix is to copy the AFCAD file and paste it into your Scenery/World/Scenery folder, then change the filename to AF2_UKLR_elevation_adjustment.bgl to distinguish it from the 'active' AFCAD.
  13. From the Urban Dictionary definition: "On a message board, posting something irrelevent on a really old topic to bring it to the top of the list topics." This post is not irrelevant, it is correcting some incorrect information in the earlier post.
  14. Hi Richard, well done with the screenshots! I think I see what you mean - the buildings have 'flat' colours with no 'photoreal' appearance except for the glazed sections. Mine are the same, it's the way the textures have been created and nothing to do with graphics settings. The only thing which may make a difference is setting your display settings as shown below, I have everything on and at 100% where possible: These settings still give me very similar results to yours at Barcelona:
  15. 1-You can adjust the engine volume slider in the FS2004 Sound options screen. 2-You can hover your mouse over each display and mousewheel up or down to adjust the brightness.
