August 18, 20205 yr I went to bed last night well before midnight and decided I'd download (from Store) today. I pre-ordered so all I had to do was click on the provided icon in my taskbar. So, I downloaded MSFS at 10am and it went smoothly. Absolutely no problems. It did ask me to BROWSE for the drive I wanted, and that was one of my pre-install concerns...but no problem. I didn't have an "ANY KEY" freeze 95.15 Gigs downloaded totally in 44 minutes Content Manager automatically did the updates in the beginning and ALL planes and Airports were loaded (Premium Deluxe). Setup was a little intimidating, but if you had patience, you could figure many things out (NOT all things though). My joystick (MS Force Feedback 2) wasn't there, but I eventually figured out how to program it. Figuring out Hat Switch mapping was most challenging. VFR flight in 152 went great. ONE BIG PROBLEM...my joystick Sensitivities and Dead Zones are not right...all screwed up. I would love to get the joystick to control my planes smoothly. My axis' are not smooth. My Throttle does not move smoothly. I have to move more than halfway up on my joystick for the plane to respond. Aileron movement is not smooth, Rudder twist is OK, elevator axis is "unsmooth". Those are my biggest problems. This was never a problem in any other sim I've used. I would appreciate some ideas on Sensitivity and Dead Zone settings if any of you have found a "happy medium" that works. I can work through the rest, but I can't smoothly fly any plane at this point. Stan Edited August 18, 20205 yr by spilok
August 18, 20205 yr The default setting for my T16000M is great. Minus 50 percent sensitivity and 3 percent dead zone for pitch and roll. My rudder is pretty similar. Throttle at 0 sensitivity (linear). Edited August 18, 20205 yr by MarkSC
August 18, 20205 yr I'm on the sidelines building a new system after a system failure. Would love to fly up to KABE from my home base at KESN, Easton, Md. I have sim flown into KABE often, as well as KAVP and KMPO. Traveled that area for some 18 years and fly fantasy flights to the Poconos to take in auto racing at the speedway. How do those default airports look in MSFS. Would love it if you flew down here to Easton and took a look to share. I'm likely stuck in the maintenance hangar for another week to 10 days (I hope). August 18, 20205 yr Stan, I had some hassle with the Hat Switch too, but sensitivities etc are good here. If you want/can afford it, you should go for a better Joystick imo. At least a X52 Pro or related hardware. I am trying all the suggestions I get here on this thread. One of them should work better than my settings. Stan

Although I know that there is software being developed for the MS Force Feedback 2 joystick right now. So, MSFS 2020 will eventually have the FF option. However, today I placed an order for the following: Thrustmaster TCA Sidestick Airbus Edition. Supposedly, this is a stick that was recommended by the developer team. You can't find one...they're all sold out everywhere. UNAVAILABLE. However, the Pilot Shop is taking orders for them and will ship when they come in. I think your suggestion is a good one. Stan
August 18, 20205 yr Not sure if anyone noticed, but it is suddenly impossible to buy a joystick! I just went through this yesterday at the bike shop, where they said no bikes will be available until later October of November! Stan I just realized you posted the exact same thing right before I posted! Oh well, I may try to order one too. August 18, 20205 yr Yep agreed, it makes no sense. why it is so bad. Its the only way to control the plane and its awful. Something has to be missing.... Chris Chiozza
