  1. If you have a look at this video at approx 14m29s you can hear several chimes I haven't heard before. It's not something that is a part of the airplane, so I guess it is a chime that the simulator is recognizing an "event". The chime continues to ding maybe 3 or 4 times before it stops. What does the chime mean? Oh, and when I say I haven't heard it before, I mean I haven't heard it before in a boeing, airbus or whatever in other sims. I have, however, heard it several times now on various videos on MSFS.

  2. Hello all. Years and years ago, when i first starting getting into flight sims, I located a program called "It's Your Plane" from a developer named Robert Czar. It was one of the first "co-pilot" type programs and used the microsoft voice recognition for voice commands (you could tell your copilot via a headset to change comm freqs for example). Robert, sadly, passed on many years ago. One of the great things he did was plan an around the world trek for small(er) general aircraft. He even went as far as to log it as a novel, talking about real hotels and weather and so forth for each leg of the flight. Although those flight files and website are now gone (the se…

Good morning, This might be slightly offtopic but somehow connected to the upcoming MSFS. On FR24 i just observed a TBM7 crossing the Atlantic Ocean nonstop from Teterboro to Limerick in Ireland. This is definately something i am going to be looking into when MSFS is out. 😛 Best regards, Tom

In some of the videos I have seen, people uses a X-box controller for the drone camera. Seems like a good idea, so is there a special controller I should go for, or will any one do? Can I just go for the cheapest one, (maybe even a used one) or is there any advantage of buying a more expensive one? And remember, it's only for camera control, not as a yoke.

Hi everyone I have ordered the Disc Version of Microsoft Simulator and wondered if anyone knows if you have to create a Microsoft account in order to install and run the simulator or will it be similar to the FSX installation with a Product ID number inside the box? I really do hope I do not need to create an unnecessary account just to run the sim Cheers Paul

  6. After watching videos of MSFS 2020 airports I noticed that the default airliners are generic and not Airline specific. Will real Airline paint schemes be available for the sim?

It's about that time. Thought I'd start a thread to keep us posted on new add-on releases. For most of us it's going to be interesting building this sim up to where we had our previous renditions. The basics for for me with this version is an AI Package for Airliners to populate airports (Flight1 Ultimate Traffic for example), great Airliners/GA to fly, and Airports. Out the gate so far around FS2020 release time is: FlyTampa - Vienna, Boston, Sydney Milviz - 737-200 FSDreamTeam - KORD FlightBeam- KDEN Orbix - EGLC, London City Pak, LOWI, EGNM, KORS, KTIW, KBUR, KSBA Feel free to add more as you find new releases!

Did they say something about it, or what's the usual behaviour of MS on this matter? If you buy the premium deluxe version of the game, are you only going to get the added planes and airports, or you can expect free stuff in the future? (which standard version users will have to pay for)

So, I know we are all excited about the new Flight Sim from MS. But, don't forget our sub-hobbies that come with flight-sim... Building and overclocking, and tweaking. That's right.. tweaking. Yes, I agree, most of us would rather have a sim that needs absolutely Nooo tweaking. But, if that were possible, then 'part of the fun' would be missing. (maybe) Humm, I'm not sure I like those clouds. I wonder if it's just the way the videos were recorded? Or why they look so undefined. They are not sharp on the edges. Looks like out of focus; like mashed potatoes from a distance. Not sure why. And also, the terrain... not so sharp. Hopefully, it's just t…

  11. Lot's of vids. Lot's of vids on showing MSFS2020 at its best. How about a vid on showing bandwidth in the three categories (isn't it 5, 20 and 50 mbps?), so we can see a side-by-side comparison as to what is lost/gained as you increase bandwidth. Can you d/l more up front and keep bandwidth at a minimum? Also would be nice to see an airport that is not in the top 40. What do default airports look like, big and small? What does an area outside the photoreal imagery look like... thinking northern Alaska or Canada. Thx P.S. - looks like a vid on default airports was just posted... we'll need to chk it out.

I'm sure I must be missing something. For a solid year we have had weekly "updates" touting, above all, the quality of the scenery that was coming our way. Then one of the first add-ons that is announced is Orbx's replacement scenery.

  13. Greetings, testers and people not under NDA! I was wondering if you could do us a favor and do a video or a forum post comparing the live sim weather with real life. I'm very interested to see how the sim weather compares to real life.

I have been a happy user of Navigraph FMS data and Charts for quite some time. The new MSFS uses a different provider that I assume will end up as a paid update for each cycle. I wonder if Navigraph will still be useful/usable or just duplicate? Should I consider cancelling as it is highly likely once the new simulator is released, my P3D time will become quite limited/non-existant. Asking for a friend...😄

  15. From what we've seen so far, MSFS looks fantastic almost everywhere in the world. However what most reviewers complain (or even laugh) about are missing landmarks. And I have to admit, Washington without the Capitol, Paris without Notre Dame and so forth looks kind of strange. Not to mention cities that have no handmade landmark at all. Especially in Europe important buildings (like castles, cathedrals, television towers or lighthouses) certainly define the whole landscape around them and are vital orientation points for VFR flying. Not only those in cities, but especially those in the middle of nowhere (Great Wall of China, Machu Picchu, Pont du Gard...) S…

I find it curious that all these data centres will be crunching ortho/AI/rendering/etc day in day out to feed us lovely pictures and highly valuable data and yet we pay only a one off fee. There must be more to this commercially for Microsoft. I can't see it being the addons. Surely not profitable enough for MS. So, perhaps its about the data? Facebook is free. Google & Google Maps is free but they make money all the same. I wonder what they can infer from our usage patterns? Maybe its about simply signing up lots of people with microsoft accounts and tracking cookies. Google probably tracks everything I do but I didn't have a Microsoft account before. This doesn…

Is there a way to message Asobo to tell them to try to add TOD location and fix the autopilot and VNAV systems? Hopefully these are some of the priorities. Not everyone wants to get payware aircraft. X-Plane 11 default 737 had a working VNAV and decent autopilot, so Asobo should be able to be as good or slightly better in the default airliners. I hope they’re listening.

  20. I read today that you can buy everything in the xbox app catalog with 20% discount if you have an xbox game pass. You pay 1 for a month of pass and you get 22€ of discount on the full loaded version. How can you refuse that? I don't know if it's for everyone or just the Italian market though.

Do we know anything about how updates for products sold via the in-sim marketplace will be handled? Will MS push the updates directly to us inside the sim, or will we be getting popups telling us to go visit the developers webpage to get our updates? Personally, I hope that devs will let MS push the updates to us. Makes everything super easy. But how about addons that you buy directly from the devs or 3rd parties? I hope they can be added to the push-function and not have to be updated manually.

Theres a lot of life in the coming sim with animals, road traffic, boats, real time air traffic but when I was watching a video of someone flying over the Taj, I realized the planet still looks dead. I hope once the sim gets released and all the physics of flight are fine tuned that Asobo looks at expanding the sim with more life. No more empty beaches, attraction places have crowds of ppl, major cities have sidewalk traffic, seabases have people fishing, airports have active parking lots of ppl and cars coming and going. Animated life of people in places that can be seen from the air would be a great addition down the road.
