There is going to be an influx of new comers and neophyte to the flight sim community. So my ask is "Be nice". You will hear a lot of stupid question, things you have taken for granted over the years. Just "Be nice". Don't tell them to RTFM. Just "be nice". This is a brand new era and not everyone is a real PPL or know anything about plane except what they have experienced in GTA 5. So let's remind ourselves that we are privileges to have more sim experience and get the chance to finally get a new sim that doesn't look like it was done 15 years ago.

According to this video (in french): - The sim will continue to have 1 update per month - They already have planned 2 DLC after release (maybe gliders/helicopters ?) - They are negotiating with airlines for licencing their liveries, but since the Covid crisis, Neumann said it is very difficult for them to negotiate since the airlines have other things to do in this period.

Which company will release the first WWII aircraft for Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020), and what will it be? What if anything will it show, do you think that previous iterations weren't able to do? In other words, what has been missing from our understanding of those venerable old planes. Whenever I see them fly over Long Beach here, I am always struck by how loud they are.

Replay mode it seems from the videos like P3D/FSX/X-Plane and I guess most other games that have this doesn't look as smooth as the real gameplay. It looks like the aircraft is on rails sometimes and not moving through the air. I've seen a lot comments about the smoothness of the videos or how the planes appear to handle etc. I think the above probably explains why you see that. You can tell the video was shot in replay mode because they will be flying the aircraft in a way the autopilot might i.e smooth turns following a course but the autopilot panel lights are not switched on!

Just saw this video and it shows how ie. Photographers can use the sim. A a photographer myself, who loves taking landscape photos, it surely gave me some ideas. What other things can you imagine it being used for? https://youtu.be/5ecueP1sVPU

From FSElite. Whilst developers have already gotten their hands on the SDK, Microsoft confirmed that anyone who buys the simulator will get access to all the same tools the team uses to create aircraft, scenery and missions. Can I say : yeah ! In an unrelated info, MS has decided to be a Gold Member of the Blender Foundation. Just sayin’...

Hoping any leakers or someone else in the know could shed some light on the stability of the sim. Will it be stabile enough to complete a long haul flight (ie more than 4 hours real time)? Also, does it have any means of autosaving that lets you start from where your sim crashed/power went etc?

In all of the preview videos I've been looking out to see what the contrails at cruising altitude would look like, or the jet blast on a wet runway etc. Does anybody have any knowledge on this? Just this morning I was watching this video and even noticed that there is no form or wake effect or spray when landing on water:

What happened to the 3D buildings and objects on Bing maps. I thought it would give me an good indication of the level of detail coverage MFS would have in my area but the bird's eye view only give a slanted view of the flat image, or am I missing something. I am sure the 3D views were available in Bing before but I can not find it.

Though I'd post here as they seem to read this forum more than their own forum! I wont be buying this until it is available on STEAM. I have used Steam for many many years, since the start CS 1.6 FTW! I am not going to buy another version in the hope that you can add it to Steam at a later date. Often it never works out. So there you have it Microsoft, you wont get a penny out of me until I can order it on Steam. Oh, one caveat: I won't buy also if there is no Track IR support. Currently there is not, one month from release!!!!! 😱😱😱 Thank you very much 💪

Some people have mentioned that Asobo said MSFS 2020 would be a 10 year project. I could not find the exact quote that said MSFS 2020 would be a 10 year project, except at the Developer Q & A where one of the team members said he hoped MSFS 2020 would be a "platform that we could all grow with over the next decade" (is this the quote that people are citing when they say MSFS 2020 is supposed to be a 10 year project?). So, we all remember what happened with Aces Studio. And we all also remember what happened with Microsoft Flight. So assuming that MSFS 2020 is a 10 year project, how will it be funded such that it does not go the direction of Aces Studio or Micro…

Hi, I have seen a video that claims to have downloaded round about 8 GB of data for ~10 hours usage. I think that sound reasonable. However, I would like it more to download the places I use most. Can we say or assume by now, how much GB free space you would need for instance to have the whole UK or whole US on your drive? The other question: What kind of servers does Microsoft use for the provided flightsim data? Are these based on a sustanable energy?

Hello all, long time lurker here. Like many of you, I'm eagerly anticipating this release. A question for those who may know: Will MSFS have a moving map so that you can monitor where you are during a flight? And if not embedded into the title already, perhaps a 3rd party tool/add-on that might do the same? Thanks!

I have just received an email offering me access to the Alpha build version of MSFS. This is surprisingly coincident with my pre-ordering the release version of MSFS!Prudent checking tho' showed that all the links in the email offer were to the domain go.sparkpostmail1.com, which on checking shows to be a known source of spam!So I mention this in case any of you think MSFS has arrived early for you!

Here's a thread where we can put some interesting footage of the pre release MSFS. I will start with this one, showing 10 airports with surroundings. Best presentation I have seen yet.

I suppose most people are well aware of the runway and approach light issue that was introduced in FSX and has been plaguing FSX and Prepar3D ever since? I'm talking about the issue where some lights aren't shown until very late, depending on height and angle etc. It gives a very ugly popping appearance. There are many threads about it, e.g. http://www.prepar3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6312&t=133676 It's still present in Prepar3D and I've been seeing some worrying signs in various MSFS screenshot the last months that this bug is still present there. I didn't really want to believe it but in the last July screenshot batch I saw the screenshot from Matt987123 and …

Good morning everyone, If one of these have been discussed before, please excuse. But after reading alot of forums, watching alot of clips and so on, i still have one or two questions regarding some weather aspects in MSFS. Maybe one of the testers can answer them if allowed? First of all would be how MSFS deals or depicts temperature inversions? We all know this can be a really cool sight in real life and i wonder if this will be the case in the Sim too? Second one is more of an observation than a question...on every Screenshot i saw that shows overcast clouds, they look very greyish from above. For my taste and experience a little bit too gre…
