So I had a play with the latest Bing 3D maps to find specific areas of airports in China that are destinations from my airport I was very disappointed to see Chongqing (Jiangbei) International New layout and new terminal 3 still under construction in the Bing images. under Google maps it is shown fully complete along with the extra two runways. In real life this terminal and runways have been operational since 2017 and I have flown in and out of there at least 3 times.. The point is, the images shown on Bing are at least 7 to 12 years out of date. I am guessing MS2020 will reflect this out of date imaging.. For non US default airports. While…

Been a simulator enthusiast since the early '80's. As we sit on the doorstep of MSFS 2020 here is a question. So when did the transition from simple games to true simulation first emerge. So I recall the aftermarket add-on sets of USA Scenery Sets East and West. What year did those appear and version did those enhance? Then came Artwick and Moment's Flight Assignment: ATP, which if I recall at the time included all published approach procedures at USA airports. Runway approaches, not arrivals and departures. That simulator first provided legitimate IFR (at the time VOR to VOR, NDB, and ILS) navigation. Right? I recall it was Sierra Pro Pilot that first provided t…

Hi. I just upgraded my download speed through my cable provider from 100mbps to 1 Gig (1000mbps). I'm very pleased with my new download capability. However, I notice when I do speed tests that my UPLOAD speed only reaches 26mbps. Even when I only had 100mbps speed, my upload speed then was around 9.50mbps. How important is upload speed for the upcoming sim, and why do you think my cable company limits this parameter even on high, expensive download speeds? Stan

Has anyone seen Joe or Geoff? Just wondering if either one will come out of the woodwork with this new release! They always gave a breath of fresh air around here to me going back 20 years even.

The leaks seem to have permanently changed the community’s opinion, and I feel it’s for the better. Before the leaks started to spring up, we were all collectively hyped about the new sim and had really high expectations. But after multiple leaked videos of the sim in it's Alpha state, the community’s opinion seems to have permanently changed. Everyone has now tempered their expectations for the base sim and are more understanding of the long-term development plans set out by Asobo/Microsoft and are more appreciative of the same. The general community finally understands that no project of this massive scale can be released without any imperfections.…

Bing maps still has many airports blurred when they are (partly or shared) military. An example is Eindhoven (EHEH). It's not a small airport, but at a Dutch forum someone mentioned it is represented as a grass strip? I have no idea why this airport is blurred in Bing, in Google Maps it is in plain view for over 10 years already. Looks like Bing is very slow with updates. Can someone who is a tester maybe say some words on how airports that are blurred in Bing are shown? I looked up some military airfields in the USA, but the ones I tried were not blurred in Bing. Are there still blurred airfield in the USA?

Well, boys and girls, it seems we will soon be entering the world of massive and ongoing/continuous internet downloads with MSFS2020. Microsoft/Asobo recommend a best speed of 50Mbps and my previous speed was about 90Mbps, but I still wanted a bit of headroom, and trundled to the telephone to contact my ISP, whereupon I learned some quite interesting things. Several years ago, when I first chose a plan, it was for 60Mbps,with a monthly cap of 1.5TB and I have been happy all of this time because I was handily exceeding the rated speed. However, I found out that in the interim since we last spoke, my ISP had jumped my speed to 250Mbps and unlimited monthly do…

...and could miraculously add 3 things to the MSFS, what would they be? Here's what I choose: 1) An embedded livery editor in two versions - Professional, where pro users could create real-world liveries, and Simple, where other users could create their own non-real liveries from tens of various templates. 2) It's not a very high-level wish, but I'd like to have one, easy to use autoupdater that would provide patching & updating for all contents of the MSFS. 3) I know it was already mentioned in the forums, but an Economy System with pilot career etc. I don't want to create another topic, so I'd like to know how Asobo is going to resolve the p…

Finally I got an invite to the alpha but there’s one problem. My new pc is broken and back at the shop for the next two weeks. Originally I signed up for the alpha with my old PC but changed it when my new system arrived. I still have my old PC, yea it’s a lot less powerful but I wonder if it would be possible to install the Alpha on this for the time being?

1. When downloading the 90 odd gb's, does it have a resume download feature? I would hate to bomb out near the end. 2. After downloading the alpha, upon launch on the 18th, do you have to re download it all over again or will it just download the needed files. Many thanks in advance for any answers.

So one of my oldest pet peeves within the msfs series had to do with its built in camera features, or lack thereof for features that i felt were too clumsy or nonexistant and therefore we needed addons for replays, and custom saved cockpit views. One nice featrure of xplane is just how easy and fast it is to set up some preset cam views for yourself that can be bound the numbers on your keyboard. You can easily use aarows to move yourself anywhere in cockpit or cabin then hit a control key plus number to save that view...didnt make any different if it was internal or external...it would save and you could then just type that number and be taken to your preset view...…

Hi Could anyone please tell me if MSFS will be able to emulate Joystick and keyboard assignments, ie press a joystick/keyboard button and a certain view comes up or say, retract gear etc? Many thanks in advance.
