Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Hi altogether, I just saw the new alpha-screenshots and I am really wondering if I‘m the only one here missing feather-like cirrus clouds?? There are so many tiny things being discussed / criticised, but nobody seems to care that there is just one cloud-type in the new sim 😳? Anybody else noticed that? Stefan

Dunno if it's the right place, but some info for your guys that applied for alpha: I just entered XBOX Insider app on windows minutes ago and had the invitation, even though I didn't receive any email... So check the app to see if you got an invite! I'm in the program (waiting for invite) since first day lol.

Can you assign views like external and various VC views to the keypad to make shifting between views like a VC view and an external one on the fly vs going a menu system? like how ecza or chaseplane allow you to assign to a key; makes life easier and helps with immersion. Hopefully this ability will be available, or I may not be able to get it. Simon

I just watched the San Francisco to Vegas full flight. It struck me that the tower gives wind info as 257 at 3. Shouldn't the direction for realism sake be rounded to the next 10 degrees, and wind speeds of 3 and below be considered as calm anyway? So would the actual tower in this particular case not rather say "wind calm" or, if the wind is stronger for example say "wind 260 at 18"? Just a tiny detail, but maybe easy enough to implement with a few lines of code even at this late stage? Fox

Now that were much closer to release....I have to ask again (I did many months ago), "Is Force Feedback modeled into MSFS 2020?" I ONLY fly with my wonderful Microsoft FF2 joystick, and I've purchased many of them over the years. Since it was discontinued by Microsoft, there is a "cult" of users for this stick. Ebay is the only place to buy them now, and they command high prices. If you've ever used one with Russell Dirks' famous FS Force software, then you know that it is one of the best experiences in flight sims. Anyone know if MSFS's license is going to be associated with specific hardware? Or can you install it on 2 computers as long as you only use 1 install at a time like you can with Steam games, etc? Might be building a dedicated VR box at some point, but curious if I'll have the option to keep it on my normal box as well.

Hi folks, Flight Simulator is the best video game series to make video content on, in my opinion. In the past, you have several different types of cameras to work with, you could rewind time to an extent, and many different types of views. One feature I enjoy in X-plane that I don't believe FSX had, is the amount of time it gave you to rewind your flight and record your best moments, letting you focus on your flight while also recording live if you wanted to. It would be really cool to have this feature in Flight Simulator, along with cinematic cameras. I am very excited by this even if it's just a representation of a simple autopilot + FMC I think it's enough to keep me going and get a lot of enjoyment out of it for a while.

My current system is fairly precis the stated recommended system for MSFS and I use it with a 27" 2560*1440 monitor (2K). What can I expect of MSFS ? Of course there must be limitation considering a stated ideal requirement. But what will these limitations be ? An interesting question is how it will compare to XP11 + Ortho4XP which I use and find great. What I understand is that MSFS implement this technique through streaming. So I think that MSFS might be like my XP11 setup but for the whole world which would constitute a big pros. In FSXSE and P3D 2 I experience that performance depends very much of where you fly.
