Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

What happens to the Alpha and Beta testers now that the game is out? Will they get a key to unlock the finished product as a thank you for testing, or will their copies be "locked" and they have to buy the finished game like everyone else?

Have only tried the 172 for a decent amount of time. My observations: default control sensitives are too high and you need a pretty agressive curve to make them react "normally". The feel of the 172 is very good to me (I'm no pilot) but have not tried spins or stalls yet. I think they did a great job of making it feel like it's actually flying through air. Does pitch seem too aggressive to anyone else?

Dear my fellow Kiribatians, as we have all been flying since earlier today I was wondering how we will install premium deluxe? I have it purchased, but the sim doesn't seem to know that and therefore without having to purchase it again will it just automatically update to the premium deluxe or will we have to reinstall?

The people in the Central Standard Time can download now! Should be done in about an hour at 300 mps up and down. Downloaded one of the Halo games on Game Pass that was approx. 104 GB last night and it took 50 minutes. Hoping this is true for MSFS. Will report back how long it took, and how it went.

We know that MSFS uses live data for airliner traffic, but what about GA traffic? If it exists, I guess that the sim uses default GA planes to populate airfields, doesn't it? And if it does, where does the data come from? Anyone being able to spot GA departures and arrivals at airfields? Having something like MyTraffic 6 in FSX/P3D would be nice.

Wonder if these people even know what happened today. sounds like a story for the local paper.......

Really...one of the best functions of FSX. I don't understand why Microsoft would make it so hard to move from FSX to 2020 in regards to the controls. I click on shift-Y..nothing. Tim x

If you have a hotas, yoke, and throttle quadrant are you able to keep all of them plugged in and configure the same key maps to separate devices? I'm hoping I will be able to go from yoke and throttle quadrant to hotas without needing to plug stuff in and move things around every time. Does anyone have a setup like this that can provide any insight?

Strangely, I'm having the weirdest issue where having my HOTAS plugged in is disabling my keyboard during flights. It's like the game only wants to accept my mouse and joystick as inputs.

it's starting to hurt my brain how are you coping with that ? are you following both forums or just one ?

I know from experience that software testing can be a thankless, repetitive and sometimes frustrating job. Not all things found and reported get fixed at the same rate as they're brought up, if at all, and that's the nature of the development game. You were part of the team that brought this simulation to fruition for the rest of us, and you deserve thanks, recognition and a virtual toast for that. HI all Does TIR work ?

Anybody else experiencing major stutters in Live weather ? Did a try without and everything seems to be fine.

Watching Drawyah do a 787 flight in the release version. AP working smoothly. He's doing VNAV with no issues. No oscillation or rapid banking bugs. FMC looked to finally work right. If you were in the beta or you watched some "preview" videos prior to the release version, you know how big of a showstopper these bugs were. The airliners may not be study level, but that at least appear to work now as an A to B via IFR tool. Thanks to Asobo for taking this stuff seriously and getting it fixed.

Wow is all I can say Australia is stunning running on ultra 4k very smooth from initial tests with my i7 8700k 1080ti 64 gb ram, yes there are some bugs but in 12 months this Sim will be incredible,I really didn't want to go to work today, lol

One of the primary things I'm initially excited for is the landing challenge leader boards, how long do you think it will take before people manage to achieve impossible scores? How will Asobo prevent cheaters from rendering the whole thing pointless?

Just curious if anyone out there has a Radeon 5600/5700XT and what their thoughts are with the sim. The graphics card is the last part of my new system purchase and my primary thoughts are to go with Nvidia. Thanks
