This is a great video in its own right (typical Squirrel production) plus demonstrates what an excellent teaching tool MSF can be. But if you look in the comments it brings out a good point about the wind and gusts interface. The information provided is ambiguous. If Asobo is reading, you might want to reconsider how the interface is labelled.

I've been watching so many videos now from the Beta, I'm starting to worry that it's going to take some of the luster off the unboxing of the sim on the 18th. Maybe the videos should all include a spoiler alert, when they show something good.

Many of us would be happy if Pilot2atc will modify their app to be suitable for MFS2020, also.I think just adating theapp with simconnect would be okey for this (not sure) Some of us like to fly offline with speech recognition. And hopefully speech recognition will be implemented to MFS2020 itself in the near future.

This should be fun, but might take me a while to really get into it. My flying is so instinctively a lone activity..... Yet I very much enjoyed flying with others in MS FLIGHT....... I think because the effort was so focused on fun, whereas I expect flying in MSFS multiplayer to be fairly grim, for some reason. Hmmmmmmmm.....

If you start your flight an a large airport and get a clearance including many taxiways to the runway, do you need to write them down and use charts to navigate? Is there a taxi line displayed? How is it done in MSFS?

Is there anyone that flies the beta with a CH Yoke? There seems to be no profile (yet?) for the mapping of buttons and switches of the CH yoke, so i did it manually, that was easy enough thanks to the clear menu's. Everything works fine now except........... the pov hat switch (for me really the most needed thing in this exploring, sightseeing phase). I tried everything i know but can't get it to work. So i hope there's someone here on Avsim who's got it working and willing to share the "secret" to it.

Hi guys. I know there is a video that shows us that there will be real traffic. And what is the main difference between real traffic and AI traffic? The question is; If a Ryanair 737 is currently landing at LEPA in this moment, in the simulator will be the same real movement? We will not have all real liveries/airplanes of the world, or will need be waiting for a DLC/Mod? Thanks.

Most of the FS20 light aircraft have a glass cockpit. We can expect hot discussions around this. Actually we already had some. Fellow simmers missing the old steam gauges. I have been a long time in the later camp but using my old F1 GTN 750 for five years now, I came to appreciate more and more its precious help to navigate in the boonies, specially in mountainous terrain. And having an all-in-one glass cockpit in a Cub doesn't seem as blasphemous 😉 as it used to be. Trent Palmer has recently released a video on this. I hope you'll enjoy it as I did. We are full in FS20 world, aren't we ? @Asobo : I'll tell you guys, I'd love to be able to open your Garm…

Hi everyone, The new MSFS has brought me back here after a few years. I was running P3D previously. I had to create a new account as my email address has changed and I could not remember my password. I'm sure this Q has been asked already (sorry!) but I did not find anything. As someone who is likely to purchase add-ons in the future, am I better off with Steam or Microsoft Store? I am wanting to put MSFS2020 on its own dedicated SSD. Also, if I want to fly online, will we be able to do this regardless of which 'platform' I purchase on? Thanks!

Cessna 172 Skyhawk appears twice in the plane list: in standard version (with G1000) and in deluxe version. What is the difference? Cheers

OK, getting concerned here now. In all the previews I see interesting wheather happening at relatively low altitudes (say, under FL250 or so) But higher than that, BLUE skies. No Cirrus clouds, nothing. always clean So, if this is an omission in the sim, it means those medium/laung hauls with the 320/747/787 jets at FL300 - 400 are going to be extremely boring Please show me I am wrong !

I have just thought, that all right, everyone is really excited about the sim release, so am I, but I think the MSFS release is just a middle step in the overall experience. I think we should wait until the dust settles after the release, when both commercial and non-commercial content creators get creative and only THEN you will see the power of the sim! I drool when I think about all those amazing add-ons and I don't even mean expensive airports or study-level aircraft, but tiny modifications and solutions which will make MSFS look and behave better. The solutions from the category that makes you think "Asobo should have implemented it from the very beginning". Hav…

Contrails 🙂 couldn't resist - sure hope so that would be great but I think they forgot them Contrails or vapour trails are line-shaped clouds produced by aircraft engine exhaust or changes in air pressure, typically at aircraft cruising altitudes several miles above the Earth's surface

Do I need the flightsim of the Century? Skimming through this morning's news I found an article on the upcoming Microsoft Flight Simulator. I read it and it certainly looks inviting. But I already have two flightsims of the century for the last century, FS9 and FSX, and two flightsims of the century for this century, P3Dv4 and P3Dv5. FS9 contains all the California Classic retro 1961 airports and ai propliners. I fly the MAAM DC-3 on it. FSX is my military simulator for MAIW and I have a stable full of transports, trainers, fighter, and bombers for it. P3Dv4 has only the TrueEarth sceneries for Washington, Oregon, and Northern California. I fly onl…

It would be very nice, if the new MFS2020 will be downloded in few steps. The required part and the optional part that we would choose. For example, we can select the planes of our choice to download at that moment and the rest later, as we wish. This will reduce the download sizes, time and density on the servers.

Do I need to run MS flight sim 2020 with cable from the modem or will Wifi work well enough? I have 250/200 mbps with 5ms ping over my Wifi.

This is one area that needs improvement in the future. Also toward the end you get to hear some of the ambient sounds they've prepared for this game.
