  1. Started by Slayer,

Wondering why helicopters are totally absent from MSFS2020. Even if you get the premium edition not one to be found in all 30 vehicles you get....bummer.

  2. Hi, so there will be 3 published versions: STANDARD ($60) DELUXE ($90) PREMIUM ($120) These versions differ by available planes and hand-crafted airports: So, I guess my question is – which version are you getting? Do you think that the premium versions are worth the content? Let this be a discussion 🙂

  3. Started by hypercide,

Looking at the background of Orbx's new CEO (a PhD, a connection to information science, and an interest in "high growth and turnaround outcomes"), some questions that have been on my mind seem relevant: What, precisely, are the "quick growth and turnaround outcomes" available in a company that produces scenery for flight sim platforms? Why would one of the wealthiest companies in the world, Microsoft, decide to invest in a.......flight simulation game (that it's killed twice)? So....to what extent is MSFS2020 actually a proof-of-concept for something that would make Google maps look like an etch-a-sketch (because BING has been mentioned frequently in the promo material)…

    1. Is the initial release going to RUN on Xbox One? Asking for a brother who uses Xbox One only and is interested in MSFS. 2. I still can't tell--is scenery streamed or stored locally, or both? If the former, is there a monthly sub fee? Thanks

  8. There is an option in MFS to download and store scenery for flights instead of streaming. But how much data would be stored for a flight from Manchester to London Heathrow for example? This would involve flying south after take-off over Birmingham and then over the City of London before turning right, flying over Central London before landing at Heathrow. The amount of data stored is unknown but given the route is bound to be considerable. The normal cruise level for a 737 would be 190. How wide is the visible corridor? All the way to the horizon? According to this calculator it's 169 miles. http://www.ringbell.co.uk/info/hdist.htm Once a alpha tester is re…

  9. I don't know if it was seen before, but I find it very interesting and informative, "Please allow me a personal comment I have been cropping up for close to a year. We learned about the new sim at the same time as everybody else. It is utterly incredible Microsoft and Asobo managed to keep this such a secret for over two years. But very soon after the first announcement was done we were called by Microsoft to see if we had any interest in working with them. Uhhhh.... yeah! Now we had some luck. The development team, Asobo, is based in Bordeaux and I live close to Bordeaux. So we could set up a quick meeting (this is all before Corona, when w…

  13. I'm curious as to why Aerosoft has entered into a partnership with MS to distribute the physical copy via DVD only. I removed my DVD drive from my PC ages ago, I really only use digital downloads or USB attached media these days. Would it not make sense to also distribute via a USB stick? Cheers, Jerome

  14. I'm curious to know if any of the members from ASOBO Studio are from the Aces team that developed the original Microsoft Flight Simulator? Is is this a completely new team building this from the ground up?

  15. I am glad that I don't need to purchase a weather engine, flight planner, ground services, AI package, textures, night lighting, lighting for AI planes, effects packages, camera system, and the list goes on and on. MFS is the 1st sim to include most of this into the core of the sim already. I am tired of having to rely on purchasing and dealing with the endless amounts of tinkering and setting up 3rd party add-ons to play nicely with one another. It's finally nice to see a flight sim that have most of the stuff we want from the start. The less we have to rely on 3rd party add-ons the better. It's been a PITA with the old FSX, Prepar3D, and X-Plane. I do apprecia…

I created a map to illustrate all the bespoke hand-crafted airfields by Edition in the forthcoming Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS): (if any Admins can allow me to embed the map it would be appreciated) Andy https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1TxoAiv_-sVesjlFn_61F3qYoyoPspFpF&usp=sharing

  18. Started by Deleted,

Perhaps it will be possible, for example, to buy extensions to the 787 for system depth? Graphically, all planes are great! While others like pmdg always rebuild the entire aircraft, another approach would interest me: Add-ons for the system depth which have been programmed by someone to individually expand (buy). Do people have access to standard planes through the SDK?

  19. Topic says it all. I realize there are multiple NDAs. But some of these airports are already available in other sims. Case in point. Do you guys think FSDreamTeam made lax, jfk, ord? If they didn’t these are three huge ones they probably just got cut out on.

Ok, I am going to be buying the new Flight sim 2020, But what i would like to know , How will all airports compare to the real thing, Its like Dubai airport, Standard V Premium , What will the difference be. I bought a lot of add on airports for the FSX , Dubai, Bangkok, All UK airports, But how will Edinburgh Glasgow Manchester look or your local airports, TBH, I would prefer to know what i am buying before buying, Its OK buying the Premium if your going to use the 5 added airports and aircraft but most wont, but see the name premium thinking its going to be so much better. What will the future hold, Will we be able to buy 3rd party addons or will …

  23. Hello, I have just bought the Premium Deluxe Pre-Order. What is strange, I selected PayPal as the payment method, I received the confirmation, but not a single USD was deducted from my PayPal account. Is that normal? 🙂 Now when I open the Microsoft Store, it says that the Microsoft Flight Simulator is installed. But what installed and where? I guess at this stage you can't select the disc to install the product to? I have bought a brand new SSD and I want all MSFS-related content to be there, I hope it will be possible to change the location when the full sim is released? Thanks!
