Beta Test: Old FFB joystick (ffb on) Linux - MSFS 24/XP12
Really impressed with this program, Jonathan. I really like the fact that your program allows the Microsoft FF2 joystick to have an excellent spring effect so that the joystick centers beautifully. In both the version I use for P3d by Russell Dirks, called FS Force, or the version I've been using for MSFS, called XP Force, the joystick is limp and without strong adjustable centering. Your program is perfect for the MFF2 joystick. Honestly, I've been using this stick since it was introduced by Microsoft. I've had 5 of them (Ebay only place to get them now) over the decades of use, and this is the first time I feel real CONTROL with this stick. Thanks again. Stan

It just keeps getting BETTER! Jonathan, you are indeed a superstar. Enjoying every minute, and the fact that you keep working with it to make it even better is truly amazing. The new beta is working for me and the SAVE feature is solid. I am able to pull up my profile and it's intact and remarkably flexible. Stan

AI in FS20/FS24
AI should be used to REPLACE photogrammetry that is horrendous in MSFS.

Beta Test: Old FFB joystick (ffb on) Linux - MSFS 24/XP12
I think it's definitely ready. I saved a profile and flew two flights today in both a Cirrus Visionjet (from Seattle to KSUN in Idaho) and a GA Cessna (this was a short one), and I really enjoyed my settings saved just the way I like them. Really an excellent contribution to the Sim Community, Jonathan. It's the first FF program that I can use and adjust every aspect of my forces. I'll bet many simmers are going to try to acquire the Microsoft FF joystick. Better yet, Microsoft should produce a new FF joystick. I just can't imagine flying with a dead stick as most simmers do. Something wrong with that IMHO. Stan

Beta Test: Old FFB joystick (ffb on) Linux - MSFS 24/XP12
Tested today (also left you an email on some specifics) and I really enjoyed it. Touchdown effects excellent, and I think the takeoff roll is pretty good. I know there are adjustments that I have to learn at this point. I would love to see a force feedback THUMP when you hit a turbulent pocket. I am going to keep using it and hopefully others will try it. Since a FF joystick is necessary, you should not expect a lot of comments on this forum because the majority of simmers don't have them. However, I believe this is a phenomenal project an I hope you are able to keep refining it. I'm a fan! Stan

Beta Test: Old FFB joystick (ffb on) Linux - MSFS 24/XP12
Getting lots of Orange and Red (Simconnect) comments in Diagnostics. Red are Timeout Exceptions which say "Timeout Exception: autodetect neither MSFS nor X Plane responded within 3s". Orange are "re-trying" comments. The DOCTOR says MSFS Reachable and SimConnect Config. I know its Armed and it is definitely powered on. I'm sure I'll figure it out, but if you have any ideas, I'd appreciate it.

Beta Test: Old FFB joystick (ffb on) Linux - MSFS 24/XP12
Downloaded and tried. 1st attempt in MSFS2024, I couldn't get it to work. I'll keep trying to find out what I'm doing wrong here. I hit the space bar but it didn't seem to change anything. Wondering where I should place the program? It goes to my C drive (App data). It asks if I want a different location. Where should the correct install location be? I have separate drives for MSFS 2020, MSFS 2024, and P3dv5.4.

Beta Test: Old FFB joystick (ffb on) Linux - MSFS 24/XP12
I've been successfully using my MS FF2 joystick ever since it came out. With P3d, I use Russell Dirk's software, FS Force, and with MSFS, I use XP Force. I am totally happy with both of these programs, and I will NEVER give up my MS FF2 joystick. You'll have to pry it from my cold, dead hands! I bought several of them from Ebay just so I'm never without one. I've tried dozens of other joysticks, but once you feel the runway texture with a slight jolt on landing, and the runway rolling on takeoff, you'll NEVER go back to another joystick without the capability. Land correctly and you have a normal touchdown feel...land hard, and you certainly feel the force of that landing with this joystick. It's as real as it gets.

HondaJet...what a rush!
It's hard to explain how much I really love flying the HondaJet in 2024. It's the perfect plane for me. I love, especially the Garmin G-3000 navigation system and I love the plane's handling above all. It's so much fun to fire up the HJ anywhere in the world and easily set the Nav system to where you are, the waypoint you would like to pass over, and the destination. I'm probably so excited because I still have difficulty with nav systems in the Citations of the world, and and airliners. The HondaJet is my go to right now and I enjoy it every day. The AUTOTHROTTLE is another phenomenal part of this autopilot, and it gives you that satisfaction and confidence to leave the cockpit and get a snack, beer, etc. Hope you all love this jet as much as I do.

Are you addicted to Avsim?
"He who angers me...defeats me!" I've learned long ago how to deal with stress. Live in the present and don't re-live the past. Look forward to the future.

Are you addicted to Avsim?
NEVER go a day without my AVSIM "fix"! The people on this forum are so helpful and have been so important in my flight simulation life. I have been simming since the beginning and have had every sim package that Microsoft and Lockheed Martin have produced. I often needed guidance and help with finding things, fixing things, and recommending things. AVSIM has always been there. Every day I start with the HANGER forum, go on to the MSFS forum, and end with the P3d forum. I don't even miss my AVSIM days when I travel, and my wife and I travel all over the world. Flight simulation keeps me sane and I often reproduce all my real flights or flights in the news. It's always interesting getting the opinions of world flights and aviation "incidents" that are in the news from AVSIM forum members. Keep up the good work, AVSIM. Stan

P3d "start up" question
Yes. That's right. I let the F-35 pre-load and literally NEVER fly it. I then go to my Saved flights and pull something that's there or start a new flight. Thanks.

P3d "start up" question
I started having a loading issue with P3dv5.4 last week. I was getting a start up but the sim loaded a BLACK SCREEN. I did a myriad of things to fix this: I uninstalled Client, Content, and Scenery and reinstalled same; I looked at all recent addons and tried to determine if anything could have caused this so-called "crash". P3d was loaded, but there was no image on the monitor. So, I actually uninstalled P3d and all of my painstaking installations of planes, scenery, utilities, etc. I reinstalled it and started fresh. I called Jetline (my computer manufacturer) and spoke to them about it. They got into my computer with ANY DESK and deleted many temp files and did other cleanup types of things. They did delete the Cfg and let the sim load up a new one. That worked! However, I've done that many times, and it does work. However, after setting up a start scenario with perhaps an Airbus or CRJ (my favorite plane), I was back to the black start up screen. I uninstalled some ORBX files and reinstalled them, verified them, etc. Jetline today texted me and said that you are definitely supposed to use the DEFAULT screen with the Jet Fighter at whatever airport it's at ALWAYS. You can then load up any scenery or aircraft you want once you're in the sim. I've been doing that all day, and it does work. Absolutely no crashes! Since when can't you have a "saved scenario" of your choice of plane and airport to start the sim. I've always used P3d with my own startup screen and had no real problems. I was told that I got away with it for quite a while but as my P3d grew with addons, the startup screen was not able to load efficiently and that the P3d default screens would always work for me. Do most of you use the Default startup in P3d, or does your sim load fine with a custom startup you put together? Just curious if you've ever had this issue.

Help regarding SAVING something to a folder
I'm trying to SAVE a change I'm making to a MODEL folder of a particular TDS plane in P3d 5.4. The reason I'm trying to do this is because there are instructions regarding this for TDS planes. I was affected by the Windows update that made all my TDS planes end up with half wings. I've been trying to remedy this and I've arrived at an impasse. The instructions say to SAVE a line to the MODEL file in the original plane. However, when I hit SAVE, the folder doesn't save it....the SAVE command sends me to a folder on my desktop where I store passwords and other important notes. How do I make the file accept my change? Thanks

Can WING VIEWS be added?
Thank you so much. My wing views are now "alive and well". Stan

Can WING VIEWS be added?
I downloaded the files but can't seem to make it work. I would appreciate exactly what you did to make it work for you. What did you do step by step? If you feel this is not possible, I understand.

Can WING VIEWS be added?
Thank you for your response. I wish I could use TDS planes but as I've already mentioned in this forum, all my TDS planes that I used to lover flying now have HALF WINGS. Seems Windows update contributed to that. I've been told of the model fix that Hiroshi has out there, but when I attempted to do it, it didn't work. I guess I have to try that fix again. It seem cumbersome and isn't clearly explained on how to do it.

Can WING VIEWS be added?
I have some POSKY 737-700's, 737-800's and 737-900's and I do enjoy flying them. However, I'm a lover of wing views. These planes do not show wings when toggling through the views. Is there a method or a configuration insert that would allow me to add wing views with these planes (and others, possibly). I'd appreciate any input on this if you've found a way to do this. I'm running P3dv5.4.

ILS tutorial would be appreciated
I have always loved "shooting an ILS" in P3d, and I still do. However, I'm really enjoying MSFS 2024 (and 2020) these days. I have learned to set up the AP in many of the planes, and I am partial to Garmin navigation systems in planes like the Duke and others. I am able to get me from Point A top Point B without too much trouble, but I can't seem to get the plane to lock onto the runway I've chosen on the Procedure button. In P3d, I choose the runway, choose a heading, then change the GPS button to NAV and the plane turns onto the ILS that I have programmed in the NAV1 radio. Is there a tutorial that can help me with this? I'm still not proficient in programming an FMS on airliners in this sim. I want to eventually be able to learn that as well.
